Best tacos around in Los Barilles. After trying several other places out, we heard about this one and gave it a try. We ate here every single day thereafter until we left Los Barilles. The service is great and the place keeps nice and cool even on hot days with lots of shade and fans. The tacos come with only meat on them; the restaurant has a walk up kiosk with all the fixings you could possibly want and more to load up your tacos the way you like them. Best tacos ever! We came here several days in a row and couldn't get enough. Hours are limited, so make sure you get there before they close (I believe at 3pm daily). The place is small, so seating is limited. Food comes out pretty fast though. We had shrimp tacos (grilled and fried), fish tacos (grilled and fried), chicken quesadillas, scallop tacos (grilled and fried). Everything was amazing! They give you the basic food and then you go add all the toppings and salsas that you want. The choices are endless. read more

One of the best spots to go in Los Barriles, I went back here multiple times during my trip. Great for: Breakfast or Lunch Portions: huge portions (see my pics), endless free sides of Guac, Pico, onions, multiple types of hot peppers, salsa. Favorite dishes: Fish with Green Sauce (grilled or baked) delicious huge portion of fish, comes with homemade tortillas. Tacos are amazing. Breakfast (scrambled mexican) was also super tasty. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't vouch for much on the menu, but every time I visit the area, everyone wants to eat here so they must be pretty good for all you meat and seafood eaters. I always order the chilaquiles, and it's not bad, but I wish they had verde sauce. I'd like it so much better. I had it with verde sauce next door at "La Fogata" and I wish they had a Yelp page, because it was so much better there (Their breakfast menu also includes something called The Gran Slam and it's pretty similar to the grand slam you'd find at a diner in the US and their pancakes are also super yummy!). As a vegetarian, I'd much rather eat at La Fogata. I also tried the rice here and that was amazing, not like the typical mexican rice you find in the US. The rice here is so much better. They have plenty of seating here and offer free wifi. Not a bad place, but they need more vegetarian options. read more

I like the variety but now that I think about it, the past 20 times I've been here, I've probably always gotten the same thing. I adore their grilled shrimp tacos. The salsa bar is fabulous! This place is busy and very popular! You could be waiting a while for a table, but the FISH tacos are well worth it. I had the carne asada tacos too, but they were not very good, stick with the fish, shrimp, scallops, etc. They were out of clam tacos today, so didn't get to try those. After they bring you tacos, you go over to the toppings buffet where they have different sauces, salsas, vegetables, etc. Service is fair, they take your order, bring your food, and then the check. They don't really follow up with anything else. CHEAP!!! Really really affordable for any budget! They don't take names or give you numbers, so you just have to grab a table when available. For example, there was a party of three waiting for a table for about 20 mins, we got up and this guy out of no where walks in and snags the table, even though there were several people in front of him waiting for a table. The food in Los barriles has become amazingly good we had great meals everywhere we ate with the exception of Caleb's our favorite spot is still this little taqueria. It's simple clean and fresh as it can get outstanding tacos and lunch specials and their breakfasts are about as good as anybody's if not better. We've tried to check out as many of the eating establishments as we can in our 2 week stay. We always find ourselves going back here. read more

Every time I return to this seaside community north of the Los Cabos airport on the Sea of Cortez I'm amazed how consistently good it is. The tacos, with the many condiments, dirt floor, lively and colorful decor, makes for an experience that is local in atmosphere that includes great food. Over the years, My family and I have munched down dozens of the taco specials and we still keep going back.
