There is a bike trail you can take to get into the city or ride the roads, as many people there are biking, there are bike lanes. Our room was very spacious and I liked that the toilet was in a separate space than the shower and main sink . The breakfast buffet was your typical european with pastries, meats, cheese, breads, cereals, yogurt. Along with the buffet, you can order eggs, cooked as you choose. There is no air conditioning, though there was a fan in the room. WIth the cooler night temp, open window and the fan, it was sufficient. I don't know if that would be the case on a very hot day. One tip - we were in room 14, which is on the back of the building. If it is summer and you are going to have the windows open, if other guests are leaving very early and you aren't planning to get up early, the noise from them in the parking lot can carry up a bit. Unfortunately, their restaurant was closed the week we were there, so we didn't get to try it!

The view from the campsite is gorgeous, you overlook the entire city of Salzburg. The camp site is close to a bus stop if you don't mind a short walk through a field to the 13 bus. If you need directions the management in the office is more than happy to oblige. The office closes around 10pm so call ahead or try and get there early and they only take cash transactions. There is a small shop inside the office area where you can get butter, other breakfast treats and of course the famous Stiegl beer.

You'll need to scan it each time for entry. It's a 15 minute ride each way by cable car to Katrin. The cable car seats 4 at a time. There's a platform with great views at the top and restaurant. If you hike down the platform, you'll see the information cabin. Restrooms are at the bottom and top. It's 1400 meters above sea level, with panoramic view of Salzkammergut. Which is an Austrian region of lakes and alpine on the northern edge of the Alps. We got lucky with the weather while we were at the top. Once we began to descend, it started raining. Make sure you check the forecast and webcams before you go. There's not much to do up here but to admire the views and breathe the great open air.

The hotel grounds looked nice as well, it seems like it would be a lovely place to stay.
