Keep them at home or try another park nearby. This one was clearly made with the kiddos in mind.

You can access it via the street - though it's called Highgate, Highgate Ave actually turns into Masefield right around the section where you can find the entrance to the playground and trail access (it's labeled as Olentangy Bike Trail, HIghgate Entrance" on the signage). There's street parking available. The playground is very nice! It is good sized. There are swings (traditional and baby), a play area for little kids, and a play area for bigger kids. There's a fun little garden with a tiny walking path, and a large rock that's good for climbing and jumping. The spinny toy here works really well and kids who are big enough can do it themselves. There's a very interesting 'arch' like structure that it like an upside down see saw, as a kid can sit on each end. It also has hand holds that let them use it kind of like monkey bars or just hang. There are multiple slides, monkey bars, and lots of climbing structures. There is good shade around several benches and picnic tables nearby.

Beautiful park, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We were there mainly for the playground, of course, but Kid K is getting a bit big for them. At this one, the smaller, "houses" section is clearly for little kids, but she wanted to play there anyway. It is a blast, all sorts of things for them to do. Then it was swings, pretty old-school but fun. Then the "modern" playset, with slides and ropes and all sorts of more athletic things to do. She loved that too. Decent parking lot (though overflowing on a sunny Mother's Day Sunday.) Benches for tired parents. Rolling hills, loads of trees (though only a couple for shade at the playground.) It seems like it might be a "neighborhood" park since it is located back in a subdivision and surrounded by residential homes but still felt welcoming. There were many families coming and out.

This is a fine neighborhood park, just not a standout. Playing fields, a small pond, a little…read moreplayground, etc. A loop trail, which connects to other parks. A creek along the back. Plenty of parking, well-kept, easy to get to. I went to ride my bike, and that's where things went a bit downhill. There's not much room to ride in the park- great for kids, not for anyone interested in a longer ride. The paths connect to the Mudsock trail, which is mostly gravel. On the other end you can try to get to Hilliard Municipal park, which isn't much better. I recommend the many fine trails in other parts of central Ohio. In Hilliard, maybe start at Homestead Park and work north.

There's a creek here that they recently restored back to its original winding way and replanted native trees and plants. They also put a new bridge over it. It looks decent now. It had been just a straight trench filled with mostly stagnant water. In the 1800's the creek had been straightened for farm irrigation. Now it has been restored back to its original natural look. There's a paved trail that goes around the pond. It's good for joggers and bike riders or your kid's power wheels. There's plenty of parking here and a portapottie if you can stomach it. I usually just hold my pee.

Another favorite of Baby K, and a good park all around…read more Driving past, she didn't see regular playground stuff so was disappointed. It's a newer park, with sort of modernist play equipment. Once she tried it out, she loved it. Right now the big treehouse/slide area is closed, but there is a toddler playground, and swings, and the whole area has a soft rubber surface plus some "hills" that she liked running across. Nearby are several "porch swings" that are popular, plus a railroad station-looking shelter with bathrooms. There's a "Presidential Grove" of trees, and some open areas. Plenty of parking to the west- come in from the library lot. A great park, in a handy location. We'll be back.

The 2 slides have obstacle course you must climb to get to them and I can easily see kids getting stuck at top or falling. There's a lot of open space and I was very bummed to see how small the water area is and the park in general. This is definitely the worst splash pad in Columbus. Stinks because we live in Westerville. Hands down I'll still continue to travel to Powell, Hilliard, Delaware and Dublin before I come back to this extremely small park... The shelter is super small. Only positive in my eyes are the swinging chairs that watch the splash area and the bathrooms. Westerville you really disappointed me with this!!

There is a pretty large play space on hand too - two sets of swings, including traditional, baby/toddler, and an accessible one - bouncy vehicles to "ride," a section of neat climbing and balancing options, some of which we hadn't seen before, and a playground with slides, climbing options, an angled monkey bar for an intriguing challenge, and more. It has the added benefit of keeping kids running from one section to another, but you can still see them from the benches. There is some shade from nearby trees, as well. Parking is on the street, and someone has been taking really good care of the signage area - the flowers are gorgeous! Fun playground option!
