This has been on my list for a while and I'm so glad we finally got to try it. It's got a great vibe. Food and service were delicious. We got the smash burger and beet salad. Both VERY fresh and good. There's inside and outside seating. Definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner at Tavern on Main. If you go, the bone marrow and bacon-wrapped mushrooms are non-negotiable--they were truly out of this world and packed with flavor. For the main course, my husband had the beef tenderloin, which was prepared perfectly and quite literally melted in his mouth. I paired my meal with a local Pinot Noir that rounded out the evening beautifully. Exceptional food, great atmosphere, and top-tier service. We will be back!

The place is super cute, gives a fancy vibe with the gold utensils, fabric napkins and their table salt is coarse with a little spoon to add to your food. I never went without an ice tea refill, server was prompt and checked in with us enough. We ordered fairly quickly and food really didn't take too long. Now....the food looks much better than it tastes, sadly. Starters we got rolls with whipped butter, the butter definitely was not whipped Brussel sprouts, which had bacon fried on it, but none of the bacon fat, and the gastrique was so minimal, that the sprouts were super dry. Artichokes, they were ok just bland, and the romesco sauce was lacking flavor as well. My friend got the tuna melt, she said it was ok I got the smash burger and their special sauce added a flavor I did not like at all, otherwise the meat was good, crispy edges and bun was soft!

I travel to Eugene a lot and am always looking for new restaurants to try...and had heard about Tavern on Main in Springfield and thought I wound give it a try. The place is located in a very cool space in the downtown area...and the wife and I arrived without a reservation but were greeted promptly and seared at a nice table. We both ordered drinks and food...service was pleasant but slow...it appears they had just one (maybe two?) servers for the restaurant and it was quite busy for a Wednesday evening. The wife and I both ordered the bread as an appetizer-- and the steak frites as a main entree. Bread came very quick...and was good. It came with a tasty butter that was also good...but we were not given and napkins (or utensils) and because the server was so busy it was difficult getting her attention...as you can see from the photo I ended up using my shirt as a napkin. The steak took some time but came out at the correct temp (med-rate) and presented well. It was very tender and a good portion...but we both felt it lacked seasoning. It was fine but not special. Fries were fine as well. The entire meal with bread, drinks and tip was $100...these days that is very fair. Overall we both felt this was a good dinner but nothing really stood out as special.

Tiny Ms. Bond's Vesper shot at $17

Was out and about last Friday and since I've been here before I decided to stop for lunch. The interior is nice and booths are comfortable. My server was prompt and attentive, and appeared to be the only server on duty. I ordered Ms. Bond's Vesper shot- Aviation gin, vodka, Cocchi Rosa, Dolin Blanc, grapefruit twist, served with a bump of caviar on a golden spoon. The drink was surprisingly spicy, and the tiny bit of caviar served on a golden spoon was delicious. I was in the mood for a tuna melt so I ordered it from their lunch menu. Boy was I disappointed. The bread looked like two pieces of Texas toast with about 2 tablespoons of extremely mushed up tuna salad that was not spread out to the edges of the sandwich. I did like the spicy bit of red pepper that was in the sandwich. there was a very small piece of very thin American cheese that was not even melted. I normally love tuna melts, but not this one. The pomme frites were good. The next time I'm in Springfield for lunch, I will try a different restaurant.

Decided to come here for dinner, first time with friends. Glad we had reservations as when we got here, it was super busy! Enjoyed the interior and art deco theme. Fun place for downtown Springfield. I enjoyed my Steak Frites. Everyone else had a Smash burger which they enjoyed. We also enjoyed the charcuterie, very tasty. The drink menu is a lot of fun, with some great options. I enjoyed trying their cocktails and the cute glasses they served them in. They did have a dessert menu but since we were all full, we opted out. Will go back for sure! Enjoyed this little piece of downtown Springfield. Fun to see nightlife come alive here.

Happy accident to happen upon this place. It was super quiet and clean. The lunch menu affordable with a variety of options you don't see everywhere like the sausage platter and lobster sliders. Everything we had was delicious. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely come here vs some of the noisier neighbors.

Best pretzel and beer cheese ever!
    Mel H.

You know how it is usually the pretzel or the cheese....but never both....well we got the holy grail of pretzels and beer cheese at the Tavern on Main in Springfield....rumor is they are removing it...so run over there now! We also had the wedge salad with steak (excellent) and the peach drink with bourbon...also great. I had red wine which was a perfect addition to the meal. Service and atmosphere are top notch.

    Squash blossoms.

The elote corn was the best we've ever had! So yummy! The service was excellent and we also had the squash blossoms and they were amazing!

Really good food. Was seeking the best Philly in the area. But they don't do those any more. I would have said it was the best.

We had the fish and chips for lunch. Fish was dry and everything was way to salty. Not much of a lunch menu to pick from.

Not too noisy for a tavern, full selection of beer and wine. Burger came out just the way I like it, medium rare and the fries were nice and crisp. I will be stopping back here on my way back to CA.

Last time we came for brunch, we noticed the eggs Benedict no longer has the amazing Parmesan-crusted potatoes. The hollandaise is still decent and the focaccia bread is great, but losing that crispy crust was a big bummer. Today's visit for our usual wings and nachos was even more frustrating. First, they no longer offer ground beef for the nachos. We were told we could substitute steak, but that literally doubles the price of the dish. We opted for chicken instead, which was a steep $7 extra for maybe two ounces of meat. When the nachos arrived, they looked like low-effort, homemade oven nachos with just melted cheddar on top. The whole thing was fused together into one giant sheet of chips; we had to break it apart and manually pile the toppings back onto the chips ourselves. It was really weird. The biggest letdown, though, was the wings. It used to be a solid order of six traditional flats and drums. Today, we paid $14 for just four pieces, and they weren't even wings--they were frenched chicken thighs. Subbing a completely different, lower-quality cut of meat without telling the customer is false advertising, and they turned out dry. Plus, the sauce has changed from a traditional Frank's-style buffalo to a harsh cayenne sauce. Between the wings and the nachos, today's total came out to $34--and $40 with a tip. Paying premium prices for dry thigh meat, overpriced add-ons, and a block of fused-together nachos makes it really hard to justify coming back. I'm not sure if North Fork got bought out or what, but I really don't see a point in returning.

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.
