I was at taste and see this am an did not have the best experience. First off I wanted soup and grilled cheese. The waitress said sorry we don't have any soup today I am like ok I will have a poutine pls. My wife ordered a veggie burger and it was really good! But as they brought out her food she said sorry the gravy is not good so do you want to make another order? At this point I was not having any of it! I said we'll sorry by the time my food would be ready my wife will be done so no thanks! We had a reservation for 11 :15 am..was almost an hour before our meals were delivered. The food was good but $42 for a burger,sweet potato fries ,dip,and a lemonade I felt was outrageous..it stated on the menu that if you asked for sweet potato fries additional cost was $5 .. ok but I was charged $9.95 . .I was in a hurry and didn't have time to peruse the bill , when I posted on their site my review it was deleted ...CHECK YOUR BILL B4 YOU LEAVE !!I contacted Sylvia and was advised that there was a technical issue with their system that day and she apologized for the errors..I appreciated the acknowledgement and the apology and I do understand stuff happens so that is why I adjusted my rating read more

Stopped here on way from PEI to states and was not disappointed. Loved it. Had the gourmet burger... great mix of flavors. Sweet potato poutine was the bomb. Service was attentive. Presentation was creative and well done. Others tried salads that were very good. read more

This is a hidden gem in the heart of Main St. Sussex. The food is absolutely delicious and clearly scratch made , right down to the lemonade. The staff is friendly and efficient. The place is very clean. We will be back again. Just have to build the courage to try the bacon peanut butter burger ! read more

We found Taste & See on a provision trip to the Atlantic Superstore in Sussex, the closest decent food store (we could find), from Fundy National Park in Alma. The Yelp reviews were great so we thought we'd stay in town for lunch, and we are glad that we did! The falafel was wonderful, crisp and full of flavor. I tasted cilantro which I thought was an excellent addition. We also loved the picked onions, and the creamy feta The coffee was wonderful too. Too bad we didn't have room for dessert :( Definitely going back next time we are in the area! read more

After driving quite a distance out of our way we hoped "Taste and See" would be worth it. In a word, it WAS. Not just a good breakfast, but a memorable one. Perfect omelette, home made jam/marmalade, and outstanding coffee. If we're ever remotely close we'll be here again. read more

I arrived to this restaurant while traveling on the highway because of the positive reviews --all true! The atmosphere is excellent. The staff is very friendly. The menu is diverse and creative --so refreshing! I sat close to the counter from which you can see the kitchen. I appreciated seeing a committed chef and a friendly work environment. I debated for a long time what to get and finally settled for the Bacon Peanut Butter Burger with fries. The verdict: Fantastic. Everything about this burger was perfect --great quality ingredients cooked the right way! To end things the right way, I went for the Caramel Cheesecake --what a treat, truly delicious! We stopped into this small town restaurant looking for some lunch. We were pleasantly surpised how busy it was. The open kitchen was working away. We were quickly seated and ordered a massive salad with a wrap. More then enough for the two of us. The fresh salad was delicious and the wrap was tasty. The service was fine. Upon entering the restaurant me and 3 other friends did not get asked for vaccine proof (which we all had ready) or ID. We sat down and after 15 minutes we we're brought water and the waitress apologized for the wait. We were given utensils wrapped in a napkin, when one of the napkins were opened, it had an old piece of chicken. She then proceeded to assist other guest including take their photos for approximately another 30 minutes before taking our order. We gave our order to our waitress and she left. Another 20 minutes pass and our waitress comes back and states she has lost the paper our order was written on, and asked for our order a second time. We order hot lattes and she comes back with luke warm coffee. We are an hour+ into sitting at this restaurant after we receive our food. We ate our food, the waitress comes back after 20 minutes to take our empty plates. We were not pleased with this service since the restaurant has been taken over by a new owner. We are from the U.S. Found this place while traveling from St. Andrews-by-the-Sea to PEI. Needed a place for a quick bite and to rest for a few minutes. This is a terrific spot. I did not get a chance to partake in the phenomenal menu but this place is special. I was far from home and in need of some comfort in the form of great food and coffee. To my dismay as I walked up and I saw they were closed for Remembrance Day BUT the wonderful owner was inside. She let me in, poured me a hot cup of joe and showered me with her kindness and hospitality. I left with a coffee for the long road home inscribed with "Build your own dreams or someone else will hire you to build there's." A great restaurant begins with a loving heart and a passion for what they do. This place is not to be missed. read more
