I came in with 2 family where 2 of my nieces and my daughter and got inked. Camie did mine, she was great! Asked me what I wanted, gave her a pic of a tribal piece with hibiscus flowers that I wanted (particular about the drawing of it) which she asked me to airdrop to her. The first sketch was great, but I felt was just too big and too long, but I did fail to mention I wanted it above my knees and the whole thing to be just a bit more "dainty", lol. I apologized and she "no worries, that's what we do" and when I explained to her my only concern was really to get the exact replica of the hibiscus on there, she can design it the way wants and what looks good to her, leaving it all to her. It took only 1.5 hours to do mine, she was fast, very efficient and sweet! She did an amazing job for my first what I consider a "big" piece on me. . Definitely going back and can't wait! Love my new tat! I got the scripture cor 13:13 on my right rib. The place was clean and the workers were friendly and my tattoo artist, Chad made me at ease. The facility was spacious where four people were able to get their tat done at the same time. I thought I would be in excruciating pain since I heard ribs hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. He made me feel comfortable where he said I could take a break or stretch if needed. I'll be definitely going back here. The price was reasonable for my tattoo. Had an appointment this morning with a different tattoo shop, however... We sat outside the shop waiting only to eventually find out that they weren't coming... That "something else" had come up. Seriously? Anyway... The bf said his friend's friend works at Tattoo Krew and they were open today so we went to check them out. My bf was able to book an appointment this week with Josh and Cami was able to do my small white ink tattoo today. They were both super nice and accommodating. The shop is really nice and you can tell that everything is sanitized well. The shop minimum is $60 which is reasonable. Will definitely be back if I need to add more for myself. I usually get my tattoos done by Mike Higuchi, but he's really busy lately. So, from a co-worker, I heard he got a sleeve done here a while ago and I thought it was nice, which is why I chose this place to see if I could get my left sleeve done here. First time I walked in everyone was friendly. I went and looked at the portfolios and chose Chad. I know he is not specialized in Asian art, but I saw he did a great samurai tat and liked his detail and lines. I gave the guy at the front my name and number and he said he would call me. The next day, he calls me and tells me his days that he is available. I tell him I would meet him at 10am on a Saturday to have a consultation. I show up Saturday and he's 1/2 hour late. Minus 1 star. While I am standing there for 1/2 hour (because there are no seats) he is told by another worker that I was waiting for him. He did not seem to remember me or remember the appointment until I mention the phone call. Anyways, Chad seems nice. He looks at my photos for ideas and measures my arm to see what he can draw up. He tells me he would call me when he was ready so he can blast out the tat. I tell him no rush (but damn I didn't mean that literally!) He again asks for my name and phone number, but explained that he didn't really do Asian art. I explained why I chose him, but he told me there were other artists in the shop that did Asian work (which I didn't care for in the portfolios). I guess within 3 days of talking he forgot who I was and misplaced my number...minus 1 more star. Days go by...mind you this was the first week of June...and now it's July. No phone call. Most people would say "Why don't you call them up?" I say, no thanks. If you didn't remember my phone number or consultation appointment then you obviously don't care for your customers or not in need of new ones. I was willing to pay whatever it would take to have a nice sleeve. Instead, after 3 weeks of waiting I went to 808 Tattoo and actually had my appointment written in an APPOINTMENT book with my number in it. In fact tomorrow is when I get the sleeve done by them. Minus 1 more star...I'll give you 2 for being nice in person, but you just lost someone willing to pay $500-1000 for the sleeve + tip. read more

Came here last week to get a small, simple tattoo that I've been wanting for a long time now. My sister got a phoenix on her back a few months back from Bernard over there and she said i should check him out. I'm so glad I did - like Chuck said, all these guys are inked up from head to toe - a little intimidating from their looks, but they're all cool guys! The shop is super clean and nice...pretty spacious too! Bernard is super cool - he made me feel at ease, especially since it's been a while since I got any work done - but of course, it wasn't sore at all! Overall, I only like Chads work of the bunch of artists here. I never got a tattoo done here, but I went in for consultation to talk to Chad. A week later I got a call from an apprentice wanting to take on my tattoo. I had to deny because I didn't want someone else to ink my skin. read more

Since I moved back down to Oahu, I always got tatted here. I go to Momo Taro for the past 2 years, the only lady that tattoos there & she is amazeballs. The whole krew overall does an amazing job. James is absolutely amaze-balls!!! :) James was super patient with my sister VIvian and I. We are perfectionists to a fault. Not to mention, it was Viv's very first tattoo on her virgin shoulder. Hence, the reason it took us 3 whole hours to determine the precise shape, size, and location of our double infinity tattoo. After all, it is going to be on us forever ever!!! ;) These über talented tattoo artists initially come off intimidating based purely on appearance. However, once you get in there, they are welcoming and make you feel like ohana. James, as well as his awesome tattoo artist co-workers, were very helpful and supportive. For 3 hours they offered advice and even cheered us on when we finally took the plunge, albeit it took merely a minute to actually ink us lol!!! ;P James and Tattoo Krew were both recommended by our cousin Fresh. I went in for my first tattoo that says stay strong on my wrist. I loved it. They were really nice and friendly and the guy that did my tattoo was great too. He kid around with me so I could relax. I warned him I was gonna cry so he kid around and said that it was okay cause he cries when he gets a tattoo to, although I know he was joking cause the guy had alot of tats. Anyways he made sure I was okay and he started off slow with just drawing a line and I was surprised it didn't hurt one bit. I just turned 18 and I knew that I really wanted a tattoo. I talked to Ryan Lau a week in advance and told him what I wanted. I came in and he showed me what he had, it was amazing. Since it was my first tattoo Ryan made me feel calm and comfortable. Although I was being a worm moving on the table he told me it was okay and was patient. I have been to a few tattoo shops around the island and what you find in alot of the shops is people with attitudes that I really dont like.....A good friend of mine introduced me to this shop and told me to go check out this guy that did his tattoo's at that time they were located right outside schofield barracks up the road from kemoo farm, right from the get go I got to meet the artist named Ryan and ever since then he has done most of my work , I also been to they're shop that was in kalihi had some work done there and now at they're shop in waipahu that might not look like much from outside but very clean and nice on the inside the number one objective with Ryan is cleanliness then comes the art work the guy is truly talented and his hands is very light when your getting work done the lighter the hands the better, also before you think about walking thru the door and expecting to get work done do yourself a favor... call first.....because i'm not sure about the other artist that work in the shop and they all are really good at what they do but Ryan usually has a waiting list so call reserve a spot and save your gas, his prices are really reasonable...so if your serious about getting some work done give em a call you wont be disappointed....its been awhile since I visited the shop and I think I'm overdue for some ink.......just a hint .....getting inked is addicting trust me you will be back for more.....thanks for reading.... read more
