Two Carne Asada tacos & one grilled fish taco

Best tacos around in Los Barilles. After trying several other places out, we heard about this one and gave it a try. We ate here every single day thereafter until we left Los Barilles. The service is great and the place keeps nice and cool even on hot days with lots of shade and fans. The tacos come with only meat on them; the restaurant has a walk up kiosk with all the fixings you could possibly want and more to load up your tacos the way you like them. They are open for breakfast and close at 3pm. Hope you enjoy!

Amazing tacos! Topping bar is a great touch. I love that I could make my own tacos with as many toppings as I wanted. I craved them and came back the next morning. Fish is fresh. Scallops are great. Chicken has great flavor. I like the shrimp fried over grilled.

One of the best spots to go in Los Barriles, I went back here multiple times during my trip. Great for: Breakfast or Lunch Portions: huge portions (see my pics), endless free sides of Guac, Pico, onions, multiple types of hot peppers, salsa. Favorite dishes: Fish with Green Sauce (grilled or baked) delicious huge portion of fish, comes with homemade tortillas. Tacos are amazing. Breakfast (scrambled mexican) was also super tasty. Homemade tortillas = heaven. Great, affordable prices.

From the cucumbers clockwise-grilled fish, chicken, and steak.

Perfectly cooked, and crunchy in all the right places. The TOPPINGS... still drooling. Amazing tocos. And Juice, but I already forgot what it's called. YUM. It was crowded so you know the foods is good. Don't think you can go wrong here. Try something new!

Sit-down, outdoor taqueria. Breakfast and lunch. Good chorizo and eggs. Shrimp tacos are dynamite. Fantastic condiment bar. Friendly staff. You'll like it. Lots of taco choices. Many breakfast selections.

Food was excellent. Had shrimp and chicken tacos. Both were very good. Quaint little place that was quite busy.

You could easily miss it if you blink. ;) The three of us sat down at a table in the middle of the establishment. They had the fans going, but because they use a wood burning fire, it is very smokey and you will end up smelling like a barbecue. As long as you don't mind that, the food was really good. We started off with the camaron ceviche (shrimp/prawn). It was priced at $7.50 usd which I thought was a bit on the pricer side for mexico, but it was huge and easily enough for 3 people as an appetizer. The chips here are store bought, not homemade, but I didn't come here for the chips. Next up was the entree. I ordered camaron imperales ($14) - huge prawns with cheese wrapped in bacon. They were really good a little bit too much cheese for me, but still tasty. They boys split the Pirata Combination ($16) which was one camaron imperales, one coconut shrimp topped with banana, one seabass, one piece of octopus served with a potato on top of a salad. They boys loved the combo! They have a variety of soda, beer and wine. I stuck with a homemade lemonade which was made with sparkling water. Service was great, street parking was easy. For the quality of food, the prices are reasonable.

I have to say, Smokey's stands out as an American bar-restaurant in an otherwise Mexican resort town. Their Shrimp Linguini Alfredo rivals any we've had in the US. And their Pescado Vericruzano (Yellowtail Veracruz) is superb. Both are top examples of what you would expect from a seafood region, such as San Francisco or New Orleans. Smokey's is probably the hottest club atmosphere in town also - a mix of stylish singles, sport fishermen, and American ex-patriot retirees, all becoming friends over the topic of food, drink and sports playing on 3-4 big-screen TVs. Attire is what-ever's-comfortable. And the parking lot is SUVs and 4-wheel ATVs, side by side. And I must say, our waitress, Gloria, was glorious! A couple locals on guitars and bongos play for tips - regulars, obviously known to everyone. After a week of Mexican cuisine elsewhere (tacos, enchiladas, and endless guacamole), it's really refreshing to find a more American diversion. The only thing missing are steak entrees, Smoky's is clearly a seafood restaurant and bar!
