Towing a trailer uses a lot of fuel so when it was time to add an auxiliary fuel tank to our truck, we wanted it done right. After doing our research, we decided to go with TAPS. Hubby went to the store to order all the necessary parts and made an install appointment for 2 weeks out. It took 7 hours to complete the install (we were told ahead of time about the length of time). I spent most of that time exploring downtown Paso. They do have a small waiting room that I spent the last hour or so in. Fellow car enthusiasts! Hear me! These guys are great!! I called on a Thursday for a quote to install a Borla cat-back exhaust for my Focus ST. Garret was very accommodating and was able to squeeze me in for the following Monday at 8am. Monday arrives and I was greeted at the door. The showroom was closed due to COVID-19 protocol. I was thankful to see their employees using PPE, not only for myself, but for their sake as well. About an hour and a half later they were done. It would have been under an hour, but the exhaust tips were crooked. WTF, Borla?? Thankfully, the boys cranked it straight with a 4ft pry bar. That's effort! They used the supplied COBB hangers that I requested be installed, and they even cut my stock exhaust into small sections so they could fit it in the Borla box for my ride home. Went in to look for a truck bed cover and was greeted by a lady that was quick to show me a few sample truck covers. After talking and giving me her opinion on one of the covers she personally had on her truck I opted to buy the one she recommended. I gave her my truck model and dimensions of the truck bed to order the cover and was scheduled to get it installed two days later. The day came to get the cover installed and the wrong one was ordered. All the staff was very friendly and apologized for the incorrect order, once we ordered the right size it ended being an extra $150 bucks which I did not mind paying. I was going out of town the next day and one of the guys said he could have the cover installed no later than 8am but it was cutting it close for me so I scheduled the install for the following week. Monday came around and took my truck in to get cover installed. I saw the lady one last time and I thanked her for her help. She thanked me for not being rude about the wrong order and I said no problem stuff happens. I will revisit this establishment not only because of the quality work and products they carry but for the customer service they have and the way they handled the issue in such a professional manner. Tip: don't be a jerk if they don't order the right part/cover for your truck, stuff happens! read more

A little embarrassed that I have not reviewed Taps yet:/ Just had another great experience improving my work truck. My truck is weird but they always make it work. This time I had a reverse camera installed and I am very happy with it. I was concerned about this type of thing because I wasn't sure an add on would work well or that it might look funny. It works great and its hard to tell its an add on. I also had my tail lights replaced, they were hard to find but look great. It was easy to work with Taps as well. I came in for an estimate, approved it and they did the work as scheduled. In the past I have had two ladder racks installed that bring my ladders down to a safe level for removing and stowing. That work great and is a life and back saver. I'll be bringing my wife's vehicle in next for a back up camera. If the camera stops one dent it will pay for itself. It's a no brainer. My husband brought in our son's truck to have some N-FAB running boards installed. He had installed a pair on his truck previously with no problems but something just wasn't working on our son's truck. After wasting a day under the truck and getting frustrated, he threw in the towel and called Taps. They had them on in two hours and charged my husband a fair price. It was a funky job but they got it to work and they look great on the truck. Judging by how busy the shop was, it is apparent they have a good reputation and I can say it is justified. Excellent customer service. State of the art Facility. I had an air suspension and a compressor installed along with a diesel truck horn. We were camping in San Simeon state park, noticed when getting ready to leave, my receiver hitch on my truck was missing bolts. THE WORST! AVOID THIS PLACE! I would give a 0 stars if possible. My husband went to make an appointment without my knowledge and used my card. I spoke to my husband about us not being able to afford that type of service right now and I went to cancel the appointment and ask for my money back. I was supposed to get a call back, but I didn't. I called back days later and the lady said oh yeah I remember, then she put me on hold and when she came back she said "the manager said he'll deal with your husband because he doesn't want to deal with the back and forth." And HUNG UP THE PHONE. Of course I called back and told her that I did not authorize my husband to use my card and that I would be reporting the transaction as fraud. And also let her know how rude it was to hang up on me. She said "I'm busy and I just repeated what I was told" & "I'm not dealing with you" and hung up again. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I have a gray 2015 Toyota Tundra. I went to TAPS for an install of a Rough Country front and rear bumper. The front bumper came in first and was installed. It looked beautiful. When the front bumper came in they installed it as well. When I arrived to pick up the truck I was so disappointed by the gap between the bumper and the tailgate. I could see the manufacturing slots within the gap. It looked so incomplete. Rough Country's advertisements didn't show that gap. Garrett was so cool! He saw how bummed I was. He went and got some metal, cut and notched it to fit the gap, painted and installed for me! That was effing cool! It looks great! I was happy. When I get my supercharger money saved up, TAPS is the place i'm going. read more

Extremely disappointed and offended with the treatment and service at TAPS. My husband and I ordered a shell for our truck last December. It arrived in a timely manner, and was promptly installed, however was not aligned with the bed of the truck. After insisting it be adjusted for cosmetic appeal, it was finally done. After taking it home, I noticed that the back window was not properly closing. I called and was connected with the installer. When I explained that the back hatch wouldn't stay closed, he simply told me that I was too picky! I had to insist he look at it. Upon taking it back to TAPS, he was rude and short with my husband. Ultimately, he made the necessary adjustment to the hinges and instructed my husband on the adjustment process in the event it required further work. It's a shame a small town, mom and pop establishment doesn't take the steps to ensure the job is done satisfactorily the first time. There was no question that the shell wasn't installed with attention to detail the first time. We shouldn't have needed to point out that is was installed 2 inches behind the front edge of the bed, leaving a gap between the front of the bed and the front of the shell. We will take our future business elsewhere. read more
