The pork was extra salty and a bit dry. I asked for some salsa and received them smallest amount of salsa in this planet. Of course, come to find out it was the most expensive salsa I have ever had in my life (about 3.00 for a few spoonfuls). I think what it comes down to it, sure, it is a place to eat. But if you aren't interested in paying almost 30.00 for a salty burrito, salsa, and chips that aren't great, I suggest you skip. Now if you are coming here for the affordable drinks (5.90 they advertise) and the kindness, this is a great spot to hit up! To be fair, it is likely the pork burrito isn't the best choice on the menu. So if you are curious about the food, I say give it a try but be prepared to pay an insane rate for the side menu items (aka salsa and generic tortilla chips).

We were staying in the Baixa-Chiado area and after getting a little lost, we found ourselves here. Of all places to eat, a Mexican restaurant...LOL! I live in San Diego, which has some of the best Mexican food on the planet considering it's close proximity to Mexico. We thought, why not, plus we were hungry. We ordered the house margaritas which were very good and served straight up in martini glasses, different, but in a good way. We also had the guacamole which was more pureed with a fair amount of lime juice...pretty good! I wondered if they made their own chips, if they don't, they should and offer a little more since we ran out. However, I used the extra on my enchiladas. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the partner ordered the chicken flautas. When they came out, we wondered where the rice and beans were, which are a staple with most Mexican dishes. The presentation was great! And both were very good, although my enchiladas could've been a little hotter. We then ordered the chocolate brownie dusted with chili powder and the passion fruit mouse made with tequilla, and cappuccinos. Both desserts satisfied the sweet tooth. I loved the spicy with the sweet dark chocolate! Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. The staff was great! Even though we did not speak Portuguese, our cool waiter was friendly and spoke English well! It is a bit pricey from what I'm used to, but I would come back, especially for the other margaritas.

Las Ficheras - Shrimp tacos were good. The chips and "queso" not so much. Bless it.

Quimera brews its own beers, at the moment there are 12 in a variety from sours to stouts. I had their American Wheat to start with my burger, a Mexican Chocolate Imperial Stout to finish the chips, and a Blackberry Sour for dessert. All were excellent examples of these specific varieties. The American wheat was absolutely perfect and sour was indeed sour so if that's your thing, you will enjoy. Not a huge variety of food on the menu and I hesitated over the sandwiches, landing on the classic burger. Cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion on a locally baked brioche bun, it was delicious. A little messy but a fun dinner that ended up being my last full meal in Lisbon. Great atmosphere, Quimera is a former cavalry tunnel. Completely underground (though there are some outside tables) and I would guess it might get a bit interesting when it's busy. Ask for the wifi password as you probably won't get a cell signal in here. [Review 19065 overall - 258 in Portugal - 34 of 2023.]
