I have been scouting for a tattoo artist who can help work on my arm sleeve. I came across Taylor's Yelp business page, and saw an array of beautiful tattoo pieces. Initially going to the shop I was a little skeptical but sitting down and talking to Taylor I felt more confident. I found her page on instagram and was really impressed with her work and her self confidence really shows. I gave her multiple samples of what I was looking for in n a reference. She made her own design using the samples I gave her and loved what she came up with. She's very friendly and easy to talk to, plus has no problem taking a break if you need. The first tattoo I had (not with her) I bled a lot. Taylor however does not have a heavy hand and I didn't bleed at all. Originally I asked for a black and grey tattoo, before my second session I asked if she could add blue and she was able to accommodate without problem. I'm definitely planning on going back to her for more! read more

Called and got through to Taylor right away and she scheduled me for a same day appointment for the consultation. Unfortunately she was unable to make the appointment but I was met by Kasai who was right on time. Kasai was attentive and detail oriented. Once the sketch was complete he offered me the tattoo right then with a fair price. His line work is clean and I'm happy to go back. The parking is limited. Taylor was also really polite and friendly on the phone. read more

Some of my absolutely awesome tattooing experiences are with this place! Came for a consultation on my project (shown below) on a Friday and had my appointment booked for Sat immediately. Kasai was helping me out, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say my tattoo turns out to be even better than the model given thanks to his extreme attention to even the smallest details for 3 hours straight. Took my two friends and I in within 15 minutes. We scoured San Jose and Santa Cruz for fine line tattoo artists that had a reasonable minimum since we wanted small matching tattoos. Not only were we happy with the price for our inch long tattoos, we were also touched by their friendliness. And obviously the tattoo job :) Kasai did our tattoos. He is an expert at fine lines. He mixed the perfect color green for us and even took some freehand direction. It feels like they really enjoy what they do, and enjoy the people they meet doing it. I can't say enough good things about Taylor and my experience with her. She was so patient with my design, talked and understood what I wanted to create, and listened carefully. This was my first tattoo ever and I am so happy with the final product. I found Taylor on Instagram and then researched so many artists. I met with a few and no one treated me like Taylor. You can tell she has love for what she does and cares about her work. She is very light handed, I didn't even bleed, and also fell asleep during my session. My sessions were 2 days back to back and she took literally no breaks unless I wanted one. Her studio is super clean, her skills are unmatched, and her technique is next level. I can't thank Taylor enough for my art. It's something no one else has and means so much to me. I would recommend Taylor Ink 100 times over if I could. She is super booked out, took me almost 3 months to get on her books, but it was worth the wait. I will go back when I want more work for sure!!! First time getting a tattoo and I'm really glad it was Taylor who I got in contact with to discuss about getting a piece done. She was really responsive and great to work with. She took the time to explain the process and to make sure I had all my questions answered as they came up. I absolutely love the energy at this shop! A group of my friends and I randomly called to see if they would accept 6 walk-ins for small tattoos and Taylor welcomed us with open arms! Everyone at the shop was so kind and helpful. Kasai was our tattoo artist and he was so gentle. I went to several tattoo parlors on West Taylor St. in SJ with my own design, which was very intricate with detail and color. Everyone turned me down saying it was out of their depth. But KASAI at Taylor ink confidently told me he could do it. I was a little skeptical at first, but after seeing the ink sketch of my design, I knew it was going to happen. KASAI is extremely talented & focused-a true artisan of ink. If he can do such an intricate design as mine, I'm positive he can do any design, all while making you feel comfortable and relaxed-despite the hot needle. I recently just made an appointment with Taylor for a sleeve cover-up to cover up my old tattoo that I was no longer fond of. And Taylor went completely beyond my expectations! I was struggling to pick out the right idea for a cover up, however she swooped in and was so helpful with her ideas. And we ended up deciding on a rose flower with petals falling for my cover up! I am absolutely in love with it! It has now been 8 months and the color healed ever so vibrant and still looks brand new! I will definitely have Taylor draw my future tattoos for sure. I recently lost my dad and I messaged her asking for an appointment to get a small tattoo to memorialize him. Even though she's booked out until October she told me she wanted to do the tattoo the NEXT DAY! I went in and she was so professional and personable; I want to be her friend lol. Tiffany was very nice and patient. She made sure that I had all of the answers before proceeding with the tattooing. It's about an inch tattoo on my arm, so it only took like 15min. The pain was manageable without any numbing cream. It was more intense when tattooing over some scars. I followed Tiffany's instructions on after care and everything went smoothly. It's been almost a month and I love how it turned out. I recommend Tiffany.

My first visit was for a partial cover-up that transitioned into a tribal tattoo. I researched very carefully because I was intentionally seeking women tattoo artists who specialize in tribal work. The story I'm telling through my tattoos matters deeply to me, and respect for symbolism is essential. That search led me to Mel. After seeing her work, I booked a consultation--and she more than lived up to her reputation. My long-term project is to have women tattoo artists visually gift my life story in Polynesian and Filipino tribal styles across the entire right side of my body. While I also proudly wear tattoos by male artists on the other side--chosen just as intentionally--I want this side to honor women artists who truly understand and respect tribal symbolism. Mel is absolutely among the best. A few weeks ago, I returned during Humble Beginnings' Black Friday flash sale and got a rose tattoo on my arm--this time by Kim. She did such an incredible job that I'm already planning to go back to her for a rose half-sleeve. I'll also be returning to Mel to continue work on my leg and complete another section of my side. I do not think they keep track of appointments and, if they do, I simply cannot imagine how. I have tried texting and the response I get every time is "ok", even if I ask a question in my appointment request. I've tried making an appointment online and the appointment slots are always available and open, which can't be true. While in the salon, I've seen them answer the phone when someone calls to make an appointment, they are always on speakerphone, and I have never seen anyone write anything down after the phone call, they say ok and then just continue to work. Out of the 5 or 6 times I've been here I have only been seen at the time of my appointment once. Once! I am often waiting 30-45 mins and I stay because I have a very tight schedule and make appointments on the only days I can. I'm currently sitting waiting for my 5:00 appointment and it is 5:40 and there are 5 others also waiting, though I don't know what time their appointments are or were. (At 5:06 my manicurist asked me to wait 15 mins and I said fine....but I ended up leaving at 5:45 because she was doing someone's pedicure.) I have always been happy with the services I've received here and their prices are reasonable, which are the reasons for the 2 stars, but I simply will not be back due to their constant lack of respect of "appointment times".

initially had a good review but, removed it due to unprofessionalism. i got my first tattoo by benny on may 5th. my session was 3 hours, $500 and tipped $80. everything was great until i noticed how unfinished my tattoo was. how the "water dots" turned into blobs and the wave in my tattoo, looks more like tree branches. i mentioned this issue through text and was completely ignored by benny. since i tipped, i thought i'd at least get a response. i wasn't rude when communicating the flaws in my tattoo and as a tattoo artist, you should be able to handle criticism. fast forward to june 3rd, when i went w a friend to get a touch up from her hand tattoo, which lasted less than two weeks. my friend and i were extremely uncomfortable, we weren't greeted, just stared at. i saw benny face to face, after ignoring my texts, and he had absolutely nothing to say. it's unfair and very unprofessional for the amount i paid, as well as tipping to be treated like this. as a tattoo artist, do better, if a client is giving you suggesting on your work, listen. my friend and i have pieces that we strongly dislike because our pieces look nothing like the reference pictures, we will not be going back to taylor's ink. i'm very disappointed and would not recommend getting tattooed here. read more

Well, this is far from my first tattoo, but it was definitely my best experience. Taylor and her crew are kind, welcoming people, not to mention insanely skilled! From the first moment i had my consultation with Taylor, i was reassured and excited for my tattoo. Taylor took my childish doodle and turned it into an absolute masterpiece, putting it on my arm with a gentle hand and a great attitude. During the hours i sat, i got to see Taylor and the other artists welcome everyone who came in, offering genuine care no matter what people were there for. I definitely struggled with pain for my second session, but Taylor did her best to make sure i was okay. Checking in, apologizing for the pain, she took great care of me, including keeping me distracted with her conversation. The energy in the shop is great. Everyone there was friendly, from the artists to the other clients. That can be hard to find in a tattoo shop. Besides that, im legitimately trying not to cry over this tattoo. It turned out better than i could have ever imagined. Taylor is a delight in every facet, and i cannot wait for the next time i can get another tattoo from her! read more

Looking for place to get tattooed in the Bay Area? Look no further! Taylor Ink is the way to go if you want a professional artist to work on your body. I contacted Taylor via Text for a consultation appointment a few weeks ago, she replied back to me within 15 mins. I was in the shop the following day discussing ideas to finalize the design I want. Since this was my first tattoo experience, she throughly explain the entire process and wanted to see if I was (actually) ready for my first tattoo. Taylor quickly realized I was ready by how eager I was. We then moved on by booking an appointment date. Day of appointment: I walked in and Taylor had a big smile on her face, and she greeted me with a loud, "Hi!!! Are you ready?!! I can't wait to show you what the final design looks like!" Highly recommend!! If you are hesitating and don't know where to get the tattoo, come to this place. Explain your idea, they'll help you to draw and give you the best tattoo that you could ever have. There are two tattoo artists and one piercer; Taylor, Kasai and Chu (she's so adorable!!!) I had three friends that got the tattoo here before and all of them love the result. All artists are amazing, Taylor is no longer doing small tattoos so if you want to get a big one, come to her. With those who want smaller tattoos, Kasai will fit you best. They accept all designs and literally can tattoo anywhere that you want in your body. Where do I even start?! I came across this amazing shop since I live nearby. I called to see if Taylor could fit me in her schedule being as I only came to San Jose to visit for a few days! I was lucky enough to get tatted the same day! I have never met an artist who truly cares about the client as much as she did, as soon as I walked in I felt comfortable and already knew I'd be coming back to get more! She has an amazing hand didn't even feel a thing! I could honestly say I wish I had Taylor in Virginia to get more but I will be coming back and hopefully I'll have an appointment next time. Had a great experience at Taylor Ink! Went in with my 2 adult children to get matching tattoos. They were very professional, friendly and did an excellent job on the tattoos. They did a great job working with the 2 of us who were getting tattoos for the first time. My eldest child had received the tattoo we were matching previously by Taylor Ink so they were great at using the original artwork created by my 2nd child. While the 2 of us were getting our Scottish Highland cows my eldest got a really cute bridge on her thigh. Shop was immaculately clean and they did a thorough job of disinfecting everything before they started. My youngest is looking forward to turning 18 so they can add to our collection of highland cows. read more

When I say Taylor is one of the best tattoo artists in San Jose, that is a severe understatement. She is hands down, one of the best tattoo artists I have ever seen. Coming from someone who is particularly picky with who they get their tattoos from, I would recommend Taylor to everyone. She is very truthful and you can tell she values every one of her customers. This shop has been an extremely pleasant experience! The owner is very friendly and nice, does some crazy good work too. Kasai did my leshen piece, and due to the level of detail he applies to his pieces, ill definitely be getting my sleeve finished by him. He has a lighter hand, for those wondering. He's detailed, but not too slow. Overall this piece took about 10 hours from start to finish. Everyone is quite nice and communal, which is really cool and something I highly desire in a tattoo shop. music kinda slaps too haha. Price is about average, not too expensive not too cheap. My friends and I wanted to all get matching tattoos and kasai did an amazing job on all of our tattoos. We got a last minute booking and Taylor accommodated all of us really well. Kasai had to work on 7 girls and I know that can be a lot but he was so patient with all of us. He has such a light hand and made everyone feeling comfortable. While we were all getting our tattoos Taylor made sure the rest of us felt comfortable and taken care of. I came in and got my first ever tattoos right away after talking about it and the details. Taylor is very funny, sweet, and nice and although I didn't get my tattoo from her, her work is very beautiful- you can see them on her instagram page! Kasai was my tattoo artist and he is incredibly great at detail especially if you're looking for smaller detailed or shaded tattoos. He was patient and gentle throughout the whole process. I messaged her one late afternoon and she replied back in just a couple of minutes. From the beginning, the staff at Taylor Ink were incredibly helpful in answering our questions before scheduling an appointment. On the day of the appointment, we were running late but Kasai was extremely understanding and accommodating. Once we arrived at the store, Kasai greeted us and began asking about our design. I just went here for my ear piercing recently and must say the service is excellent here. They are sooo nice and friendly . The person who did for me, her name is CHU. She really did a good job and she always communicate and ask ab how im feelin talk w me so that i dont feel nervous. she really do her work with a heart. And i have to say I was surprised at how fast she did it before I realized it was done. i barely feel hurt . I will always highly recommend her with everyone. Well I called early Sat. morning (7-22-23) and they were able to get me in the same day. The owner Thu was so sweet and friendly, you immediately felt comfortable. The artist Benny that did my skull tattoo has extraordinary artistic skills. I am beyond happen with the work he did. If I could figure out how to upload a picture of it, I would. Just came into the shop yesterday with two ideas in mind they helped me put it into one and made a beautiful portrait with the date of my daughter the details on the tattoo are amazing the hospitality was 100008900 out of like ten they make you feel so welcome and loved hahaha they offer you drinks and snacks as you go treat you like family not a bad price at all and the artist named kasai is one he'll of an artist would recommend him to anybody hands down will for sure be coming back next month again already read more
