Well what can I say about this place..... this is not your typical style Filipino food restaurant . It's a all day breakfast from 10am-2pm. Please look at the pictures to see the current menu. Location: the place is clean and also the surrounding area. Cool area to step out and look around while you wait for your food to come because it's made to order! So make sure you give yourself sometime time. Parking: is not free parking but plenty of street meter parking. On my short trip to Fresno I got to visit this place called TAPSI! My assistant and I tried the number 1 and 2 .. at $13 dollars a pop. The presentation looks great and made to order! Both came with garlic rice , vegetables , 2 lumpia and the lumpia was tasty! The taste was really good and fresh. The surrounding environment was so cool as well. So now that I found you TAPSI now every time I make it here I'll be sure to always say hello and taste some of your other combos on your menu. Tried food from Tapsi for the first time yesterday and I'm so glad I found this hidden gem! I placed an order over the phone before going to pick it up and the sweet lady taking my order was very nice. My food was waiting for me when I got there and was SO incredible! We got the #1 and #2 with garlic fried rice and everything was so delicious! The meat was so soft and flavorful and the rice, eggs, and veggies were such a good balance to the meat. The plate also included two yummy little lumpia with sweet chili sauce and some spicy sauce for the other stuff. We will definitely be back to try the other things on their menu! read more

We asked the cashier what some of the items were on the menu because it was our first time there, she just said one was beef, one was fish, one was was pork and one was sausage...that was it. No explanation or anything. The menu seemed pretty simple but they took over half an hour for our food to come out. We tried ordering drinks, water and diet cokes...I don't know why she had a hard time understanding, so we didn't get drinks. We ordered the beef, chicken adobo, and wings. The thinly sliced beef was dry, overcooked and bland. Chicken Adobo was also bland but tender. The wings were soggy and didn't seem fresh...we ate there and waited over half an hour for our food. The onions in the vegetables were raw, still white, not translucent... It was also an hour before closing and they ran out of pancit. The restaurant was dark. Food was mediocre, service was mediocre, I've had better Filipino food elsewhere in town. I wouldn't come back here. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now called in my order and was told it would take 25 minutes. When I get there my order is ready and sitting on the counter. The African-American lady who took my order, was very polite and sweet when I got in the car, I always like to take pics so that I can do a review took a picture of plate number one it looked and smelled great. Took a bite. It was delicious opened up plate number two and discovered that it was not a number five which was barbecue pork that I had ordered but it was also a number one so there I have two number ones so I turn around so that I can go in and have my order fixed mind you I was on my 30 minute lunch break hence the reason why I called in my order so I get to the door and the door is locked. Surprise they are closed so I called the restaurants number and the lady who took my order previously answered the phone she remember my name and everything which was cute. so I told her what the issue was and she assured me that the mistake would be fixed so me thinking that all they had to do was switch out the meat and that it would take about five minutes. Sit down to wait almost 15 minutes later, my break was already over, I was pissed and I asked what was taking so long because I had to get back to work. I was handed my order a couple minutes later and the cashier apologized but at this point I was upset because I was late getting back to work from my lunch break now the meat was really really delicious. You could tell It was freshly grilled just but the veggies were hardly cooked which I did not like and I don't eat Sunnyside eggs either so that pretty much grossed me out my kids love Sunnyside eggs, so I'll be saving it for my kids to eat. All in all I would recommend this place because the food is good I just would recommend making sure you have the correct order and also not being in a rush to get anywhere.SN I probably wouldn't have been so upset if they would have let me keep the other plate as well lol. read more

Ok, backstory for the reviewer first. I'm in no way an expert or even experienced Filipino food critic. I first tried Filipino food in the late nineties when my friends mother made us various dishes over the course of a year, and I only liked the typical favorites, such as lumpia, pansit, chicken adobo. The rest was too greasy or odd for me. Pastries were definitely not a hit, and halo halo was just not my thing. I avoided Filipino food for about a decade and tried again while living in San Diego for years. I tried several restaurants and bakeries and pot lucks only to always have the same results. Fast forward to today, and I finally get it! I stumbled on Tapsi while in downtown Fresno for work and I am enlightened, and now hooked. I ordered the pork BBQ plate #5 with garlic rice and meat lumpia. It came with a fried egg and charred vegetables. The meat had a delicious char with a wonderful marinade and was tender. Nothing was greasy and it was cooked to perfection, everything. Absolutely delicious. All for a surprisingly low price and the service was so very friendly. I asked for some spicy sauce, and received a container of diced chilis, maybe cilantro, red pepper seeds, a vinegary juice and God knows what other secret spices and flavors were in there, but it was SPICY and full of flavor. Use it with a little self control because it is both delicious and potent. My boss is a big advocate of Filipino food. We travel over the United States for work. We found "Tapsi" a Filipino restaurant that serves only breakfast their store hours are from 10am-2pm. The store location is in downtown Fresno near the two airports in. The surrounding areas seem very safe and clean very people friendly; parking is not free $1.50 per hour. The restaurant was tidy and clean. The food was good and came along with veggies and a eggrolls. Looking forward to eating here again. read more

2/6/2019 The best tilapia I've had in my life seriously. So fresh and crispy. Comes with a cup of vegetables soup, garlic rice , fried egg, pancit( noodles ) and two small pieces of lumpia ( egg rolls ). Huge portion. I can't believe all this food for only $8!!!! I ate half of it and was full. Garlic rice tasted so good with fried egg and lumpias also tasty and crisp. Pancit is good too. Very nice and friendly staff work here. Place is clean and trendy casual. I'll come here again when I'm in Fresno downtown area. Parking is metered. Make sure to have quarters with you. read more

This place is close by to the office while I'm in town for business, so I decided to give it a try earlier this week. Got the teriyaki chicken and it was delicious! It came with garlic rice served with a fried egg on top, two lumpia and sweet and sour sauce. Everything was good. Good experience. I went with my little one & shes picky!!! We shared a chicken Terriaki with rice & philipino chow mein. It was great the portion wasn't huge but it wasnt tiny either. Im picky with my terriaki also but this had very good flavor enough for my picky toddler to eat it. The rice was awesome had an egg on top. The smell in this place is AMAZING. The only thing were the noodles were a bit dry i think those can improve I've had the real deal homemade Philippino noodles before that's how i know. Id also like to see more variety like adding halo halo & more vegan options ( im trying to cut out meat). Other then that the food was great the flavor is wonderful. read more

This is a super yummy, very authentic Filipino restaurant in Warehouse Row in Downtown Fresno. They offer a pretty big selection of traditional dishes: they mostly specialize in tapsilog (grilled marinated meat or fish), but they also have adobo. All of their meals come with garlic fried rice (super yummy), a small salad, and lumpia (a sort of egg roll). While I haven't been the Philippines, I have certainly had my share of Filipino food in the Bay Area, and this restaurant is certainly one of the better ones I've eaten at, although the beef could be a bit more tender. They are only open for lunch right now, and most people seem to get food to go. I ate my lunch there, and I was the only one, but there is certainly ample seating. The staff is super friendly and orders come out fast. You can be in and out in 20 minutes, even if you eat in. Give it a try! read more

I Got the tapsilog combo. Great in portion! I really enjoyed the egg and the lumpias The beef was a bit dry and not very flavorful. The pancit was okay and the garlic rice was good but wish it had more of the garlic flavor in it. I was really looking forward to the soup being a sour soup but I still very much enjoyed it. The soup definitely brought the meal together. Overall I would come back again but I probably wouldn't order the tapsilog again. Hopefully they add in HALO HALO. Nice place to grab lunch. It's nestled in a quiet area of downtown Fresno, and there's never a long line at the door way. The food is pretty solid, and the employees seem well versed with what they serve. I've never had Filipino sausage before, but they were able to tell me the difference between Filipino, Chinese, and Laotian/Hmong sausage. I settled with getting fried tilapia with noodles. The fish is dry rubbed, seasoned well and cooked nicely. They also make the pepper sauce that pairs well with fish. (Pepper sauce is good with everything. Do grab some!) Had a hard time finding the area but it's in a settle location downtown Fresno. Their menu is short and simple. I ordered a half & half chicken adobo & chicken teriyaki. As a filipino myself, seasoning was lacking for me; the chicken could've been marinated longer in both flavors. I'm used to adobo having a thick & dark sauce coated on the chicken, same goes for teriyaki--which didn't sway me as teriyaki. The pancit & eggrolls were good; although I wish there was more to the eggrolls/lumpia...it wasn't crunchy, the wrap layer was already soggy as it was combined with the pancit. I would've go back & only order the pancit & lumpia. While I was there eating my lunch, there was an issue that the restaurant was dealing with a previous order. Instead of handling it towards the back of the restaurant, they put this issue on blast while I was suppose to enjoy my lunch. Although I kept to myself, as a business, drama should never be portrayed from other customers unto others...so yes, you can say I felt uncomfortable eating my lunch while the workers were yelling at each other over another's customer issue. Although someone apologized, as I cut my lunch short & left, I personally wouldn't return to have my lunch there. I feel crappy posting a bad review but I hope it will help the business make a few changes in the future. Here we go- the restaurant itself is stark and cafeteria like. There are no descriptions of the menu items on the menu board. I am new to Filipino food so it was tough to make decision There are no fountain drinks. Just cans. Not a big deal. They do allow dine in service but there is no wait staff. The food took a long time to be done and it was served in styrofoam containers with very cheap plastic cutlery. It was hard to cut into my chicken. The food itself was pretty bland. I ordered chicken adobo and the chicken tasted boiled with little to no adobo sauce actually cooked into it. The rice was ok but very bland. I actually found a hair in the rice towards the bottom of the clump. I was done at that point. Finally, the lumpia that came in my combo plate were literally as small as a small tootsie roll. It tasted good but was bizarrely small Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

The lumpia is good! My meat needed to be a bit more tender. Although I cannot say, it could be that's how it's eaten since this is my first time tasting Filipino food. Service is fast ordered at the spot to go was ready in about 20 minutes all together from arrival to departure. Food is very filling. The gal at the counter/register was nice. Place is clean, not very stylish seems like they just put out old dining tables in mixed in with new and copied place next door. They could have made better use of the designed space. The food is DISGUSTING. This was the second chance I've given this place, I'm done now. Both times the food was absolutely horrid. I ordered Barbecue Pork and Pancit. I ended up with chunks of hard, rancid unidentifiable pieces of matter (I'm too scared to call it 'meat'), and SOUR rice! Do you have any idea how long RICE has to sit out before it becomes SOUR? Even in 108 degree temperatures in Fresno. The 'Pancit' was 'Rancid'. It was OLD and cut with spaghetti noodles. I waited for 1100 to come so i can have my filipino brunch but ended up very frustrated. Not to mention we drove 15 miles to get to Tapsi because i wanted to try it. I ordered the tapsilog- beef doesnt taste like tapa at all. Its more like a bland beefsteak. Garlic fried rice isnt bad. The menu says it comes with cucumber and tomato and we got salad with cesar dressing (not filipino at all). They served vegetable soup. That soup doesn't go well with any food on the menu. They're better off making soup from sinigang or tinola. There was lumpia on the plate too and it was overcooked. I ordered the 5 pcs lumpia for my toddler and it was burnt... i showed the cashier & she nicely offered to give us new ones and she was very apologetic and nice, the only reason im giving 2 stars. We took the lumpia home only to find out its not fully cooked and thats what pushed me more to write this review. The place is nice and clean but the food, no thanks... not to mention it's also overpriced. you can get that meal cheaper and much better somewhere. read more
