Best EVER pasta with black truffles! Enter an eye catching…read moredinning area underneath a lightly washed stone arch support with warm red color decor and no kitschy nicknacks , and wsite a well dressed. A quite ambiance of refinement We ordered the pre-fix meal and they allowed us to substitute an item. With a glass of prosecco our appetizer was yellow carrot soup with a cauliflower -garlic bruschetta ; very tasty and unique. Next, a mushroom flan in a Parmesan pressed bowl. Paired well with the Multefalco wine. Then came the pasta. Prepared table side it was mixed with salted butter the shaved truffles were added. Not only superb taste but not heavy as I expected. And this too paired well with the regional wine! The meat dish followed. I had the veal with a balsamic demi glaze and my wife had the pork( a bit dry). Veal was tasty and tender. Next, dessert was a vanilla ice cream crepe covered in a tri-berry sauce. This was above average As to the wine, this is my first trip to Umbria where I finally tasted a superb regional wine; Multefalco. Two versions exist. The Rosso ,which is a blend , is a light bodied , fruit-forward wine. The other is a bit more expensive, called the Sagratino. This big, bold, tannin-rich wine easily unwinds in less then an hour into a well balanced, fruit-structured intricate wine. This is an undervalued wine. The most expensive we had in any restaurant was 45 euros for a bottle. Take advantage of it! I gave this place my highest rating for Gubbio because of its ambiance, service, wine knowledge and preparation, price but most of all the PASTA

The ambiance is charming, with a cozy, small-shop feel tucked away in the alleys of Italy. Umbria, the region's cuisine, is known for its bold flavors, local wines, and use of fresh herbs. We tried a few standout dishes: * Tagliolini al tartufo - 5/5 (Rich, earthy truffle flavor, perfectly cooked pasta) * Gnocchi al ragù - 4/5 (Soft gnocchi with a flavorful meat sauce) * Agnello (lamb) with roasted potatoes - 4/5 (Tender and well-seasoned, but could use a bit more crispiness) * Legumi e cereali soup (legume, cereal, and pumpkin soup) - 4/5 (Warm and hearty, great for a chilly day)

The service was pretty mediocre, as well as the food. I as expecting greatness, I mean a trattoria in Assisi!? C'mon!! I was definitely disappointed. My mother ordered gnocchi even though the sauce was pretty decent, they were made by flour, not potatoes, meaning no authentic. I had beef with rosemary and it was kinda bland, not what I was expecting. Prices were average, and they charge €2.5 Cover charge per person ( the infamous Cuperto) Not recommended

But (try this technique) by walking between tables seeing what people were eating, the pizza looked solid. Nice balance of ingredients to crust, alluring. Little was I to know, what a fantastic pizza this would be. The best pizza of my life (well, next to Da Michele's double buffalo mozz in Naples). I don't know if I got lucky, and all the pizza stars aligned when they threw this one together (the table next to me had multiple pizzas come around the same time, but none looked this great), but this scamorza cheese (a lot like mozzarella, but lightly smoked), eggplant, black olive and sublime sausage pizza was one of the most superb creations I've ever eaten. It puts most every other "dish" I've ever had on the back burner, because with most dishes, each bite tastes the same as the last, but with this pizza, every bite was different than the last, and each phenomenally delicious - - just spurring you on until you've enhaled the whole thing, and were supremely glad you did. Went pizza shopping tonight, from place to place (walk through restaurants, and see what they are serving, and what people are eating - - a real education), and finally settled on a very popular place where the pizzas looked OK (if not maybe a bit overly wide) and it was decent - - but it made me pine for the pizza from le Delizie. I mean, at le Delizie the topography was lovely - - no square inch of the 'za was like any other - - each bite had a different concentration of ingredients and a different texture. And even the edges around the crust were to die for, with wonderful light stretch and crunch, and still succulently moist, with a ravenously delicious red sauce (look how it glistens near the crust in the picture I'll attach). This pizza was absolute, total, perfection. Every bite of this pizza was luscious. It cost 7 Euro (plus 2 Euro coperto); the 1/2 liter of sparkling wine from a spigot was cheap, zingy, and refreshing. And after the meal there is a complementary carafe of limoncello, and the service was adept. I mean, for chrissakes, every "Italian" place in the States is nowhere in the same ballpark as a place like this. I'll keep pounding the pavement looking for something in Rimini even close to this standard [wait, no, I'm going back tomorrow - - I've learned my lesson.] .

The menu has a description in English so ordering was not difficult. The food is reasonably priced, portioned and delicious. I had the gnocchi with sausage. Soft gnocchi and creamy sauce matched well with the texture of the sausage. I had a glass of the house white, also inexpensive. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. A note to other tourists if not already aware: there is a bread/ service charge which is standard. The one here was two euros.

We ended up wandering for a while since we had no idea where to go and what to eat and stumbled upon Osteria della Piazza in a little plaza. We didn't make it to the restaurant until late at night and since Ancona is not a well traveled city by tourists, we were really the only non-locals there. Our meals were exactly what we needed and absolutely delicious. They had a great menu and an extremely helpful staff. Since we knew nothing about the city we were able to direct us to a favorite local gelateria out in a square for dessert after our dinner.
