Had such a great time at Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar - Davie with two of my girlfriends! We sat at the bar, and I loved that their happy hour starts at 3 PM. If you sit at the bar, the appetizers are also discounted, which made it perfect for sharing and trying different dishes. We shared the corn guac, salmon crispy rice, jumbo shrimp, Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, and finished with the chocolate chunk bread pudding. Everything was absolutely phenomenal each dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. I also had two Peachy Lychee Martinis, and they were so delicious! The perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a fun girls' night out. I'll definitely be returning. read more

I ordered the philly cheesesteak egg rolls and the rainbow sushi roll for delivery. Food arrived well packaged . I enjoyed both items, but I believe they could use some improvements. The Philly steak roll had a nice crunch to it and the Cooper sharp cheese gave it a nice little punch.The two dipping sauces were quite tasty. The steak, however, in the roll was lacking . I could barely taste the meat. The sushi roll was bright and fresh. It did not arrive chilled ( as stated on the menu) but a little above room temperature. They do have a lot of interesting looking items with the new american twist. I would definitely try this place again. I came in the evening with friends. The restaurant was nice. It is located at a corner. It was big inside. We had to wait to be seated around 20 minutes. I recommend making reservations even if they say you don't have to. They had plenty of empty tables insideand out. We didn't understand the wait time. The place was loud inside. We sat outside and it was nice and loud lol. We had Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice. The rice was not crispy but it was good. The calamari tower was excellent and cool to look at. My friends and I celebrated New Years Eve at Tap 42 and enjoyed such a delicious meal. The restaurant was very spacious and we were sat at a large table that could accommodate up to 10. We shared the "Don't be a Prick" margarita pitcher, which was enough to give 8 people each a drink! Great value and super tasty - would order again. For a meal, I had the truffle mac and cheese and the spicy tuna crispy rice. I am a Mac and cheese lover and I must say this was some of the best I've ever had. It was a pretty large portion and I wasn't able to finish it all, but absolutely loved it. I'm already planning to go back just for that Mac and cheese! The spicy tuna crispy rice was also so delicious. I'm can't tolerate spice very well, so I did find it to have a bit of a kick, but the flavors were great. Would order these again too! Our server was very attentive for our party of 8. Prices are a little high, but I found that the food quality justified the prices. So you don't feel like you're sitting in a parking lot. We had great service! I started off with my fav, the prickly pear margarita. It's tart, sweet and has just enough kick of tequila. The basil addition also gives it an herbaceous twist. For entree we had the chicken wings with a basket of fries. The wings here are fantastic cause first of they're grilled. They also come with the sauces on the side which is great when you're sharing. You can choose between buffalo of bbq dipping sauces with the usual blue cheese. Came her to watch the University of Miami Canes Fiesta Bowl. There was a wait to sit down but the bar was available. Tap 42 has semi sports bar vibes with big screen tvs around the bar. We ordered a few beers and I got to try the Hazy 42 NEIPA which is a collab between Funky Budha Brewery and Tap 42. It's really good and light and has an ABV of 5%. To eat we had the Mahi Mahi that came with brussel sprouts. However, they brought us fries by mistake. We also got the Tuna Nachos which are a staple at Tap 42. It's raw tuna with avocado and some toppings served with Yuca chips, it's really good. Parking was free and plenty at the shopping plaza. read more

I came in at my reservation time and was sat immediately while other people without was told wait 20-45 min. Our server was fast and friendly and provided recommendations. The restaurant was kinda loud but still was able to talk. The cocktails we had were delicious and strong. For appetizers we had the calamari tower which was light and very tasty. Kids had the cheeseburger and the tenders which both boys enjoyed. I ordered the chimichurri steak with the loaded potato. Steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The loaded potato was also delicious. My mom ordered the wagyu steak noodles which in the menu doesn't say it , however it was very spicy for her. So we ended up switching. Went to TAP42 on a Wednesday evening with two of my girlfriends. We got there around 6:30 or 7, parking wad easy and the place was busy. Not packed, but definitely poppin'. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated. While waiting, we noticed some diners outside were being harassed by ducks. People were swatting them away and a few even moved inside because they couldn't deal. What surprised me was that no staff members stepped in (during the time I was there) it was all the customers trying to handle the duck situation. Once we were seated, things started off well. I ordered my go to, the chicken wings, all flats, well done. They came out exactly how I like them, so no complaints there. My friend ordered a salmon with sweet potato fries. Those fries were delicious. I also had a Toasted Coconut margarita, which was ok. I thought it would be creamier. The music inside was good, at first. It started off at a nice volume, maybe a level five. But out of nowhere, it jumped to a ten! It got so loud we couldn't even hear each other talk. Everyone in the restaurant was looking around like, "What is going on?" We had to ask our waiter to have them turn it down, and thankfully he did. But it definitely threw off the vibe for a bit. Now for the part I was most excited about, the strawberry tres leches. I always look forward to that dessert, and I even told the server, "Make sure they make it with love!" because this was my first time at this location. But when it came out... dry. Like, where are the tres leches?! I was so disappointed. I made sure not to order fries with my wings and only ate 5 of the wings, to save space for dessert. I asked for more milk and the server brought me a whole bowl to pour over it myself. At that point, it felt like a DIY project. Plus, doing it that way didn't really give the milk time to soak into the cake. It sucks because I was the one who suggested going to TAP42 because I was confident that id wnd my night with a bomb Tres Leches. Overall, the wings were good, and the service was decent. But the loud music moment and the disappointing dessert brought it down. I'd honestly give this spot a 3.5 if I could. First time at the Davie location and I will say it was a lot more chill than some of the others. Parking was easy because it's in a big plaza which was a plus. We ordered the chicken caesar wrap with sweet potato fries and the tres leches french toast. Both items were amazing! I kept seeing the chicken caesar on IG so I had to try it. The wrap was stuffed with chopped chicken and the perfect amount of dressing. The French toast was so sweet with the syrup and dulce de leche drizzle but it was the perfect balance with the wrap. We also ordered a pitcher of the cucumber gin cocktail and it was so good! It honestly tasted like a nice refreshing green juice. I also highly recommend the hot shot. It was basically an espresso martini shot with whip cream on top. The shot is actually warm so it melted the whip cream, so good! read more

Stopped by after work for their happy hour, and I left with mixed feelings. Though I have been here before this time, this visit was not as great. One thing to know is that their full happy hour menu drinks and small bites are only available if you're sitting directly at their bar. Throughout the restaurant they do offer their happy hour drink specials, but not for food. When I visited, the restaurant was not very busy. There were plenty of open seating outside (and it was hot), but inside the hostess said most tables were reserved for other guests that had not arrived yet. It was 3:30 in the afternoon when we visited and she told us that reservations were made for 5:30 and 6 PM.... so if we can leave before 5:30 it would be OK. We told her that we would most likely be out of there by six, but she seemed very hesitant in seating us inside. So you're telling me that from 3:30 to 5:30 those tables will remain empty? We asked than just be seated outside just to avoid any more wasting time and issues . A server came to our table and took a couple drinks and appetizer orders. Everything that we ordered was great including our drinks. The service was a bit slow, but it was OK. We were not in a rush. We had a group of six, so at the end of our meal we would have split the bill six ways. We were there for about an hour and a half, and a few of us needed to leave a little early so we decided to close out. When our server came back, we told her that we were going to split the bill amongst the six of us. She came around and took all of our credit cards and swiped it for the amount that each of us owed. When the last person paid their portion, the server said that there was a remaining balance of $50. She quickly then realized that instead of splitting our bill six ways, she did it for seven. She then came back around so that we could all split up and now remaining balance of $50, it was not a huge deal. It was just a bit annoying because we specifically told her twice we would be splitting the bill in. I don't know that I'm eager to return to this restaurant anytime soon, but in the event that I ever do, I will leave an updated review. read more

Ordered a Caesar salad wrap from Uber eats from top 42. The bag was completely sealed the box inside was completely sealed. There was no way for it to be open. When I took the container of the wrap outside of the bag. The box was still closed and there was a cockroach crawling around inside of my wrap inside of the container when the container was still closed meaning the cockroach went inside of my food at the restaurant when it was being made because there's no way for a cockroach to open a sealed container like that. This place is freaking disgusting. They obviously need to clean or get checked or get inspected because this is absolutely ridiculous. A disgusting cockroach crawling around inside of my food. Never eating from this place again and I would not recommend because you don't know what they're doing inside the kitchen for an insect to be inside of a wrap. read more

I have been to this location multiple times but not for happy hour. After work a few of us were excited to go since we know the food is good. When we got there we were told the happy hour applied to drinks at any table but the food was only available at the bar. There were 6 of us so that wouldn't work. There were not enough seats together and if we sat outside we would be sitting in a line next to one another so that wasn't ideal. I had the prickly pear margarita which was delicious. But today we sat at a booth with an excellent server named John. I wanted something light so we both ordered the Caesar Salad with added chicken breast. While waiting I chose a Blackberry Rum cocktail with an added rum shot which was refreshing and strong. The salad was very large and heavily covered with dressing, nice oversized croutons but was seriously lacking chicken. Now let's talk about bad options: the only vegetarian entree is a French dip with beyond meat. This could have been easily modified to be a vegetarian burger. I was sad to see you can't swap other burgers for an impossible patty on the app, but I did like that this forced me to try something new. The burger was tasty and the Mac and cheese was okay. The sweet plantains were delicious. And the spicy tuna tartare was packed with flavors. I didn't care for the chips they came with personally but they didn't take away from flavors. My daughter and her co-workers often go to Tap 42, sometimes just for drinks and appetizers. Hubby and I are not drinkers but we decided to try it for lunch. It's located in the Tower Shoppes and there is plenty of parking (though not always close). There are lots of TV screens, and the eatery is modern with lots of high-top tables and chairs. Hubby ordered a lunch special that included a calamari tower appetizer, a blackened mahi sandwich, and strawberry shortcake tres leches. I had the drunken goat sandwich. We shared everything. The sauce on the calamari was very overpowering and very creamy. Neither of us thought it was bad, nor did we think it was spectacular. With some added malt vinegar, the mahi sandwich was good. The fries that came along with it were a bit dried out. The drunken goat sandwich was good, certainly a bit different. (I grew up eating goat and lamb, so it wasn't an unfamiliar taste.) I asked for well-done sweet potato fries and got ones that were charred black on the outside and soft on the inside. Couldn't decide if I liked them, but I did love the sauce that accompanied them. The dessert was smooth and delicious and just perfect for me, but not sweet enough for hubby who was expecting a traditionally sweet tres leches. While I thought the food was mediocre, the best thing about Tap 42 is the superb service. You are met with a friendly greeting and our waiter, Carlos, was very attentive and helpful. Everyone who made eye contact did so with a smile. Lunch specials are $29 with a mini version of the full appetizer, a regular-size sandwich, and a small version of the selected dessert. My sandwich was $19.50 with a $1 upcharge for sweet potatoe fries (very reasonable upcharge). The bill was about $62 including tax and tip. read more
