I've frequently go to the Kent one, and never visited the Tacoma one until yesterday. I cried because it holds the same standards, quality and customer satisfaction. It is a bit smaller, but food wise I will be back! We went for a dinner and it did not disappoint. Lines for the drive through are long, so we went inside to dine. Loved how sweet and patient the ladies were taking our order. You order your food first, and then they will bring it out for you. Little salsa bar, Coke drinks, huge flavorful portions will make you happy that you visited. I ordered the birria, and although I wished for more consommé, I think if you ask they would have given it. The burrito is epic. Overall so happy to have gone and enjoyed it! read more

Finally tried this taqueria after hearing so many good things about it and I was a little disappointed. We had adobada, asada and chicken tacos, added a side of fried onion and serrano pepper. The adobada meat was ok, chicken was good and our favorite was the asada. I didn't like the default salsa they put on the tacos, would've preferred just onion and cilantro. In fact I didn't like any of the salsas they offered, the green salsa was the only decent one and I'm sure the orange looking salsa was on its way out, it tasted and smelled funky. Customer service was great. We might come back just for asada tacos but maybe not. read more

I've been here so many times. Def recommend (off the bat)! They are quick and easy, and busy with Mexicans so I know it's good! I check different places like Chinese, Vietnamese, even Filipino (me!) and see who is eating there. If there own people are eating there, that's a good sign! And this place is that. It is Sunday and they have 2-4pm Taco Happy Hour and they cost $1.50. So I couldn't pass that up. Ordered 2 carnitas and they were delicious! I also ordered the Chili Verde plate with beans and rice and I've ordered this many times and love it. Ordered the flour tortillas and they are so buttery and fragrant and soft. They smell like heaven and taste heavenly! Staff is nice and easy. Able to take my time to order in the drive through. I've also eaten inside too: not too big but good size. They are always having specials too so you can find a good item at a good price. They also ask you about sauces and I like the avocado sauce. I really enjoy this place. Happy Easter to me. Hubby took me here for some great fish. I love it here. Ladies always happy behind the counter too. Oops guess I forgot to finish my review for Easter. Anyway we back again in June. Just love this place. Women always friendly that take your orders and make sure u have everything u need for the meal! This time it's Sunday and I'm tired of cleaning house haha. So I don't feel like cooking when hubby got home. Here we are. 4 tacos, 2 carnitas & 2 fish. One Pozole for the boy. It was so good. My wife and I were traveling to Tacoma Community college for a student performance of Little Women. My wife has some food allergies and so we wanted to go to IHOP but for some reason they were closed. Within walking distance there was a Mexican restaurant named Taqueria El Sabor. We decided to try it and we were very happy we made that choice. Of course many times words don't do justice, so please look at the pictures that are also posted. The staff were very gracious and helpful. The food was very good. My wife said maybe we should find another event at the community college just so we can come back to this Mexican restaurant and have some more of the food. The breakfast burritos here are so good! I love getting bacon and ham. It's a little extra money, but I love the crisp and softness of the bacon and ham. Also, the hashbrowns are what makes this perfect perfection. The people are always so nice. I usually call in my order since it takes a little time. I don't live in the area but when I drive over to my parents from Bellevue to Belfair, it's worth the detour. It's a cute little place. Nothing too fancy but great for takeout. read more

I lived in So-Cal for a while and when I moved back up to Washington was pretty disappointed that I couldn't find any Mexican food that came close to the flavors I expected until I found Taqueria El Sabor. They have arguably the best Carne Asada fries, breakfast burritos and chimichangas in the state. Fries are always cooked well, guacamole is fresh and the carne is seasoned perfectly. They have solid rice and beans with crispy chimichangas with the best flavored chicken inside. I also think their taquitos and tacos are great. If you want a delicious, hot, and fresh breakfast burrito that's big and filling I also recommend the machaca or bacon! I could probably go on and on about all their good food. They are super friendly and will continue to be our favorite food ever. Do want to add- the hot sauce both red and green are good but if you want a bit more heat the "chip salsa" has it. If there is one thing I could ask is for a hotter red sauce but that's a personal preference! read more

We came here after a doctor's appointment around noon or 1. It's pretty tiny and gets busy within a blink. We didn't wait long to order at all and the food came out really fast. I enjoyed everything. I had carne asada friends and enchiladas. It has a fast food type vibe but has booths like a dine in restaurant. There is plenty of parking and a drive thru. The employees were also super sweet. This is a super casual joint that offers sit down, drive thru, and pickup/delivery via their website. I've only gone in and sat down and had a great time. Free generous salsa bar and chips. Food comes out super quick and is always hot and tasty. I've had the birria here and it was super tasty. Their taco special is $1.80 a taco 2-5pm every day and it is well worth it! I have been looking for a great place to get street tacos and was hopeful this would be the place. Unfortunately they are good but not great. Casual restaurant, order at the counter and then find a seat. I got the 4 tacos plate and a drink. It was like $16 plus tax and tip. The drink was a SUPER TINY cup but was self service so I did refills. Had the Horchata and not a lot was left in the tank so it was a bit thick in consistency and not great. They have a nice salsa bar and I went for the habanero and it was good. Carne asada had a good seasoning to it. The disappointment was as in the tortillas. They were at least a day old and not great. What a fabulous place. Casual, authentic Mexican food. Service is fast and friendly. You order at the counter and they have a great great salsa/sides bar (think pickled veggies and onions, slaw, limes for garnish, jalapenos) and if you're eating in, they give you chips while you wait; your food is brought right to your table. I'm making it my goal to try everything on the menu but it's going to take a while. The burritos are huge and delicious and loaded with fillings and they don't skimp on the meat. Birria and Chile Colorado are my favorites, chicken is plentiful but tends to be a tiny bit on the bland side so the salsas come in handy for that. The platos are HUGE. The refried beans are the best I've had anywhere. Tacos are also great. Have not tried the fish ones yet but I have a friend who's currently addicted so I'm assuming they're good as well. I had pretty low expectations and was not expecting to get authentic Mexican food, but this is as real as it gets. The carne asada tacos are delicious! They give a plentiful amount of meat and the flavors were all there. I also ordered the caldo de res (beef soup) which had cabbage, potatoes and a good amount of meat in there as well.
