    Assortment of Mini Donuts
    Francesca F.

These are a delicious option for office-shareables! These are excellent for when you need to share with a lot of people, and they have a wide variety of flavors so you know you're sure to please everyone!

Tastease has been on our list for year's and National Donut Day was the reason to go! Always hearing it was packed on weekends turned us away, but with recent events, we had the ability to go during the week. The owner was incredibly friendly and talkative. On a Friday morning, there was no wait and a full choice of flavors! We tried everything from strawberry cheesecake, cherry, cereal, s'mores, strawberry lemonade, and more! I'm more of a fruity donut lover while my husband likes the chocolatey ones. I LOVED that the donuts are mini so it gives you the ability to try different flavors and of course...not feel as guilty I'm so glad we finally tried Tastease as they will now become a go-to donut shop! We can't wait to get a box full for our next party!!

I am so happy I ordered Tastease for my annual Halloween party this year. I'm a huge donut fan and wanted a dessert that showed that! These did not disappoint. The photos I've seen were impressive and I was thinking, "There is no way these can taste as good as they look" because sometimes overly decorated donuts aren't as yummy as they appear. This was completely untrue for this spot! In fact, I've seen other donut shops try to make donuts like this with the same, bland, not-so-great cake-base underneath all the frills. But no, Tastease has a very solid base. Their cake donut is slightly glazed which makes it stand out from other places that have a similar idea. I am not sure who is decorating these things, but they know what they are doing! I was thoroughly impressed and so was everyone at my party. We got 48 little beauties for around $80. That's a win for me! I will certainly be ordering from here for future parties where a cake simply won't cut it. As a bonus, the owner is so kind and amicable. Thanks, Tastease!

Such a cute, local gem! The donuts are beautiful and DELICIOUS, the people there are so nice and welcoming. On my second visit there, the man working there asked if I had been before and I said it had been a while. He let me try a donut, and since they're essentially bite-sized he just gave me a free donut to eat on the spot. I'm a huge fan of cake donuts, and I love that they're mini so you can get a variety. Usually street parking is pretty spacious, there's no designated lot but both times I've been it was very easy to park in front of the church that's right across the street. There's no seating here, it's just a counter you go up to and order. I'll definitely be back!

2 for the donuts, but rounding up for the really nice staff. 2 other patrons in line around noon on a Saturday. Selection was super limited (only 2 trays of donuts left, and I assume they start the day with 10 or more?) Pros: -Portion control -Fun decor (love the "It's always donut time" clock)! -Really nice staff who threw in an extra donut free Cons: -Pricey ($1 for a mini donut) -Donuts are pretty dry--not sure if it's because we went late in the day or because it's hard to make a moist mini donut, or something else -Based on the website, I assumed you could customize your own donuts, but the donuts are all pre-made -There are no labels in the case (at least not at noon) so you just need to go for the best looking ones, or ask the friendly staff to run through them -- $6 for 6 donuts Chocolate This was the best base flavor we tried. The best donut overall was chocolate with chocolate frosting, because the frosting helped alleviate the dryness. Definitely go for donuts with as much frosting as possible. Red Velvet Didn't really taste red velvet, but not a bad base. Cherry Super sweet base, but might have actually had real cherries in it, which is cool. Vanilla Vanilla with vanilla icing and cinnamon was the worst one we tried, probably because the cinnamon exacerbated the dryness.

It's my first time trying these donuts and they were so cute! I love the mini size and the Oreo donut is my favorite so far. A reasonable selection of drinks and affordable prices. Really can't go wrong for a quick pick-me-up.

Wow, wow, wow!! How did I not know this place was open sooner? These mini donuts are the BEST in the area. Not only are there a wide variety of flavors, but they're all extremely tasty. The donut itself is cakey and delicious and they are all perfectly glazed and sweet. If I could take this entire shop home with me, I would! I can say the fruity pebbles was one of my favorites as the crunchiness and the sweetness of the fruity pebbles added to the ginger/clove taste of the donut itself. I can say this place is certainly a source of happiness and cannot wait to make it a frequent stop!

    Ariel H.

Tastease makes my favorite donuts in the area! They have so many different types and their tiny size means guilt free sampling of everything! Despite their size, these cute little donuts are rich and moist. My favorites are the chocolate with coconut, Oreo, or caramel topping. Tastease was always a crowd pleaser at work, whenever I would surprise my coworkers with a box as a pick-me-up. Make sure you stop by early to get the best selection.

So I was incredibly excited to try Tastease. I've read the reviews, saw some articles online, and seen them all over special media. Boy was I disappointed. The donuts were ok. The cereal on one of them was stale. Not the best donuts I've had, but I do love how cute they are and that there donuts aren't overtly sweet. We also got breakfast sandwiches. Here is the real down fall... The food had no flavor. There doesn't seem to be a grille in the back, so I don't think anything is freshly cooked. The best part of the sandwich was the toasted hard roll. The best part of the visit was the service. The lady that helped us was very sweet and friendly. Unfortunately, this didn't feel with the price.

    Marissa S.

I would like to start off by saying I have never had any of their food there other than the donuts. I know they offer some breakfast/deli sandwiches, but I've always been interested in the donuts. This place is so cute and little that you could very easily pass right by it. Their donuts are small and absolutely delicious. I've gotten them for brunch, work parties, and birthdays! They come in all different flavors, but my favorite is the red velvet. They are also designed so well. You can order them ahead of time by calling, or they have a variety you can choose from while you're at the store! And if anyone is wondering, their donuts blow Dunkin's out of the park.

    Teeny tastes of sugary heaven.
    Lisa F.

Ohh my goodness, how adorable are these teeny donuts? Artfully crafted, delicious and smaller than the palm of your hand, it is no small feat that I didn't eat the whole box by myself. A bit out of the way for me unfortunately but well worth the trip! I don't even know what kinds they were (no signs) so a random selection worked for me. i'm not sure how many varieties they offer, but by 945am on a Tuesday morning, there was still a decent enough choice. The price is on point and won't break the bank, at $5 and change for a dozen. Thanks fellow Yelpers for yet another awesome suggestion!

    Emily C.

Tastease is still just as great as it's ever been. I stopped in over the weekend to pick up a platter of three dozen mini donuts for my sister's bridal shower. Ordering ahead of time was incredibly easy and the owner was quick to respond via email. The donuts were, needless to say, an enormous hit and there were very few left over. I'd asked for a variety and received a vibrant display of rainbow-hued confections topped with everything from lucky charms and fruity pebble cereal to sprinkles, various creams/frostings, and so much more. Just as tasty as they are photogenic (and come on, you can't NOT take a photo of these little guys). Now they even do donut walls and other fun wedding/party type displays. A classic Hartford choice, whether for a special occasion or just a morning office surprise.

    Neelam P.

These little donuts are delicious and beautiful! Perfect for a party or if you're craving something fun to eat. Be sure to call ahead if you can't make it in early. They were sold out by the time I arrived at 12, but luckily I called ahead and they were super nice about holding a dozen for me. The donuts are dense, soft, and not too sweet. I think the size is just right...just the right amount of sweetness to hit the spot without feeling too guilty. They come in a variety of fun flavors and colors! I would chose this place over Dunkin Donuts any day. My nieces/nephew loved them and there were no crumbs left!

Just a 0.6-mile walk, nbd, right? :D But on the way there I did get to see where the State Capitol was since I walked right by it. Yeah, there's a reason it's called "Capitol Street". I also didn't realize I would be walking into Frog Hollow, so that was cool, I guess. But the visit was worth the walk. The intent of coming here was so that my liver could oxidize the drinks I had earlier. Additionally, the ice cream did make me thankful the walk was longer than I had intended it to be even though I don't really know Hartford pretty much at all. I did have a sneaking suspicion I had had this before, so I looked back at my old reviews. Lo and behold, I DID have Capital Ice Cream before at the Hartford Taste Festival when I went last year and tried their Hartford Dough Down. In fact, it was one of the places I had remarked I most wanted to give an in-earnest visit to when I talked about it in that review. Because of this, I have now gone to a place in-person after first visiting their stand at a festival (I still need to do that for Sandra's Next Generation one fine day since I had their festival food the day before the historic flood of 2024). This time around I got to see a little of what the interior of the place looked like. You can find some interesting fact about Connecticut while you're there. I didn't get to take too many photos of that, but I at least got to snap myself some lore about Hartford. Apparently it's one of this nation's oldest cities, being founded in 1635. Cool stuff! I'd love to come back even if only for the lovely history. They have an outdoor area you can have your ice cream in, and an area where you can go downstairs to eat I believe. It's a bit cramped when trying to order, so something to keep in mind. Thankfully the service is great, quick and efficient. This time I nabbed myself a large key lime pie milkshake, and I HAD to go with The Force! I may not come from a galaxy far, far away, but I needed some Force goddammit! Originally I was going order the Charter Oak until I'd realized there was key lime pie ice cream and I couldn't say no to key lime pie. The Force is a chocolate ice cream with Oreo's mixed in and whipped cream on top as well as confectionery sugar. Overall, it's a definitely a great stop for ice cream lovers who want to do a CT Ice Cream Tour. I'll even go so far as to say it is a great ice cream to have when walking by the State Capitol. While I am more partial to having ice cream at harbors and sea shores (think having the ice cream on a dock while my feet dangle over the water), ice cream by a major government building is still a very beautiful thought. Of the two things I had, I would definitely say I preferred the milkshake over the sundae. I think on summer days key lime pie ice cream is more refreshing overall. But both things were very good. For hot days, this is an outstanding choice! If you're someone who loves to learn some new history, definitely come here. If you like having ice cream walking by a state capitol, this is definitely the place for you. This might not be my number-one place to have ice cream, but I definitely think this was a tasty treat that I'd be more than happy to visit again in Hartford.
