Now boys and girls, who knew "panacea" means to "cure all"?…read moreThat is the perfect description for the warming, hearty spanish inspired meals served up from a daily changing specials menu and regular pizza and tapas fare here. Sit amongst birds nest lighting, green walls and in uncomfortable plastic chairs while you watch a chaotic open kitchen steam, clang and heat up inside or take a leisurely look down your nose at passers by as you sip your red wine and nibble tapas under big white umbrellas in the summer breeze outside. Crispy BBQ quail, simple warmed olives and baked gnocchi are all you really need to look at but there is a very long menu for those who like to feel they have choice. Note thought that this is one of those places where you need to probably allow sharing plate minimum per person though if you want to be full at the end of the night. Very strong Moroccan, Spanish and meat based flavours engulf most dishes here and you will get rich flavours like goats cheese, marinated herbs and plenty of salt coming through with most dishes - but it is worth it. Service is hilariously attentive - I have had 2 people serving my table all 3 times I have been to date. And waitered service like that is normally a lot more expensive in Adelaide now-days. It really makes you feel special and enhances the experience of "being amongst it" where you are literally next to the open kitchen if you are in the main area. If you don't fancy flashing the AMEX card then dine here with the suits and ties or stockings and slippers (very few of those) for lunch and dinner from 12-6pm Monday to Thursday for half price pizzas and jugs of sangria - bargain!

Not only did we receive 25% off our bill using the check in feature on the Yelp app, but the red sangria was absolutely delicious. No cheap nasty wine was used and had an authentic Spanish taste. We ordered the pate entree to share and we're impressed at the very generous serving. The flavour was perfect and just enough to keep us going until our later Dinner. The service was good. However when we arrived we were the only ones there. Although friendly, it wasn't above and beyond. It would be good to see how they fare when the restaurant was a little busier. Will definitely return to try the full menu and for more sangria. If you have not already been, now's the time - especially with the current Yelp offer which will make that sangria extra sweet and soul soothing.

And I would have to agree, it WAS the best meal he'd ever had. I ate most of it (to his dismay) because i made the poor choice of quail, quite forgetting that quail doesn't eat much in life and therefore is too small and fiddly for this lazy girl. Not the fault of the restaurant, it was extremely tasty - it was my fault for ordering quail, even after my partner asked, 'have you eaten quail before?' 'yes' I lied in firm defiance. Well, I got caught out and he lost most of the BEST meal he'd ever had. I had a zucchini dip for entree and it was delicious and the BEST meal ever was a Lentil and chicken Tagine called 'Harissa' with the flat bread IN THE TAGINE! The atmosphere was brilliant, a family owned small restaraunt with the bright colours of morocco and the mid east. I will be going back again and again.

The staff are very friendly and it is probably one of the best value Moroccan feeds I have had in Adelaide (arguably as good as Marrakech Restaurant and around only 60% of the price). As soon as you walk in your senses are tantalised by wafts of incredible smells from the kitchen. The restaurant is covered with cool artefacts that makes it feel welcoming and casual (in a good way). I tried their Harrisa soup which was incredibly tasty with strong flavours of coriander and a subtle spice. It was appetising at just over $10 or so, it was well worth it. There were plenty of chickpeas too which was nice. Next up was a Moroccan potato salad. Served hot in a small dish, the potato salad was well spiced with a serve of flavoured onion. Again, this dish didn't disappoint. Last up was a vegetarian Tagine. There were plenty of veggies and plenty of flavour. It had carrots, peas, capsicum, potato, sweet potato and onion. It tasted really authentic and had a very pleasant aroma. I had this dish with rice this time but next time I definitely want to try their Moroccan bread. All in all, a great evening and at $40 for these three dishes, it is highly affordable! Definitely recommend.

There are plenty of Asian Supermarkets in and around the city, selling everything from aged (and…read morereally smelly) tofu to deep fried and dried Anchovies (The hairy snack!). One that stands out a little from the local competition is the Time Supermarket on Grote. Yes they stock all of the regular offenders (as regular as they can be anyways), but the big extra is LIVE fishies and other Oceanic tasty future tid-bits. The have a long wall of fish tanks that house live cray, crabs, various swimmy things and the odd pearl producer. Although I am a relatevely heartless chef (and individual in general) I haven't been able to bring myself to buying any of that particular produce as of yet, but as I write I am feeling more and more blood thirsty.....STOP, Hammer Time!

As Scott pointed out, what's interesting about Time Supermarket is the fact that they stock live seafood. There aren't too many places that do this; even fishmongers sell you seafood that's already dead! It simply doesn't get any fresher than this! But I, like Scott, don't know if I could handle killing my own food. Even the thought of dropping a crab into a boiling pot of water makes me sad. In addition, you can buy lots of things in bulk here, such as large sacks of rice. There's plenty on offer in here - it's much like any other Asian grocer, just upscaled.

Just on a side track briefly, the frozen Takoyaki balls aren't too bad, but no where near as wicked as the freshly cooked balls of goo so hot it will mess your mouth up for hours! The relevance of this side note is that I also buy all of the raw ingredients to make my own from Little Tokyo! #The most important is the Dried Bonito Flakes......little wriggly saltiness! Anywho, Little Tokyo has a small selection of a lot of things, giving the shopper a real slice of Japan and a little taste of home for others. Little Tokyo is a store of the utmost quaintness. It's tiny and decorated with oriental cloths and banners, all of which are available for purchase. It stocks teapots and teacups, noodles, trinkets, sweets and even imported beer. For me, though, the real treasure is in the movie selection. There's a well-bodied collection of the movies of those wonderful animated film creators named Studio Ghibli, and though you can find their movies anywhere, it's nice to have them all here in one place. Then there's the wealth of films you've likely never heard of before, each one looking more ridiculous and, consequently, more fascinating than the last. The teapots and teacups are of very good quality, and priced appropriately. If you're in search of Japanese chinaware (geddit!?), there's a very able assortment here. I've never tried any of the alcohol (though I plan to), but the noodles are great and the treats work a treat.
