My sweet (pun intended!) next door neighbor told me about this spot and stopped by the other day with some of their baked goods. My hubby enjoyed the egg tart and I had a spongy coconut cake and a coconut tart (since he's not a big fan of coconut). I then decided (with the same neighbor) to check out the place in person. It is a no-frills local Chinese food take out spot actually (haven't tried any of the foo) that also sells Chinese baked goods. I found them all delicious. They aren't made on site I don't think but they're put out fresh daily. Of course this was a treat for me and I'll need to stay away (and come back in maybe 3-4 months!) The place has just 3 tables and some high top tables. It was pretty packed for a Tuesday afternoon but we were able to snag a table quickly. Enjoyed a pastry (raisin bun) with a decaf coffee. I have eaten here in store once, and otherwise done takeout from this location. This review is mostly based on the latest experience, which was not great. I think the Egg Foo Young was maybe the best of the bunch in terms of flavor on its own, but the brown sauce was nothing special. The other decent flavored dishes were the Singapore Rice Noodles and Beef Chow Fun, though both were much wetter than I like. General Tso's Chicken had flavor, but it was more sweet and sour with no spice kick at all. Breading was thick too. On the other hand, the Fried Chicken Wings were overcooked and flavorless. Shockingly, the Shrimp w/ Lobster Sauce was worse, bland as can be. Based on this meal, I would not order from here again. read more

Great small local Chinese takeout place with a few tables and a counter if you choose to eat in. I stop in whenever I am craving wonton noodle soup, beef tendon noodle soup, congee, any of their stir fried noodle offerings, or Cantonese style entrees and don't want to trek to Chinatown. They have a decent variety of buns. Milk and bubble teas and egg custard tarts. I see they also offer the standard Americanized Chinese food like egg foo young, moo goo gai pan, etc but I have never ordered it there. My family likes the Amoy rice noodles as it is similar to a dish they had when visiting a village in southern China. Amoy rice noodles has shrimp, chicken, eggs, and pickled cabbage and vegetables. I like their noodle soups, congees, and stir fried noodles. I am happy to support this small local restaurant whenever I have certain food cravings! read more

Haven't been here for a while, so ordered a large beef stew and beef with eggplant. Comes with a pint of rice each. A lot of sauce spilled out from the beef and eggplant which is okay since I don't really eat that much sauce anyway but it was still a lil annoying. Food was still quite tasty and much cheaper than ordering it from a non fast food Cantonese restaurant. Love the tendon in the beef stew, was so tender; beef is a bit lean but still really good. I was as so excited to stumble upon this no frill Chinese bakery and restaurant. I moved to rego park recently and I was worried that I wouldn't find many places to eat that I was familiar with, but seeing that there's this bakery is very comforting as it was a staple for me in Jackson heights. I really liked their sponge cakes and was thrilled to see they had cheap boba for just $4 for a small. The staff also seem pretty nice. And the storefront itself is very casual, no frill and local, which maybe not many people would appreciate but it was comforting to me. Not a bad option for Chinese food in this area. It's still fast food, but they have a lot of nostalgic canton dishes that I ate growing up in Chinatown. I ordered a beef stew noodle soup, braised bean curd with fish on rice, sliced fish congee, and a salt and pepper pork chop. Prices are super reasonable, and the taste is great. I enjoyed my noodle soup because the beef stew was fragrant and delicious. The other dishes are on par in flavor but could be better. I ordered a Chicken with garlic sauce that was horrible it tasted like mixed Mexican siracha sauce instead of a garlic sauce and had loads huge of cucumber pieces. The buns at this Asian bakery is comparablely cheaper than the store down the block- and for that it deserves four stars. Buns and cakes taste okay, not outstanding but just enough to fill the hunger pangs. The pineapple custard bun had a lot of fillings, but the toppings all crumbled with one bite causing a big mess. The food has no flavor and is oily. Went in and ordered beef with rice noodles and steamed dumplings. Portion size is good. The noodles lacked flavor and were VERY VERY oily and had maybe 5-6 thin slices of undercooked beef. Very disappointing. Had to toss almost 90% of the food. The steamed dumplings also lacked flavor and the dough was very thick and mushy. Not good quality. Overall, food does not have any flavor and is full in oil. Also, tables were not cleaned. I've had a couple of misses here, but overall, I would say this place has the most authentic Chinese food in this area. Most recently, ordered salted fish & diced chicken fried rice, & Singapore mei fun (thin rice noodle). Both were decent, & generous potions. I believe the staff speaks mandarin, Cantonese, & some English. Their bakery items aren't bad as well, & reasonablely priced compared to anywhere in the area. I haven't tried the dishes but have had many buns and baked goods. Buns are still behind protected areas and you cannot just grab and go! They have sliced cakes and sponge cake slices! I really wanted sautéed string beans and there were few options for delivery that offered this. I saw it on the Tasty menu and figured I'd give them a try. The string beans were absolutely delicious!! And for the price it was a very large serving. I also got an order of chow fun which was probably one of the best chow funs I've ever had. This Chinese bakery recently opened and occupies a space that used to be a Colombian chicken restaurant that closed down. It is a welcome addition to this neighborhood. In this area, there was only a very small Chinese bakery a couple blocks south. This place is easily better. They serve bubble tea drinks, pastries, sandwiches, and also hot Chinese takeout food as well. Unlike a few other Chinese fast food restaurants that are mere steps away, Tasty & Co seems to try and draw precious customers away from the competition by padding its menu with tons of novel offerings that you can't get elsewhere. Baked goods, for one. Not a fan of breads? How about ice creams? They have both soft serve and scoop-able frozen yogurt. Would you rather prefer a sweet drink? They have milk teas too. If you're only here for the food and love the tune of Asian fusion, you'll probably love the signs posted all around boasting the mayonnaise walnut shrimp specialty (which I would usually only order in a true sit-down Chinese restaurant), the new shrimp pad thai, or the wonton soups. Call it ambitious or call it culinarily schizophrenic, but they really seem to try and previse all potential appetites with their menu. During my last two visits, I had the vegetable noodle soup, which came with satisfyingly curly egg noodles and a good handful of mixed vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. Ordering it to go revealed thoughtful packaging, as they packed the cooked noodles/veggies and the broth in separate containers so that it wouldn't overcook en route to your destination. The broth was flavorful and hearty, if a little salty, and I liked it well enough to order it a few more times. Tonight, I ordered from their combination menu - popular entrees that are paired with your choice of rice and an egg roll. I got the broccoli in garlic sauce and the kind woman taking my order kindly obliged when I asked her if I could substitute the pork egg roll for one of their vegetable rolls (big props for veggie-friendly swapouts). The meal was a healthy serving, though I'm never a huge fan of the artificially red sauces that some places use for their garlic sauce. The vegetable roll was exactly what you'd get if you took all of the pork out of a regular egg roll - a deep fried wrapper hugging a small wad of shredded cabbage and vegetables. Not bad nor great. The service you get really depends on when you come in. My husband and I once made the mistake of dining in when it was apparently prime dinner time and our order of two noodle soups took about half an hour. Tonight, I was in and out in less than five minutes. Will I still return? Probably. I'm intrigued enough by the vast menu offerings that I'd be willing to come back. read more

Order the chicken Lo mein for 7.95 very unmemorable, a tad on the salty side. Also two order of the pork fried dumplings (6 per order) (4.60 per order) well worth it, very flavorful and a good size of meat within the dumplings and 2 pork egg rolls (1.45 each) - not too greasy and good flavor but the size was on the small side. What a pleasant surprise!! I was craving authentic Chinese food and was too lazy to troop to Elmhurst. Even though they serve Americanized Chinese take out..I knew they also have an authentic menu since they have congee. Stopped by today and decided to try the beef chow fun and the shrimp with egg sauce. Beef chow fun was very good and tasted like the ones you get from real Chinese joints. Beef was very tender and you can taste the "char-ness" from the wok. Shrimp and egg sauce was also very good although the egg sauce was a bit overcooked and ended up looking like scrambled eggs. It was flavorful and the shrimp was cooked well. Not mealy at all. I came in here not expecting too much but was surprised at the no frills authenticity taste. Is it the BEST chinese? No. You can find way better options in Elmhurst and Flushing. Am I glad that I can get real authentic chinese in Rego Park 5 minutes from my place? I have very mixed feeling abut Tasty & Co. I was really sad when the Colombian chicken place closed down but very excited when I saw an awning put up last last year indicating it was going to be a Chinese place. I welcome the tiny Chinese bakery in the back although selection is limited compared to bigger Chinese bakeries I'm been accustomed (I spent a few yrs of my childhood in Chinatown). The food from the bakery is good and authentic. Fresh and comforting but if something is out, it's sold out. I wonder if the food is baked elsewhere. Either way if they run out of some baked goods, there is another Chinese bakery up the block and on the same side on 63rd drive. I've ordered the bubble tea here before and the guy mixed up my order even after I told him in Chinese what I wanted. It was ok though because I got taro instead of the milk tea one which I like but come on, how can you confuse taro for milk tea. Their coffee and tea is good, no complaints. The funny thing is that in the evenings I've seen people ordering coffee and they have to tell the customer that there is no more left. As indicated by many of you, I assumed that the majority of the food is American-Chinese by the menu so I haven't even ordered it. However, during the day I've seen many people eating in here (mostly older adults from the neighborhood) so I guess this place is affordable and accessible for the neighborhood. Also, while waiting for the Q38 (worst bus ever) this location proves to be on point because I can grab a cup of tea to warm myself up. Lastly, on some days I pass this place very early around 6AM to 7AM and I've noticed that the workers are inside getting ready for the day.
