The mosque is clean and spacious, and a great place to spiritually unwind. During Ramadan, they serve dates and water everyday, and after Maghrib, there is a full community Iftari as well. They have three Friday prayers: 12.10, 1.10, and 2.10, though the timings go back an hour during the daylight savings months. My only complaint is that I wish they would install more fans/ventilation in the basement and upper floors, because it gets very hot there during Jumah with all the people present.

Known as "The Masj." Oh wait, isn't that a Jim Carrey movie?…read more I'm not religions, b ut, and I must emphasize this point, I can taq a lot from a beautiful religious building. This particular Mosque towers over The Danforth, one of my favourite parts of Toronto, where all the Greek restaurants are, along with a lot of other ethnic stuff. I haven't been inside, but I've toured the grounds from the outside, and it's utterly beautiful. I find Mosques to be spectacular to look at, and much like Cathedrals and Churches, I think they add a lot to the aesthetics and feel of a place. In the West, they are a reminder of how multicultural and multi-faceted the nations are. If only we could live up to those values in our laws and our treatment of everyone.

Overall nice masjid…read more Ulema are good and community is also good. Madrasa is busy, but it's frustrating to pray when there are 3-4 classes taking place in the prayer area. Makes it worse when the teachers of those classes are yelling obnoxiously too. The masjid doesn't offer enough english programs, and you get a feeling it mainly caters to an older urdu speaking group of men. This is a turn off for young'ins, and for those who don't share that culture. Mufti Ibrahim Qureshi is a very cool scholar who has worked with youth throughout his life and they are lucky to have him there. It's unfortunate that recently he has announced he's leaving. Path to Piety is another huge event for this masjid and usually takes place during the Easter weekend. The masjid doesn't look very fancy from the outside, but it relatively neat inside.
