AVOID AVOID AVOID Let me start by saying I used to go to target all the time. Good for household items.with decent prices. Pharmacist is always helpful. However, lately, especially this location, it's not worth the trip. Products are cheap. Appliances do not last past 3 months. The place itself is a mess all the time.. Always something to break your back on. I've seen so many people slip on things that employees just ignore. I actually picked up an opened razor that one of the employees left after opening boxes. It was in the arts/crafts section. When I gave it to an employee, he just started laughing and said "oh boy imagine a kid saw this". I didn't think that was funny . Target doesn't seem to care about how their stores look or customer service in general. Maybe if they lose enough money this quarter or have to close more stores they would start caring about their customers. read more

Is this store going out of business? In the past year, every time I visit this store it is worse. Employees that ignore you unless they are asking you to move out of their way are the nicest you will encounter. In fact, most will try to mow you over as they chat on their phones. I guess they got rid of the overnight crew because the aisles (I mean MOST of the aisles) are blocked by boxes, carts full of returns, and racks of new merchandise at any time of the day. If you are handicapped, absolutely avoid this store as it is so far from ADA compliant I am surprised they haven't been reported. There is little in stock, many shelves are absolutely bare...do they want customers to shop from the boxes stacked on hand carts? Today's trip also included a produce and meat aisle that stunk of rotting animal, no joke. I frequent this store because it is the closest to me, but I'm seriously considering driving to Wayne from now on. read more

Beware of mispriced items in this store. Of just nine items bought today, two scanned higher than marked. One was an on-sale grocery item, the other was an item not on sale, regularly priced at $5.49 but scanned at $8.29! After paying I went back to double-check the prices and sure enough I was correct. I went to the Customer Service desk and was given refunds for the differences, but I think I should have been given the items for free, as some supermarkets do to prove that they really do care when they make errors and over-charge customers. This should be Target's policy if they want to be known as a company that is dedicated to good customer experience. Instead, I did all of the leg-work, wasting 10-15 minutes of my time, to prove that I was over-charged. I got the proper price ultimately, but no Target employee apologized, seemed to care about my inconvenience, nor did I get the impression that anyone was going to correct the problem after I left. If I had nothing better to do, I'd go back later today and see if those items scan wrongly again. read more

I wish I didn't have to give this target any stars. Poor, poor customer service. Every time I go in there are 10-12 customers with FULL carts WAITING at the only TWO open registers. They need to focus on hiring people rather than just walking around. I had a cart worth $400 and I left it and walked out. This is terrible service ... You should never let a customer walk out the door. Find a way to staff your store and I'll think about frequently your location again. Absolutely horrible. read more

Go to their Electronics Dept. and you get treated by intelligent and helpful salespeople. Go to the stockers who are bent over the low shelves restocking items? Will go to great lengths to see that you get the product you want. Shelves are neat, too! Lots of products. Go to customer service and they handle any issue quickly and efficiently-and with a smile!....................But.............Go to the front end and they kick you in the back end!...............Seldom seen it any other way there. Christ said to save the best wine for last. Not at Target Store. My last memory in Clifton........almost no exceptions, is that they mistreated me at the register! Target Stocks sunk, what, 25% last year? And, to boot, Target employees are heavily invested in Target stock through their 401K. None or this makes any sense at all. But, one decision I have made-to locate my nearest Walmart (over ten miles away where Target store is only five or so) and start going there. You know what you can do with your Martha Stewart products, folks. Besides, she had the good sense to start selling them at Penney's. This must be why. read more

If you can, avoid this target. I come here because it's super close to my apartment but it really needs to step up it's game. The lines at check out are always long because they only open 3 out of the 20 registers they have. I'm no mathematician but those numbers just don't add up! read more

There are literally 20 checkout lanes. Yet they only open three lanes, leaving about twenty people to queue up and waiting up to twenty minutes to check out. This location is so poorly managed compared to other locations that it's pretty sad. read more

Worst gaming console launch I've ever experienced. Went this morning for the release of the Majoras Mask New 3DS. I arrived around 6:45 to see about six people already standing in line. No big deal. I walked up and some tells me how many of the consoles Target actually has in stock. First off, after working retail, you DON'T give out numbers to ANYONE! I believe the guy that told me how many were in was either an employee or just friends with those that worked there as he seemed to know a few of the people leaving the locked building. Next 3 people that were in their car come strolling up to the front of the line at about 20 minutes till 8. We end up having a heated confrontation, when they state that their stuff was holding their place at the door. So, if I leave my coffee cup and go get warm in my car, does that mean coffee cup is holding my place? That was just absolute BS. When the store opened, I confronted a guard AND the manager regarding the matter. Neither seemed to give to craps about the issue. Target needs to take a page from the Best Buy book. When you have a console launch, don't allow your employees to give out exact stock numbers, which would allow them to tell friends and have them all wait for the product. On launch days, best buy will hand out tickets to those in line until they have all been handed out. This is a great method. It quells fights before they even begin. I ended up leaving with a different version, which I might return when what I want arrives. read more

This is my second time coming to this target and I was once again disappointed. They had 3 cashiers open and the lines all had more than 6 people waiting in line. The young lady in HBA was stocking was great she did her best to find merchandise for me. However once I got to the cashier the experience changed the cashiers along with the head cashiers are all very nasty and mean. Please target corp train these cashier on coupons please it is so annoying to be just told anything before they even scan the coupon. I carry the policy printed in my bag and have it available on my phone. They were trying to tell me I could not use paper coupon, cartwheel and 20% of beauty. I like shopping here. My only regret is that this store is not as close to my city as I would like. This Target has well stocked shelves and good customer service overall.. There is a nice selection of items here for sale and a good clearance sale area for various products. There is much needed variety here. This Target is clean and well organized. I come to this store on a regular basis and always find what I need from food to home goods. Sometimes I plan to shop for a few things and leave with more items. I am in and out in a short amount of time when I have to get going. It is even better that this store works well with my fast paced lifestyle. The lines move at a normal pace which appeals to me very much. read more

Tonight I visited my local Target in Clifton Nj. I needed to pick up Similac Organic (ready to feed) which honestly is very difficult to fine. (Low inventory) I approach guest services to buy 6. I just needed them to price match because Walmart has it for $7.28 when I am told no I can only price match one. I found it shocking when 3nights prior I bought 4 and Target price match without a problem. How can you choose when to price match different quantity? Today 4 tomorrow only 1 really?!? I was humiliated not to mention the lady behind volunteer to purchase an extra one for me and they told her NO! I was in total disbelief that 2016 and we can't help each other out. I wasn't stealing this milk. I wasn't asking target for a hand out. I wasn't asking the state of New Jersey for food stamps. Simply a hard working independent mother and taxpayer by all means handling household duties. At the lowest cost possible. I relocated to NJ from CA. I've been to the Clifton Target a few times now. So far, the people handling the cash registers aren't friendly and just seem unhappy. Today, November 7, 2015, I asked the lady behind the cash register if she doesn't mind double bagging my groceries. The items I purchased were heavy and I find it easier to carry heavy items when double bagged. Her response was, "Yes, I do mind but I'll do it anyway." She wasn't cracking a joke. And after bagging, she didn't gently place my bags down...she kind of threw it down. And during my past visits, the people behind the cash registers never smiled and just seem unpleasant. They probably have a lot of things going on but if you're in a customer service role, I believe you just have to put aside whatever troubles you have and be courteous to customers. I return to Clifton Target because it's the closest Target. I do want to add the sales associates on the floor ARE very kind, respectful and courteous. They're very helpful and they smile. read more
