I have been going to this DMV since I moved to Jacksonville. All the staff is SUPER nice! My sister got her driver's license today and it was such an easy process. Unfortunately I had to make an appointment for a mistake either the dealer or DMV made. Thankfully the appointment wasn't very hard to make online. I showed up 10 mins early and checked in at the front desk. I was called over speaker and texted that the next window was ready for me exactly at my appointment time. I was out in 4 mins. Liked the idea of waiting in line by checking in on your phone however would be even better if the system actually worked. I'm writing this review as I continue to wait in line for a title to be registered. Checked in and had a 2 hour wait which was ok as I was getting off work in that time. I showed up to being "next in line" however as an hour has now passed I was skipped by another person with the same last 4 digit phone number.... ahh another enjoyable DMV experience. You know, you already have low af expectations when you go into a tax collectors office, the people are rude, horrible at explaining anything that's going on even thought they've somehow managed to get this job, and the room is always freezing. But this place is on my list of all time worst experiences. First, because of COVID you have to make an appointment for everything, ok that's fine, right? We needed new drivers licenses since we just moved here and to register our cars in the state of Florida so I could stop driving with an expired registration. The website said they release appointments online at midnight, so my husband stayed up on a week night until midnight, but no appointments were released. My husband contacted them and was like umm no appointments were released and they gave us an "open" appointment for 3pm on a Monday. We took off work and got there at 2:50 to check in, waited for TWO HOURS outside in the humid rainy weather, while watching everyone else who arrived at the same time as us come and go. I was like, surely they didn't check us in. So we checked at the front desk and the lady said, "yeah you're checked in." We waited inside when most people had left and chairs were open finally, me sitting next to my husband who I live with, who my appointment was with, and who I checked in with and then suddenly we got yelled at for not sitting 6 feet apart from each other... like I'm sorry what kind of rule is that when you're literally being seen together, and the room was almost completely empty? Not to mention the ladies are in the back break room congregating all together, definitely not following social distance guidelines themselves. So the office closed at 4:30 and they finally called us up (together) at 4:45, last of everyone, where we stood within 2 feet of the lady across from us who was able our handle our paperwork, which ended up taking 45 minutes.
