This is even better than schnitzel in Vienna, its birthplace. The owner/chef is amazing. Just the right thickness, golden brown and as flavorful as it gets. Served with lingonberries and parsley potatoes. You'd never guess this place would be this good from outside, it has a small sign, is under a hotel add had a large bar area that greets you when you walk in. Doesn't look like anything special, but take my word, just terrific. Every bit as good as 8 years ago. The salad was great as well. A quick search on Yelp led us to this American style steakhouse not far from our bed and breakfast in Tirol. Based on the great reviews, we decided to try it out and the restaurant did not disappoint! We arrived kind of late on a Friday evening, without prior reservations and the place was busy, but got lucky as two people were just leaving. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and talk about Americana, there were a bunch of Native American and Wild West artifacts that were displayed on the walls as well other things that reminded one of the good old USA. The interior otherwise felt like a high end steakhouse in the States. They had a wide selection of different steaks, salades and sides available. They also had a nice selection of beers and bourbons. We enjoyed some excellent T-bone steaks, with an almost buttery texture but crispy exterior, and full of flavor. They were about as good as you can get them even compared to steaks in the States, salads and fries were great also. In addition, we ordered a green bean side dish which contained enough green beans to feed 4 people. The portions were quite big and the prices quite reasonable, especially considering the quantity and quality. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back here when we are in the area again (though I would make a reservation next time)! The restaurant is what I would call "Alpen-chic", so a traditional house with a modern interior. As the name may suggest, their focus is in Angus beef and that's the only steak meat that they sell. Once you decided to go with the steak you will have to choose your sides, in our case we went for a so called "showboard" which consisted of 3 different sauces, oven-roasted vegetables and a potato gratin. Sauces were good, veg was good as well, little too oily for my taste and the gratin is perfect for fans of hearty food. The steak itself was good but to be really honest, I had better and I probably expected a little bit more. The meat wasn't as tender and it didn't melt as much in my mouth as I would have wished it to do. But nevertheless it was tasty and of good quality. The massive chunk of meat that you ordered will be cut for you by the waiter and he will give you some and come back and give you seconds and thirds until the meat is gone. So it was nice to stumble upon Bistro Organic as an alternative. Bistro Organic has a little more flair than your average airport space with Asian lanterns and an open plan with different seating options. There are several tables on either side of a long eating bar, with what I first assumed was an aquarium. No fish, just a tank percolating with green bubbles.
