The restaurant appeared clean and the staff was very nice for the to go order. I had checked the reviews and photos on line and chose the pineapple rice and the General Tso chicken. The food was hot and felt like it had just been cooked. So good so far. Opened the rice and it was very tasty and really prettier good. The Tso chicken was hot and when you bit into it it was dry. There was very little sauce. Not like the picture or the waitress described on the phone. Basically just be fried chicken and no sauce to help it taste good. Maybe they just forgot , or maybe a random Togo order wasn't a big deal to get it right. I seemed to be just one more patron that got their order a little messed up. Would I eat here again? I frequent Tasty Thai quite often (at least once a week). This has been a go to spot for me and coworkers! The staff is so friendly, welcoming, and have great customers service. The food is PHENOMENAL! Their pad Thai, garlic chicken, and egg rolls are amazing! They have a great lunch menu and dinner menu. This place is absolutely hands down amazing! I can't say enough good things. I've eaten here 3 times for take out and it's always been such a good experience with the service and the food is truly out of this world. My taste buds crave the complex flavors of their amazing food. The Pumpkin Curry and Pad Prig King are to die for , I usually get them with shrimp. Everything always tastes so fresh! The Pad Thai is so flavorful and we love it! The fried shrimp appetizer was an amazing not overly dry too so that was a plus. They are always busy too every time I pick up so I know that's a good sign. I will have to come by for dine in soon. I can't wait to try everything on the menu. My wife suggest this place for dinner and what a great find. We were there in a Tuesday at 730pm not crowded at all. Food was amazing as with the service. We ordered the spring rolls with shrimp, 4 pieces with shrimp & 4 veggies served with a peanut sauce. For dinner my wife ordered the Pad Tai very flavorful, big portion brought about half home. We shared a chicken fried rice, again very good. I ordered this to go with my Seaford Delight, not realizing it came with steamed rice, needless to say we brought the fried rice home and a small portion of the seafood delight (Calamari, Shrimp, Mussels, Catfish & Scallops). The pineapple rice was loaded with ingredients and flavorful. The rice was cooked just right. The seafood delight is served on a sizzling plate. I love how the seafood is just cooked right and not chewy, especially the squid and mussels. Because it is rich in flavor, I recommend this to be eaten with a plain white rice so you can enjoy the flavors of each seafood. I had the basil chicken wings to go. The hostess and servers are the nicest young ladies in Modesto. They are attentive and well mannered. They give you privacy and check on you just often enough. Don't know how long it's been open, but some of the furnishings are looking a little worn. Might be time for some interior upgrades. But it seems clean, and the atmosphere is fine. Not fancy, but it's a step up from takeout. The food, however, is solidly bleh. Or should I say meh. Two stars may be generous. Is avocado typical in Thai cuisine? Never seen avocado in a Thai restaurant before, and it was simply out of place in the fresh rolls. They were very generous with the peanut sauce. I appreciate that. Two stars for nice people with plentiful peanut sauce. The pad Thai was horrid. How does a Thai restaurant mess up pad Thai? It was just a big gloppy mess of noodles and a sweet, peanutty sauce, a few bean sprouts and a wedge of lemon. Asked for it medium spicy, but there was no spiciness at all. Zero on the hot pepper. It was kind of a gloopy overly sweet mess of noodles and sauce. Actually, it was the worst pad Thai I've ever had after eating pad Thai at a dozen Thai restaurants in a half dozen states. Food is amazing. I've had practically everything on the menu and it's all so amazing. The only reason I didn't give this place a fifth star is because I've been going to it for years and sadly the customer service is always subpar. I won't let that defeat this review and honestly I'd love to eat at the place more because it's so nice inside but I've resorted to taking out to avoid the bummed out staff here. I love that I found this little place on food dash. The chicken satay is delicious I recommend extra peanut sauce. The Yum Talay is so good the portions is huge with lots of shrimp. For our meal I had number 42 and my husband got the pad thai filled with authentic flavor. The restaurant is kept very clean and tidy. Worst service I've had in a long time 4 of us ordered 3 of us got our food. Two other tables ordered and received food my daughter still didn't get her food. So my experience with the food today was interesting. 1. Tom Yum Kai (pot) was ok. I will probably get the non dairy version next time. It was well packed and the flavors were delicious 2. Fresh Spring Rolls- I opted out for the tofu but there was only one slice of avocado in the 6 pieces that were given. 3. Pad See Ew- absolute disappointment. The noodles were mushy ( see image ) way to over cooked. They shouldn't even have served the dish with the noodles being just mushy 4. Red Curry-was a good dish 5.
