It was easy to get a spot as few people were there. For drinks, I got the Copilot, and for the food, we got oysters and fish and chips. The Copilot was not good and very strong; it needed to be mixed better. The oysters were small and very good. The fish and chips had light batter and was the best part of the meal. Ordering is really a conversation, instead of choices. You ask the host/server and request whatever customization you fancy. They are knowledgeable and flexible and helpful. Really, really delicious. Pro tip: the Kumamoto oysters are the sweetest! The Caesar salad is one of the best I've ever had, the house made pickled veggies are a flavor bomb (but they are VERY GARLICY), the deviled eggs are good if you're really into buffalo hot sauce (next time I'll probably ask for the sauce on the side), and the geoduck is really the headliner. My only feedback is that they have started adding the 20% surcharge on top of your bill (and make it clear that you should still tip) but they only tell you when you're done eating and they bring the check. I really hate that and think it should be mentioned once you're seated. But maybe that's just me. read more

This is THE place for fresh oysters. My friends and I originally tried coming here when we arrived to Seattle but it was a 2 hour wait which collided with our plans. We were so determined to try this place before we leave so on our last day, we canceled our reservations for another place and came to Taylor Shellfish at 45 minutes before they opened. We were sitting down in their outdoor seating area for them to open, but a lot of people started forming a line starting at the entrance. So if you come early, make sure to stand by the door cause the line piles up quick. I got the shuckers dozen and shared the geoduck sashimi special. The oysters were extremely fresh and you can see them shucking it before they serve it. It was my first time having geoduck and it was pretty good. While in Seattle there are a few things you must try. Did the Gum Wall and walked the public market so the last thing to do for the night was try out the oysters in the area. Firing up Yelp and searching oyster shown there was a few on the list. One was Elliott's and the other was Taylor Shellfish. Both had high marks, but Taylor was just a bit higher, so we decided to head to Taylor's. Located in Pioneer Square, the neighborhood isn't as nice as downtown Seattle, but don't let that deter you. You are after the best oysters in the city, and the neighborhood is just part of the experience. Walking in Tuesday night, we were seated immediately. The staff was knowledgeable and informed us what oysters were available. From Pacific to Virginica and everything in between they had it. The server asked us to scan the QR code on the table and then provided his recommendation. Wanting to try everything, we decided to opt for the Shucker's dozen which allows us to try four different types of oysters. We also saw that they had geoduck sashimi, so I had to try that and finally finished our order with a cup of geoduck chowder. I'm sure you can tell I'm a fan of geoduck. Within five mins after ordering, the plate of oysters and sashimi-ed geoduck was place on our table. Our server identified the 4 different types of oysters as well as the different parts of the geoduck on the plate. The plate didn't come with cocktail sauce, which can be ordered separately if wanted, but it did come with Soy, Wasabi, and their House Sauce. Biting in, the large oysters, I can taste the fresh with a hint of sweetness of the sea. Each oyster had a pinch of salt added to them which added a unique touch when paired with house sauce. The Geoduck had a crisp of freshness and didn't taste fishy at all. All good signs that the dish was super fresh, and the raw dish did not disappoint. The chowder was the standard chowder with bits of geoduck added to it. Coming from Pike's I would recommend skipping the chowder and getting more oysters. Overall, it was a great experience and should be added to any visitor's POI list. read more

The additional required service charge for dine-in (of which little actually goes to employees directly) was super annoying and not a tip, so you basically tip twice. Tried to order the Oyster Po' Boy on the menu, but the fryer wasn't on yet, so instead we ordered the Baked Oysters and a Macrina Baguette. Both of the sauces for the Baked Oysters were good, since we tried both, two with the buttered parmesan and two with the KRAK, which was fish sauce and cilantro. I would recommend trying both, since they both were tasty and we soaked up any remaining sauce with the chewy bread. The oysters are small, so don't expect to be satisfied with just these. The Geoduck Carpaccio was very disappointing since the dish was overpowered by the heavy vinaigrette. The presentation also was not as expected since the little bit of geoduck was presented in a small bowl which helped hide the small pieces of geoduck that were swimming in the sauce. Next time we will try the Geoduck Sashimi, so we can taste the mild sweet flavor of the geoduck. The Chicory and Beet Salad was fairly large and dressed lightly making it a good salad to share, though a few more walnuts would of made it better. read more

We came at around 2 pm on a Saturday and the dining room was only half full, so there was no wait. We had our choice of seats and was helped by Joel, who was awesome. We got the Shuckers Dozen ($36) plus cocktail sauce and horseradish ($1 each), their famous dungeness crab with OMG sauce ($60) and I tried a Ruben's pilsner ($7). What a great meal! The oysters were as fresh as you would imagine and perfectly shucked. The crab was excellent! Served cold, cracked, and ready for you to dip into the indulgent, rich OMG be sauce. I'd happily return here, not only for the food but for the friendly, excellent service. Please note that the 18.9% service charge is not tip! Came here for a little oyster fix, and it was great! Dawn was our server and she was one of the best. We were doing the whole tourist thing so naturally my phone was close to dying and needed it to get home for directions,etc. Dawn greeted us very politely, showed us to the restroom, and even offered to charge my phone when she didn't have to.
