It was an easy decision to work with Retired Film Guys. I mailed to them via USPS with tracking my old super 8 mm home movies to be digitized. I was able to specify having the digitized movies put on a DVD and also onto a new flash drive I provided. The turnaround time was quick and the results were very good considering the age of the films and the less than expert filming done at the time. I really appreciated the very reasonable price and the excellent communications from this company. It was fun to see some of our family life from decades ago. If you have old home movies, using this company to digitize them is a great way to preserve those memories.

Yelp has this peculiarity that if a business moves location, then it is tagged "Closed." Same…read morebusiness, same people, same phone number, same URL, etc. Just a new street/city address. But Yelp now shows two separate listings, the "Closed" in Downers Grove, Illinois and this one in Florida. This is the same business that operated out of Downers Grove for many years. But the Retired Film Guys have escaped the misery that is Illinois for the balmy climes and low taxes of the Sunshine State. Fortunately, they are still in business and correspond by mail. Wouldn't you know it though, I found a reel of film that I had missed when I had them do a batch when they were in Downers Grove. Found their new address, same great prices and sent it off. A week later I had my CD. Tip Of The Day: Films can be sent by USPS Media Mail, which costs a lot less than first class and does include tracking. It seems to be just as fast as well. Following is my previous review from 2014: These guys are the greatest! Everything one could want. Fast, efficient service. Best prices, include cleaning of the film first before conversion. Experts, who know their stuff. Superb image quality, couldn't be more pleased with the outcome on conversion of my old 8mm film from the early 50's to DVD. (That Kodachrome was good stuff.) They're local in the Chicago area (far western suburb) and the work is done onsite, so you can drop off your priceless film without having to worry about the Post Office. The only downside is they're location is way out in the boonies but then you get to meet their neat doggies.
