Oooo, this one JUST missed out on a five star review but man, is this place fun. The play equipment…read moreis kind of average except it has one rather large draw card up its sleeve..........a flying fox! I'm not talking about the usual three meter metal structure that you see at a lot of playgrounds, and in its own right, is a lot of fun. I'm talking about a real swinging, cable, go-from-up-high-and-then-lower flying fox! As I was leaving a car pulled up with 2 girls about aged 9-10. They burst out of the car doors yelling "Yay! I LOVE this playground!" I wiped a small tear from my eye (joke) and walked away smiling. This is what playgrounds should be about. They should be a place where children laugh and run and play and balance and fall over, and try again, and get better at doing things every time they go there. The girls ran straight over to the flying fox and I can imagine they would have been there for quite some time. This playground also has a sheltered seating area in between the flying fox and the other playground equipment. We stopped here to eat our lunch the other day when we were out. Purely because it was nice and…read moreshady and had somewhere undercover for us to sit down at an actual table too. And when we turned up it was nice and quiet with no one else there. Not for long..... We had barely started eating when two dads rock up with their daughters (4 of them) for school holidays play obviously. Nice to see. They put sunscreen on and then ran straight to the flying fox. They took it in turns and did not stop or even look at any other play equipment. And the screams from 4 young girls on that type of equipment. Serious headache. So when we finished lunch my son went on the playground for a while and we both had fun with the spinning thing (even tho part of it was broken when we went, come to think of it two of the lights on the pathway were broken too). In the end I said to him let's go, you can go on the flying fox another day. I had warned him as soon as they got out of the car that if he wanted a go he better put his food down and go now before they get there, but he decided food was more important at the time). Plus another group came down as well with their cricket stuff and played on the grassed area. o it quite a popular place and we will probably visit there again one day so he can have a shot on the flying fox. Fifth star must be with the toilets because they aren't here either :-(

What a great little (big) place to take the family. This place has far more then your usual reserve…read morewill offer. Wait for it. It has a train (little train). Ok it is a miniature train, but you can ride on it. What else does this park have that you have given 5 stars to I hear you say? Well it has archery boards, and an awesome track for your remote control cars. I was a bit of a distance away and was on a school excursion so couldn't wander far but some big kids (adults) were testing out their skills on this day. It has a great viewing area raised high off the ground so if this is your thing then this is the place. Unsure of whether there was a BBQ but they do have a new toilet block and plenty of shade around the place.

Look at all the room behind the playground. Can't you see your children riding up the gentle hill and then turning around and having fun flying back down? The playground itself is quite entertaining as it is, but to be in such a great spot with so much space added to my "I love a playground" spot in my heart ;-) There is a shaded area with seating but no table. I couldn't see a drinking fountain either, otherwise I wouldn't have hesitated to stamp a four star rating all over this baby (we all know how much I love a drinking fountain! This is such a cute toddler playground. All the equipment is geared for the younger children and…read morethe toilet block stands out for more than one reason, but at least there IS a toilet block. The whole area is bark chipped with a couple of smaller sections (usually 'landing' areas) which are rubber. This looks like a relatively new park but don't come here if you're expecting to entertain 10 year olds. The toilet block's mural is somewhat out of sync with the rest of the area and the age group that would use the playground, but it was painted by some local students from the school around the bend so in that sense, it has a nice community feel to it. The playground is fenced near the road but the other side of the toilet block backs onto a water catchment area. This is quite 'reedy' and invites some resident ducks to the area but this section is not fenced. It's really quite pretty and there are quite a few footpaths leading to different areas in the neighbouring streets. *Dogs allowed* *No drinking fountain* *Toilets close at hand* *Some shade from trees* *Bench seats under trees to get shade*

Located just behind a school, this playground doesn't really have a huge amount of exciting…read moreequipment, but it does have tennis courts and toilets (wheel chair accessible). The playground itself is pretty much the older style 'metal and wood' playgrounds which are so rife through the Southern area. The playground is on one side of the tennis courts and there's a large lawn area (not as big as an oval) on the other which has a drinking fountain. This is quite a well set up area and with more elaborate play equipment it could become a wonderful place for a family to have a day out. *Dogs allowed....there weren't any signs to say they could be there, but when tennis courts are involved, they're usually not allowed* *Some shade on the lawn area but not at playground* *Drinking fountain* *Tennis courts* *Toilets*

Despite the fact that this playground looks like it's had an army of children running over it for…read morean entire year, it's really very sweet.....and quiet! It's found in between Leonard Rd and Kathleen St and although it could use an update, it would be a quite entertaining place for children to be. It's VERY well used and I'm sure the children have had a great time playing in between the two fort-like structures. There is a bench seat that gets some shade from the gorgeous gums, but the playground itself would see more sun than shade. This is actually part of a larger park area (no other playgrounds) so it would be nice for a bike ride or walk at some stage. *Dogs allowed* *No drinking fountain*

This may not be the most comfortable place to be in summer but it's not a bad little playground…read morereally. It's set right back from the road and it's not a busy road at that. There's a sheltered table/chairs combo but it you're one to fry in the sun (like me) this may be the place you spend all of your time. There really is no shade nearby at all. If you check out the photos, there's trees behind the playground, in a little gully area, but in terms of shade nearby it ain't gonna happen. You can't quite see them through the trees, but behind that lovely assortment of gully-drinking greenness is a not-even-close-to-a-half court, and a you've-got-to-be-dreaming-skate ramp. they certainly aren't anything the skilled basketballer or skate boarder would get excited about but for a little tacker giving it all a go, it would be a great place to start. The drinking fountain works (HOORAY!) and the BBQ COULD work but I'm not sure. Even though this one wasn't littered with leaves like some I've seen, I don't think it's very responsible of me to start it and walk away. Knowing my luck something would have happened and I would have been responsible for burning down a community meeting place. I could never replace all that bark chip! ;-) This is something worth checking out if you're in the neighbouring streets/suburbs.....provided the BBQ works, otherwise it loses its draw card. If you've got a child who loves to climb, this could be a place to visit. This playground would…read morework for a few different age groups but if you have children quite substantially older (early teens), you may want to bring their bike while the younger ones play. There's no shortage of space here! The playground is spaced well away from any roads and while there may not be a lot of shade over the majority of the equipment, there is dappled shade from the trees dotted along the walking trails/footpaths. This is a playground and park that links in with a whole reserve of parks in the surrounding areas. If you're up for a bike ride, you could definitely get a good days exercise going from one park to the next. *Dogs allowed* *No drinking fountain* *No immediate toilets (although there would be some in the surrounding park areas if you're riding)* *Not a lot of shade*

This little playground has quite a set up. It's right next to a few tennis courts so it could be a case of 'fun for the whole family' depending on the ages of your children and if you were happy for them to play relatively unsupervised. It's quite a nice area, nestled In between the trees but the actual playground itself doesn't look like it would get too much shade. As you can see from the photo, there's a LOT of space here. There are paths that lead to and from…read moreneighbouring parks/reserves and if you're in the area, this would be a good place to let the children run amok for a while. The playground itself isn't THAT extensive but it sure isn't the worst there is. What I really like about this place is that it has a variety of parallel bars and 'chin up' bars at varying heights not too far from the playground. All the equipment is spread out a little....why wouldn't you when you've got all that space, but you may end up with different aged children all over place.
