Really enjoy eating at Taru. Service is great especially John. They do a great job making what you request. We wanted light on the rice with our fish pieces.

We are back again and I'm sure John won't remember us. We car late at night after concerts few months back and had wonderful service by John and excellent sashimi. This time we are back since we fed the kids and wife craving for a great sushi. Ordered Shaginiyan platter and uni pasta to share including oyster. All was marvelous and tasty. This place can get busy and super busy but the 2 host/server maintain all spectacularly. I do feel bad for them running around and even though we waited the good side we get sake for free that keep flowing while we wait so no harm done. They know how to take care their customers. Give this a try and you will be amazed how great their food is. This place screams great first date ambiance. It's so romantics with plenty of drinks to choose from and of course John is the master mixer.

We decided to visit Taru on a whim on a random Thursday night. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were greeted by a very nice server whose name I now no longer recall. I am so sorry. I ordered an old fashioned which took a little bit longer to come out. As a result of that, the server made it super special and turned it into a smoked old fashioned. What a nice touch/service recovery. Everything we had here was divine as shown on the pictures. The sushi was fresh and the oysters, albeit being tiny, packed so much flavor. The Uni pasta was interesting, but in a good way. I would say the price point is truly warranted because of the quality of the fish and other dishes, as well as the exemplary service that is provided during the meal. The server even asked for our names and shook our hands as we were about to leave. I hope that Taru stays in business for a long, long time. We will be back to support, no doubt.

We checked out Taru for the first time last weekend. The ambience is great for date night vibes. The staff is warm, attentive, ajd knowledgeable. We opted for the spicy margarita, half dozen raw oysters, pork belly, chicken thigh, and short rib skewers, mussels and clams, and an assortment of nigeri. The oysters and nigeri were some of the best I've had in Vegas so far. A great sushi spot when you want to dine off the strip!

Tried Taru and it was really good! Very fresh, tasty and clean food. The 10 piece nigiri, Ala carte sushi ( 2 piece min) were all delicious! Joon, thank you for nice service. Only complaint was miso soup came out lukewarm- should be very hot. We will be back again for sure!

We came before the BSB concert on Sunday at like 530 surprisingly it wasn't more full here. We got seated right away and ordered hot tea. They have a really extensive menu and we had settled on a few things to order. We got the truffle salmon sashimi, chu toro roll, winter flower roll, creamy salmon, koki wrap, soft shell crab roll. The highlights were the truffle salmons sashimi, chu toro roll and the koki wrap. All the rolls didn't have too much rice which was excellent but some of them weren't that many pieces. We weren't super hungry but some didn't get to try some rolls. Total for 5 w/tax & tip:$280

Located off the strip but worth a short drive. Probably some of the best sushi I've tried. Very fresh fish. Highly recommend smoked sashimi appetizer. 5/5. We tried a few different rolls, sashimi salad, miso soup and finished the dinner with green tea tempura ice cream. All very good. Restaurant itself is a beautiful venue with contemporary interior design, open concept kitchen and lovely lighting fixtures. Service was great, helpful and genuine. We will be back when visiting Vegas. Many thanks for the yummy dinner and hospitality!

Still happy with this place. Excellent service and fresh, delicious food. Always over order here because everything is so good.

Another good sushi place in Vegas. Chinatown that is not all you can eat. They have great selection of sushi and sashimi - good quality of fish. They also had some Japanese pasta dish - the uni pasta is pretty good. They have good cocktails and Japanese beer selection. Server is great and helpful. Place is big and not crowded. Ample of parking sharing the Macys lot.

Nice atmosphere. Seated immediately. Started with a lychee Martini, they add st Germaine like Din Tai Fung does with their pear lychee martini. Very good drink. They had a variety of fresh Japanese sashimi including a number a fish I had never heard of we ordered 4 different Nigiri, fish from Japan that were not on the menu but available tonight, $5 each . I added amberjack and red snapper which I always like. I also ordered dragon roll and 420 roll. (No there's no marijauna on it) everything was not the best sushi I ever had but definitely no complaints.

It's not every day you stumble upon a brand-new sushi spot that instantly earns a place on your favorites list--but that's exactly what happened when I visited this somewhat newly opened sushi restaurant on Spring Mountain Road. Nestled among the vibrant mix of Asian eateries in the area, this place is already setting itself apart with super fresh ingredients, artful presentation, and a team that clearly knows (and loves) what they're doing. Let's start with the ambiance. The interior is modern, minimalist, and warm, with subtle wood accents and soft lighting that creates a calming, Zen-like vibe without feeling too formal or cold. You immediately get the sense that this is a space where both quality and experience matter. Whether you're out for a relaxed dinner with friends or a quiet sushi date, the setting strikes a perfect balance between casual comfort and upscale presentation. There's bar seating if you want to watch the sushi chefs in action, and it's worth it--the precision and care they take with each roll is truly mesmerizing. But the regular tables are just as comfortable and give you a great view of the beautiful plating that comes to your table. Now, onto the star of the show: the sushi. Every piece of fish we had was unbelievably fresh--clean, buttery, and rich in flavor without a hint of fishiness. You can taste the difference immediately. We started with a simple yet elegant sashimi platter, and each slice (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and scallop) was immaculate in cut, temperature, and texture. The tuna practically melted in my mouth, and the scallop was sweet and delicately briny in all the right ways. From there, we tried a few signature rolls, and they blew us away. One featured spicy tuna topped with seared salmon and a tangy yuzu drizzle--it was a flavor bomb in the best way. Another standout was their house special with unagi, avocado, and tempura flakes, delivering the perfect balance of creamy, crispy, and smoky. Even the rice--which is so often overlooked--was perfectly seasoned and just the right temperature. That attention to detail really speaks to the restaurant's commitment to quality. We also tried a miso soup and a small plate of shishito peppers while waiting, and both were great touches that made the experience feel even more complete. We highly recommend this sushi restaurant to sushi lovers !

Not much stood out in our dinner. The unagi nigiri and yellowtail sashimi were the best items but not good enough to draw me back in, which would make it consistent with a 2 star rating on my chart. 4 stars Unagi Yellowtail 3 stars Salmon belly Hokkaido scallop sashimi Dynamite Blue crab roll 2 stars Chutoro roll Soft shell crab roll Crunchy roll Uni pasta - this was bland and rather disappointing

Fortunately, the wait was only about 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. I ordered the soft-shell crab, baked green mussels, and BBQ ribs with steamed rice. My son ordered the yoshu ramen and fried rice. The food came out fairly quickly, but I noticed that the baked mussels never arrived. When I asked our waitress about it, she said the kitchen was backed up. However, after waiting more than 30 minutes and already finishing the rest of our meal, it felt like the order may have simply been forgotten. What disappointed me most was the lack of an apology. The waitress even asked if I still wanted the mussels at that point. I was ready to cancel the order, but Kyo stepped in and tried to make things right. Thanks to his efforts, the mussels arrived about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, when the mussels finally arrived, I was disappointed again. They were prepared very differently from the baked green mussels I'm used to getting at restaurants in Los Angeles. They were quite spicy, which wasn't mentioned, and the flavor just wasn't what I expected. After waiting more than 40 minutes for them, they definitely weren't worth the wait. Overall, the food was decent, and the restaurant was busy and energetic, but the service mishap and the disappointing mussels left me with mixed feelings about the experience. I do appreciate Kyo's effort to make things right, as he was the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating situation.

It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture. Our favorites were definitely the eel and scallop skewers.
