The food came out piping hot. I got the oxtails, brown stew chicken, cabbage, plantains, macaroni and cheese. It was a little pricey but definitely worth every penny. Oxtails melt in your mouth and the texture was tender and juicy. The sides didn't disappoint either. Everything was amazing and I'll be back to try other items on the menu. I didn't get rice and peas because it is considered a side on the menu. Most Caribbean restaurants give rice and peas with the meat but still a great experience altogether. The first time I tried jerk chicken was in Jamaica so this chicken was up against some competition. Not as good as the jerk chicken in Jamaica but it was still delicious. It came with two kinds of sauce. The sweet sauce complimented the chicken so well. The other sauce was a little to spicy for me. I will definitely be returning. read more

This place is SMALL but MIGHTY. It is hands down THE BEST JAMAICAN FOOD in Birmingham. It's so full of flavor, spice, and flare. The owner Bernard is the sweetest guy. He was so welcoming and let me sample a few things on the menu. Everything I tried was good: the turkey neck, brown stew chicken, etc. He puts so much love into this food. He's all about quality above anything else and he delivers on that promise. I got the jerk chicken which was falling off the bone. I'd put his jerk chicken sauce on just about anything. I'd probably drink it for breakfast LOL It is THAT good. The depth of flavor is sickening. I didn't think cabbage could have as much flavor as he infused into his. This food was absolutely amazing! The cabbage was cooked perfectly. The rice and peas were soft and flavorful. I got the jerk chicken which was so amazing and tender. I haven't had authentic Jamaican food since my last trip to Jamaica and this is legit real deal. I will be getting the food again. Oh and the owner let me taste the oxtail which was delicious!
