Just chillin at Taqueria Los Chiles

A great tacos place which has few reviews as it appears Google is the local review site used here in Mazatlan. Rest assured the food here is fresh and for those of you that do not speak Spanish, they speak english just fine. Today i was taking a 30 minute walk South to the Malecon and noticed smoke pouring off the large grill out front. My kind of cooking! I was one of maybe 3 people in the large overhang at 3pm but every night this place is PACKED with locals. Many standing on the street waiting for a table. As I sit here the smoke smells so delicious you can taste the bbq pork and beef wafting by. It's all tacos here and quesadilla's so I ordered up a beef, pork and shrimp taco. All served boiling hot. Like may other places who usually have hot sauces, Los Chiles gives you marinated red onion, extra spicy salsa roja, guacamole, cucumber, radish, and limes. All the fixings you need for a great taco. The beef and pork were as tender as slicing butter bursting with flavor. The marinated meat, bbq'd on the grill with that great smoke flavor makes for a very tasty taco. The shrimp taco was great and they serve it here with fresh grilled onions sitting in that great bbq smoke. Yum! The shrimp is grilled with butter so it is very tasty. As I eat my way through Mazatlan every year for the past 10 years, I have always seen this place lit up at night and packed to the max. Now I know why. Make sure to put this on your taco stop. 4 stars

    Shrimp tacos...yum.

This place is the jam!!!! Do not miss it. Zero English from the waitress led me to the best shrimp tacos. Heard about this place down while down on the beach. Father-in-law ordered chicken tacos but received the shrimp tacos instead. He was going to send them back, but I stopped him and I ate it (didn't even use any of the delicious condiments that came with it). I shoved aside the two carne asada tacos that I ordered but hadn't begun to eat. I asked for two more shrimp tacos. DO NOT MISS OUT!! grilled in butter and seasoned just right. Highly recommend! Oh, and my hubby and F-I-L loved their food too. Yummy!!

Shrimp Chorreada. Sensational. Fresh masa, hand pressed. Tons of fresh shrimp

This is that quintessential taqueria you look for when you head down to Mexico. Plastic chairs set up along the street. A few workers set up behind a hot ass grill, waiting to cook up some goodness. They don't have a menu to give you. Look at the board. Use your best broken Spanish to order. But whatever you do, make sure to order the Chorreada and/or the Vampiro. Vampiro is close to what you think a tostada would be, but so much more. Beans and cheese on a crispy grilled tortilla and then topped with your meat of choice. Chorreadas are similar with the beans and cheese but it's bigger and the masa is a little thicker and chewy yet still crispy on the outside. All the meat choices were tasty. The shrimp is always a go to choice when in Mazatlan. The salsas they give are excellent. Tasty. Hot. Smokey. It's amazing how each taqueria can be so different from the one right next door. Give this one a try, it's excellent. And then wait an hour and try the next one down the block. They're all good.

Good tacos. Super fresh. Nice staff. Even though it's in the tourist district, it felt decently authentic.

Came here looking for some delicious tacos, and we chose the right spot! Our taxi driver, suggested this place and even joined us for lunch. He said it is a popular spot among locals. The tacos were so good and had so much flavor. The table was ready with all the works (limes, salsas, guacamole, etc). 5 stars!

OMG! Is all I can say. This is a hidden gem. We were the only Gringos in the place. Everything is fresh and homemade! Don't look for a menu though. You get an explanation at the table. Thank goodness my husband speaks some Spanish! Try everything. This is not a touristy place to eat. We loved everything!

The meat was not that great, it had a lot of chewy fat. You're better off ordering a quesadilla.

Great tacos. The meat is delicious and the price is right. This is one of the top taco places we have gone me to.

Food was excellent - shrimp quesadilla and steak tacos were both very tasty and cooked perfectly on a grill.

I started with Robert's Margarita, a delicious and colorful take on the drink. One of the house specialties is the Chicken Marsala, which I accompanied with pureed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Naan is also good. Simply fantastic flavors in everything. The dessert was phenomenal. A dark chocolate brownie with a caramel sauce and topped with hazelnut ice cream. Again, the combination of textures and flavors will guarantee a clean plate. Agatha's reminds me of some of the better places in Palm Springs, CA. Their cuisine truly sets them apart from restaurants anywhere.

Also the warm beet (betabel) salad with goat cheese and pistachios - fabulous! I don't remember it being warm before, but it was great. The only disappointment was the Camarones Crunchy, which was small chewy shrimp, not crunchy at all, on top of a creamy base. We told the server we had been brought the wrong dish, as the shrimp weren't crunchy. She said, no, that's the dish. A manager came over and said that yes, that was the crunchy shrimp dish. Unbelievable. They did finally take the dish off the bill, but we were disappointed that we didn't get a good shrimp dish. The Robert's Margarita was excellent as usual.
