I've been a fan of Taranto's for several years. I first discovered them around 2015 when I was working in Lewis Center. I ended up ordering from them at least a couple times a month. At least once a month we would place a group order at my office and everybody loved it. I know that the ownership changed a couple years ago, but it's still the same great pizza and service! I've never eaten at the restaurant but I have gone in there a few times for pick up orders and it's always clean and neat and customers always seem to be happy. We received a coupon in the mail for a free medium, two topping pizza because we recently moved into the neighborhood. Before I talk about the food, I have to talk about the friendliness. Such welcoming and kind people! We were greeted immediately upon arrival and the staff talked to us like we were actually their neighbors. Highly pleased with every interaction we had. Now for the food: delicious! We ordered the garlic bread with cheese and a pepperoni/mushroom pizza. The garlic bread was excellent. I personally liked that it wasn't saturated with cheese, which really helped the toasted bread stay crunchy. Perfect amount of garlic too. Our pizza met our expectations and then some. I'm a carb fanatic, so I always pay attention to the crust on pizzas. This dough was exactly what I wanted. It was fluffy and had just the right amount of chewiness. I'm not sure if it had garlic sprinkled on it, but it was scrumptious. Not too heavy on the sauce, but plenty of cheese! Also, the amount of toppings provided seemed reasonable. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but quaint and has a cute enclosed outdoor seating area. It would be perfect for events especially since you can rent it out. Moved to Powell a year ago and once we stumbled across this place we have yet to go anywhere else! We typically order it to-go and their wait times aren't bad at all even on a Friday or Saturday night. Their messaging system is great, it lets you know when your pizza is going in the oven so you can accurately time out when to head on over. Now onto the food... INCREDIBLE. The pizza dough is thick and soft with the perfect amount of crispiness. They add plenty of toppings and the sauce is great too. A surprising must-order for us now is their side Caesar salad. First time here. Had heard so much about their Tarantasaurus huge pizza. Called it in and they said 35-40 minutes, I told them no problem won't be there for an hour. Got there and they gave me my big pizza but was waiting on a gluten free pizza. Went ahead and put the big one in the trunk and went back and waited another 10 minutes for the next one. They bring out two non gluten free pizzas saying it was ours. Come to find out they made a mistake and had given me the wrong order. We went back to the trunk and took out the pizza and brought it back in. Poor lady was there to pick up her pizzas that they had given to us watched us walk it back in and they turned around and handed it off to her with no explanation. Ordered pizza for delivery. I hate anything and everything tomato (I know, weird) so I ordered it with no sauce. It arrived with sauce all over. I double checked the attached receipt and it stated "no sauce." I tried calling the restaurant 4 times over a course of 20 minutes to see if I could get a new pizza made or get my money back. First time at Taranto's. A nice, family-style pizza place next to Fleet Feet. We received a friendly greeting at arrival and the restaurant appears to be doing well with COVID protocols. We decided to stop by for pizza and beer week. We ordered an appetizer, zucchini sticks ($5.50). They arrived in a timely manner, were hot and fresh. The breading was light and crisp, the ranch was a perfect accompaniment. We also ordered the Our Family's Favorite pizza with hand tossed crust (choice between that and thin crust). It was good! I love supporting independent pizzerias. But I had disappointing experience at Taranto's Pizzeria. I had higher hopes. Take a look at the pic of my $10 dollar mini pizza - smaller than my hand. My order was messed up and served without pepperoni - cheese only. It reminded me of those .99 cent frozen pizzas my mom would buy at the grocery store. Blande taste, served lukewarm. Also, I got an Italian submarine sandwich for which I had higher hopes - it was worse: served cold. No flavor like those ready made subs you buy at Walmart. Thumbs down, sorry, but Taranto's didn't do anything for me and I wouldn't return. I should have gone to Donatos. Too many other options. read more

#thankyouthursday I'd driven by Taranto's a few times but had never given it a try. I decided to order take out, on a whim, while on a treadmill (Yes, pre-covid, and yes, I'm surprised myself I didn't fall off). The young lady who took my order made some great recommendations on fillings for a calzone and I also tried an appetizer. Taranto's has since become a go-to when I'm craving anything cheesy, hearty, or just something comforting like a piping hot, 4-meat calzone. Every single person I've ever interacted with has been friendly, courteous, and never judges when I order enough for 3 people and its all for me. No matter what I get here, the taste has always been amazing. Nothing however, tops my personalized calzone. A great thing about Taranto's is they can somehow find all your previous orders, which makes placing orders a snap. I can't really tell you what is in my calzone, only that it is perfect. We've been driving by this place forever but never tried it until now! The pizza was really great. I didn't care for the Stromboli as much, but mostly because I wasn't involved in picking the toppings. The sausage was a little spicy. I didn't care for the texture of the mushrooms, and the green peppers would have been much better if they were cooked a little before going in. As it was they were almost raw. Definitely loved the pizza though, and I would try the Stromboli again with other add ins. read more

Solid pizza! Growing up in Pickerington, I worked at the concession stand at the baseball fields right across the street from a Taranto's. We sold their pizza at the concessions and would eat what was left at the end of the night. It was also the spot to be after your team finished their games. Th is took me right back to the days at the baseball fields whether it was working at the concession stand or stopping by after my game was over. Loved it then and love it now. Unfortunately, the Pickerington one closed down so I'm glad to know there's a Taranto's semi-close to us :) We ordered for pizza and beer week. It's tucked away in a strip mall technically in Lewis Center. It comes highly recommended. We weren't misled that's for sure. A new find for our family! It may be our second favorite pizza in the Cbus area. It's a little pricey but worth it. We tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza, the Meaty Works and the Ultimate Hawaiian. We chose the 14 inch and the hand tossed as well as the garlic bread with cheese. It seemed to have so much flavor and the pizza sauce they used was great. Taranto's has always been my favorite pizza! Amazing dough that's crispy and yet perfectly glutenous. Toppings are always delicious and fresh and though rare when they make a mistake they always make it right! Debbie (I think it was her name, perhaps the owner) once visited my school for career day in elementary school and liked the personal pizza I made so much she offered me a job when I grew up! I'll never forget that, and then she was a regular at UDF when I worked there and gave me her business card one of the first times I served her icecream/ milkshakes.. I hope she sees this because her personality and her family business has had such a positive impact on me I wish I would've taken her generous offer years ago because I would make pizzas with pride using such amazing recipes read more
