First time to this Rome original. Rather unassuming exterior and relatively standard bar interior…read more Plenty of space and seating areas, an outdoor patio awaits for the warmer months. Prompt greeting by restaurant staff, and fast service. Pretty impressive, as waitstaff aren't so plentiful in the new normal. The food - so, I went purely by my coworker's recommendations- and that's how we played it. Started with the peppers and cheese - hot Hungarian longs with an oil and chili paste from what I could taste, served with several slices of provolone and thin sliced Italian bread. This was spectacular! Word to the wise, the oil can squirt out of the peppers pretty hot! For the main event, I went for the "World Famous Burger". A 1/2 lb burger on a luscious sesame seed bun. The burger was grilled to perfection and perfectly medium rare - the only thing that I would note is that it could have had more seasoning to the burger itself. Served with Terrell's ridged chips - no deep fryer availability for fries apparently.

Anthony Dematteo and his staff made this and the previous party remarkable. Dematteos is a very clean venue along with the bonus extension patio it was a hit. We had so much room. He stayed in contact to make sure no details were missed. Thank you for helping me make this party the success it was. Julie

To the right is their bar area with more tables and booths on the left side. 4 stars alone based on having the best homefries in the area. Served hot with great flavor plus great chocolate milk. The Italian scramble subbed hot sausage was large and excellent. Greens were good. Veggie omelet was also large and very good. Worth a ride for breakfast or lunch. Prices were reasonable.

Struggled with rating and review and want to try again during the week or on Saturday rather than on a Sunday. We placed our order and most of our party ordered sandwiches rather than a breakfast entree only to find out 40 minutes after our order was taken the chef was no longer going to offer lunch on Sundays. This should have been indicated by wait staff at a minimum and not 40 minutes after our order was taken. Menu that was given did not indicate that breakfast was only option on a Sunday. Additionally, they were out of several of the breakfast items so now our choices were limited. Had we known sooner we could have left and gone to several other restaurants for lunch. To top it off they ran out of creamer and we were given a carton from kitchen of half and half only to have wait staff grab container. Additionally, silverware that was wrapped in napkin was dirty and there was an added secret ingredient of a long strand of dark hair on syrup dispenser mind you none of us have long dark hair. I ordered an omelette which was OK and nothing special with home fries that had so much pepper I could not eat it. The toast was good but did not go there for bread. Just very disappointed after all the glowing comments on facebook

The provolone and roasted peppers appetizer delivers classic Italian flavors that never disappoint. For dinner, the variety and consistency keep us coming back: ravioli and meatballs are always satisfying, and the Friday special fried haddock Parmesan with pasta is especially memorable. The chicken vodka pasta is creamy and flavorful, while the large bowl of lemon chicken soup adds a comforting, fresh touch to any meal. No visit is complete without trying one of their delicious pastries or cakes, which are the perfect sweet ending. Generous portions, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere make Franklin Hotel the place we return to time and again when we're in Rome, whether for a relaxing dinner or a special occasion.
