Gluten free pizza with vegan cheese, Ezzo pepperoni, Italian sausage, and banana peppers
    Samantha A.

As someone who is gluten & dairy intolerant, I am SOOOO glad I found Taranto's! I feel like I am eating normal pizza here. Their Ezzo pepperoni and Italian sausage are delicious. Staff are always friendly and order always ready on time/accurate.

Good pizza, friendly employees, and a neat little modern pizzeria vibe. I discovered Taranto's from a google search, stopped by, did a walk-in order. I ordered a large hand-tossed Our Family Favorite (cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and sausage). Pizza was ready in about 15 minutes and took it home to enjoy. It was so good and we loved the truth.

We ordered half Zesty Buffalo Chicken and half Vegetarian Works, it was delicious! We loved the crust!! The vibe of restaurant is OK, and the staff were super friendly! Will come back soon!

Moved to Powell a year ago and once we stumbled across this place we have yet to go anywhere else! We typically order it to-go and their wait times aren't bad at all even on a Friday or Saturday night. Their messaging system is great, it lets you know when your pizza is going in the oven so you can accurately time out when to head on over. Now onto the food... INCREDIBLE. The pizza dough is thick and soft with the perfect amount of crispiness. They add plenty of toppings and the sauce is great too. A surprising must-order for us now is their side Caesar salad. Its croutons and tomatoes are amazing in a way I can't even describe. We've tried the Italian sub and it's really great too. Without a doubt, this place is a 10/10.

It's a no. Ordered a veggie pizza to go on a whim and the bottom of the pizza was straight mush and the pizza was undercooked. I had to immediately put it in the oven to try to bake and crisp the bottom of the pizza. But welp that Didn't really help. The portions of veggies on this thing looked like someone just threw a whole can of olives, whole chopped onion and whole pepper on this thing. Super disappointing for a local pizzeria. Would've been better off going to Marco's pizza which is a local chain. The pictures you see when googling are extremely misleading. Don't do it , I mean unless you like gummy pizza. Then hey, do your thing...

Proof of order they screwed up.

Only good thing was the fact that the order was ready on time. Ordered half cheese half pepperoni pizza for my kids, came with all pepperoni. Ordered Italian sub , no onions, no tomatoes. It came with both. 2 Caesar salads, one came with Ranch dressing, one came with caesar dressing. Won't be ordering from this place again.

We received a coupon in the mail for a free medium, two topping pizza because we recently moved into the neighborhood. Before I talk about the food, I have to talk about the friendliness. Such welcoming and kind people! We were greeted immediately upon arrival and the staff talked to us like we were actually their neighbors. Highly pleased with every interaction we had. Now for the food: delicious! We ordered the garlic bread with cheese and a pepperoni/mushroom pizza. The garlic bread was excellent. I personally liked that it wasn't saturated with cheese, which really helped the toasted bread stay crunchy. Perfect amount of garlic too. Our pizza met our expectations and then some. I'm a carb fanatic, so I always pay attention to the crust on pizzas. This dough was exactly what I wanted. It was fluffy and had just the right amount of chewiness. I'm not sure if it had garlic sprinkled on it, but it was scrumptious. Not too heavy on the sauce, but plenty of cheese! Also, the amount of toppings provided seemed reasonable. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but quaint and has a cute enclosed outdoor seating area. It would be perfect for events especially since you can rent it out. Definitely recommend this local business!

Easy, peasy on-line ordering spun a custom pie in my direction. 30 minutes later, I'm a happy camper on my way back to my hotel room. Family owned pizzerias have all the advantages over big box purveyors of pizza. Unlimited advertising? Nope. Fancy websites and snappy menus? Nadda. Expertly designed dining rooms with matching decor? Fuhgeddaboudit. So, what's their edge? Damn. Good. Food. Take all the Domino's, Donatos, Little Ceasars, and Pizza Hut and flush 'em down the toilet. They may be fancy, but they're crap when stacked against a Mom-n-Pop shop like Taranto's. Looking to rekindle your love affair with locally made pie? Has the temperature set at searing on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Go here.

Use to love this place... we spontaneously decided to go tonite and boy have they changed. Pizza was over cooked , dry, and made up as mostly outer rim.

First time here. Had heard so much about their Tarantasaurus huge pizza. Called it in and they said 35-40 minutes, I told them no problem won't be there for an hour. Got there and they gave me my big pizza but was waiting on a gluten free pizza. Went ahead and put the big one in the trunk and went back and waited another 10 minutes for the next one. They bring out two non gluten free pizzas saying it was ours. Come to find out they made a mistake and had given me the wrong order. We went back to the trunk and took out the pizza and brought it back in. Poor lady was there to pick up her pizzas that they had given to us watched us walk it back in and they turned around and handed it off to her with no explanation. Waited 20 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready and it finally came out.

We took our softball team and their families for dinner on July 6. They offered a perfect room for our crew (of almost 40). The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend! Be sure to try the Alfredo Pesto pizza - and Shannon's homemade ranch!

Just flew back into town and was greeted by a spread of Taranto's Pizza upon returning to my sister and brother in law's home. It was the perfect compliment to football. Very satisfying after a day of flying. Everything warmed up well and I found myself going back for slices of the buffalo chicken!

Ordered pizza for delivery. I hate anything and everything tomato (I know, weird) so I ordered it with no sauce. It arrived with sauce all over. I double checked the attached receipt and it stated "no sauce." I tried calling the restaurant 4 times over a course of 20 minutes to see if I could get a new pizza made or get my money back. Every time I got a message that the person at the extension is not available and it would go to voicemail. Spent over $20 on pizza and ended up eating cereal for dinner.

Now my life has changed, and I can take advantage of lunch at these places. Completely empty at noon on a weekday, a little disturbing. But, better than not being able to get in. Classy inside, nice seating options, quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent service throughout. Large sushi menu, plus hot entrees, many apps, etc. A lot I wanted to try. But I had to start with the crab Rangoon tarts. Never seen it this way. Three fairly small tartlets, nice crust, with a dollop of "Rangoon" filling. Could have used more in each tart, but tasty enough. The sauce is a little zippier than most for crab Rangoon. Good, different, not amazing. And that pretty much describes the rest of the meal. Were my expectations too high? Nothing was bad, everything was pretty good, but not amazing. I had the Red Scorpion roll next. Mid-sized, a nice roll of kani, tuna, avocado, and more, topped with several sauces. Barely fit each piece in my mouth. Tasty, but again not amazing. Not what I expected from a place like this with reviews this high. A little heat, far from the spicy suggested by the name and reviews. Also had unagi and toro nigiri. Again, good, not great. Neither was as tender as I'd hoped, though decent all in all. Flavors were good on the unagi, and the toro was somewhat buttery/creamy but not on par with others I've had. Hmph. Cost was not bad, considering the decor of the place and that it's sushi. I left full but not overstuffed. I'd come back, maybe for a date night. But it's not incredible, and I guess I fell for the buzz.

My wife specifically requested coming here for one thing--their Big Daddy Chocolate Cake (her absolute favorite). We made a reservation and were seated right on time, which was a great start. Shortly after, we were greeted by our server, Nighajah, and she immediately set the tone for the night. She was incredibly friendly, super outgoing, and just had this upbeat energy that made you feel welcome right away. We explained that we had already eaten dinner elsewhere and were just there for dessert to celebrate. Nighajah let us know they offer a complimentary crème brûlée cheesecake for birthdays, which was a nice surprise, but we told her we had our hearts set on the chocolate cake (which comes with vanilla ice cream). When dessert arrived, she went above and beyond--bringing not only the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake but the cheesecake as well. Such an awesome and unexpected gesture! Then came the biggest surprise of the night... when the bill came, they told us everything was on the house. We were honestly shocked. Since we hadn't ordered anything else, it didn't feel right accepting both desserts for free, so I insisted on paying for the chocolate cake--but the gesture itself meant a lot. Nighajah truly made the entire experience special with her positive attitude and great service. Firebirds is lucky to have her--she's the kind of person who makes you want to come back. We'll definitely be back again soon!

The restaurant was busy, which is understandable, but what followed was a sequence of service failures that no establishment, especially one positioning itself as polished and guest‑forward, should ever allow. We were seated and then left completely unattended for ten full minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When our server finally arrived, she was pleasant, and we ordered drinks and the Philly egg rolls. I also asked for recommendations on the pastas and clearly stated that I am allergic to cilantro. Her response? Every pasta dish contains cilantro. Odd, considering none of the menu descriptions mention it. Wanting to be safe, I ordered a Caesar salad, assuming it was the least risky option. Then the egg rolls arrived -- and to my absolute shock, they were garnished with cilantro. A dish we ordered after I disclosed my allergy. When I pointed it out, the server's response was dismissive at best, negligent at worst: "Oh, it's just a garnish. You can wipe it off." This is not only incorrect -- it's dangerous. Cross‑contact is real, and allergies are not optional preferences. Needless to say, I did not eat them. Later, when the manager came to clear plates, I calmly suggested that cilantro should be listed in the description since it appears on multiple dishes. His reaction? Indifference. No apology, no concern, no acknowledgment -- he simply walked away. At that point, the message was clear: Guest safety was not a priority. Guest experience was not a priority. Accountability was not a priority. Final Verdict Firebirds delivered an experience that was not just disappointing -- it was absolutely unacceptable. From the long wait to the allergy dismissal to the apathetic management, the entire evening reflected a breakdown in training, communication, and basic hospitality standards. This was abhorrent behavior, and we will not be returning.
