Not thrilled. Used Nataly for several years until there was a misunderstanding about the rate which had been the same every year. When they tried to charge me more the in last year I used them, even after she indicated the rate would remain the same, I questioned it. I was told that her time was too valuable not to charge the new rate. Fine, but then don't indicate the rate would remain unchanged. Even so, I tried contacting them last year to re-engage and received no reply. It's too bad because I can bring them good business, esp. since they have relocated again to a closer location to my home. I'll keep looking. Unprofessional. Find a family business that takes care of their customers and employees. I found the owners to be rude and inconsiderate. Edit- just messaged back as I just saw where the messages are located. I didn't want to go into detail here on my experience but since they want to discredit my communication with them. I overheard them being really disrespectful to an employee of theirs and I will not be doing business with people who cannot treat their own employees with respect. I normally prepare our taxes but 2020 was a very different year for us. So I decided to seek out some professional help. I messaged the business and Joe got back to me quickly. We had a brief phone conversation and I explained our situation and Joe mentioned running different scenarios to see what would be best for us. The ease of the whole process was great! We uploaded all our tax documents into their secure portal and Joe had them done within a couple weeks. He went over all the scenarios with us and recommend what he felt was best for us. We tried to do our own taxes this year with Turbo Tax. With turbo tax we we're going to owe an obscene amount of money. We figured we must have entered in the numbers incorrectly somewhere. So we decided to seek professional help. I found TaxAce on Yelp and their reviews were very promising. I looked up reviews for HR block and the reviews were awful. Joe and Nataly are a husband and wife team and they know their tax knowledge very well. They both sit down and take the time to EDUCATE you about how taxes work and how to make it work towards your advantage. It's shocking how very little we know about taxes, given that my husband and I are both well educated. Joe and Nataly take the anxiety part of doing taxes and really sit down and work the numbers with you line by line. They understand how financially and emotionally draining tax time can be, at least for those of us who have to pay every year!!! (You're very lucky if you get a tax refund every year btw) We worked directly with Joe. During tax season they are open 7 days a week. We got the last appointment for a Tuesday night and he stayed long past closing to make sure we had all our ducks lined up in a row. The total appointment time took about two hours. He's very professional, kind and detail oriented. Exactly what you want in a tax guy! Joe got us out of what could have been a financial disaster and we ended up saving more than half of what we would have paid if we had used Turbo tax! I hate that we had to pay this year, but nonetheless at least I'm still saving lots of money! I have been so busy with working long hours in addition to dealing with distance learning with my daughter that the thought of doing my own taxes seemed like too much work. However, I knew 2020 was a different year, and therefore, I had more tax forms than normal. I initiated my tax return using tax act and saw an estimate as to what my refund would look like, but with a few new forms related to a rollover and a refinance, something told me it was better to get a professional to look at it. I saw the great reviews with Tax Ace and reached out via yelp. I was able to get in contact with ValJoseph (Joe) and we spoke a lot via email while I was making a decision on whether to get my taxes professionally done or not. Joe was so knowledgeable on the tax code and certain deductions just in our email conversations, I decided to become a customer of Tax Ace and I did not regret it. Joe gave me an estimate based on all of my forms, he said it may go a little above once they receive everything. A few days later, my taxes were complete and they were scheduling a zoom call to go over my return line by line. Obviously with COVID, I am choosing my physical environments, so I appreciated the zoom option. Joe and I spoke for about an hour and went through my entire federal and state return. I ended up getting more as part of my itemized deductions and once the invoice was paid, it was submitted 2 days later. By Monday evening, I had my return copy in my hand. Now just the waiting period for my return. The pricing to me was a little expensive, however, I did have a lot of forms that required input, so I cannot put a price on that. I think going the cheap route so many times, you just become accustomed to that not understanding the effort it takes to complete a tax return, even though a program. One of the positives that I enjoyed so much was when I got my physical copy of my return, it had a two year analysis, showed my tax bracket and provided a break down of areas of improvement and possibly changes to my pre-tax deductions and so forth which will initiate my discussion with Joe later this summer. The fact that this came standard was amazing and when I use Joe again next year, I will be able to see a full picture. I truly enjoyed the service that Joe provided and I look forward to working with him again this summer.
