Stopped in here to pick up dinner since it was right around the corner from my lunch spot. It was before Lent, but they had a sign up for a grilled fish sandwich that looked really good. It was my first time in, you form a line to the cashier from the door and place your order. I ordered to go so just waited, not sure how it worked for the people eating in. The dining room had plenty of tables and a lot were occupied. The cashier was super helpful and nice. She explained the menu and what I needed to pick. I ordered the fish with rice and salad and added on a lemon chicken orzo soup. When you join the rewards, you get to spin a cute little wheel for a prize! I snagged a free appetizer for when I return. I waited a bit for my food, not too long, gave me time to look around. Lots of windows and artwork that made the space bright and inviting. When I got home, I had a taste of the fish while it was still warm and it was so good! Lots of spices and very moist. I reheated everything for dinner, the sauce that came with the fish was really good, the rice was just ok to me but the salad and the soup were really good as well. It was genuinely hard to stop eating. * Hummus (3.5/5): A solid option with decent flavor. I've been in the mood for a gyro lately and finally decided to get one. We went around 6:00 on a Saturday night and it wasn't real busy, but there were some people there and people coming in for carry out/delivery We read through the displayed menu and then went to the counter to place our orders. The gal taking orders was pleasant and friendly. The service was pretty quick and the place was really clean. I would say the only negative for me was the taste of the beef in the gyro. We couldn't figure out what it was, but it had a strange flavor - and the gyro had a lot of meat in it. We'll be back - but I probably won't have beef! read more

I was so excited to see we were getting a Tazikis near my mom. I love Mediterranean food and am always looking for new places to try. This is a fast casual spot with a menu with a lot of options: dips, soups/ salads, full plates, bowls, gyros, and more. Tzatziki is my favorite condiment of all time so we split an order of that. It came with lots of pita bread, and I think adding cucumber would be awesome too. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken and all of the ingredients were so fresh. Fast and fresh! Ideal for a quick lunch pickup close to work. I had never heard of this chain before but was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality for a "fast casual" restaurant. Food was ready when I needed it and still warm even though I arrived ~5 minutes after the pickup time I had set. Online ordering was straightforward, but going in person seems like it would also be self-explanatory, with the menu set up by the door. There is a decently sized seating area for those eating in. The grilled vegetables in my rice bowl had bright flavor and seemed to go very well with the crispy pita, seasoned chicken breast, feta, and tzatziki sauce. It felt less "heavy" than some other options you might find when grabbing a quick lunch out. The only confusing thing about this spot is the name. I have had the chance to enjoy Taziki's catering when visiting Knoxville, so I was excited to try a location close to home! The harissa chicken gyro is one of my favorite menu items and it didn't disappoint. It's labeled as "spicy" but I feel like flavorful is a better description. I was out running errands and saw this and wanted to try a new place so I gave Taziki a try. Very welcoming coming in and the cashier was very helpful. There were lots of ppl sitting at tables waiting but food was continually coming out. It was clean and a decent size for the type of place. We went to Taziki's grand opening day and enjoyed trying their chicken gyro plate and kids' meals. The staff was super friendly and they gave away a few free hummus coupons for the grand opening promotions. My grilled chicken gyro was delicious with tomatoes, grilled onions, and creamy sauce, and my daughter enjoyed the kids' meal cheese tortilla and chips. I chose the roasted red potatoes as my side and they were lemony and flavorful. It looks like they offer convenient family feasts that can feed the whole family. Disappointing first experience here, and won't be back. Too bad because it seemed to have potential. Stopped by for dinner with my wife. We love Mediterranean food and "healthy fast food" was what we were looking for. After reading the menu and picking out what we wanted, we placed our order, got our own drinks and picked out a table. And then we waited, and waited and waited, It literally took half an hour to get our food. (I checked the time on my watch against the receipt.) The server brought out our salads and then asked, "did you already get your appetizer?". No, no we had not. So it came after our meals came out. Not good. Good was fine, but under seasoned. My chicken and potatoes were room temp and bland. Not sure what took so long, since its just plating precooked food it seems. There's a good amount of seating, but because to the long wait, there were several tables filled by people waiting, or that were dirty and in busses from previous guests, making it seem worse. Looked like lots of carry out orders. Decor is very basic, with a few pictures of Greece hung on the wall. Save the headache (and tip, why did I do that?!?!?) and go somewhere else. You will spend the same amount, get better food and spend the same amount of time. Js Piterea and Balkin Treat Box aren't that far away and are MUCH better for a similar cost and wait! read more

So excited that Taziki's opened up in Des Peres! It's a Mediterranean fast casual counter serve restaurant. They have a decent sized menu with lots of options. I got the spicy chicken harissa gyro, it comes with chips and a side (I got the tomato cucumber salad). Everything was delicious! The gyro wasn't very spicy but had great flavor and fresh ingredients. The tomato cucumber salad was delicious and the chips added a perfect crunch! I also got a baklava for dessert, it was really yummy and a great end to the meal! Service was relatively quick, you order at the counter, they give you a number, and then they bring your order out to you. I went on a Tuesday for lunch and it was surprisingly busy! The soup would be easier to consume if the chicken was cubed. The meat on the lamb gyro looked like ground beef because the meat was ground versus sliced. The gyro was flavorful. We drive by Taziki's frequently while running errands and Ms T has wanted to have lunch there. We finally did. I wanted to like it because I like Greek and Mediterranean food in general and gyros in particular. We just don't get it very often and I was ready. We started off by attending orientation class when we entered. I don't know if we could have skipped that and just read the menu ourselves, but clearly, we look like people who cannot read. I guess we passed because they let us in. Maybe if you lie and tell them, you have been there before, you can get a hall pass. Once you are through the orientation, you actually do go down the hall to the point of ordering. You order at the counter, and they bring your food. It is like being in a Smashburger. I did not do any due diligence before coming in and did not realize it is fast food. We each ordered gyros; she chicken and I lamb. I have to say that we were underwhelmed. She commented that her chicken was dried out and nearly unseasoned. My lamb was certainly not what I expected. I was expecting well-flavored lamb sliced off the spit and grilled a little. This was loose clumps of ground meat. I have never had anything like this. It also was almost unseasoned except for a sourness in the lamb, that could have been any meat. How would I know, there was no lamb flavor. The pita itself was delicious, soft and tender. It saved the meal, but the cucumber sauce was so harshly sour that it was unpleasant. I know these sauces are yogurt based, but this was exceptionally sour. I like sour, this was heavy handed. The serving was generous, but that does not make up for a gyro that I really did not enjoy. I just wonder. Did they run some focus groups with three-year olds and decide to spell the name on the business wrong, to dumb it down for the public? That's kind of cynical of them. I guess they figure if P'sghettis can get away with it, why not? And to top it off, they added an apostrophe because clearly the place is owned by Mr. and/or Ms Taziki although I don't think they were on the premises on this day. Anyway, it is close to home, I just wish it were better. I will save my Med/Greek cravings for elsewhere. read more

Honestly I'm flattered on how there's less people reviewing this place, because when I walked in it was packed. I stopped here to grab a quick lunch, which was exactly what I had- Ordering was fast, Receiving my food was fast, service in general was fast. You can tell they don't rush, though. The servers here are very friendly. Food itself was good and filling. I ordered pita and hummus which was delicous-both of them. I did also order a Gyro which was decent in my opinion. Decently seasoned, decent tasting. It didn't "wow" me, but that's alright. Restroom, tables and seats were also pretty tidy. I would go here again because it's convienent for me. Only giving 3 stars because the taste of the food is good and I don't want to totally tank your overall rating! The portion size is a different story. I'm not normally one to leave a negative review ever, but I do want to warn people against ordering the bowl. This is now my 3rd experience (and have talked to friends and coworkers with the same opinion) being served an extremely small portion size when ordering the bowl. This one cost $22 (+$9.50 to add shrimp) and look at how tiny the portion is!! Ridiculous pricing for the amount of food given. For context, I usually eat a chipotle bowl in 3 sittings or more and finish this bowl in one sitting every time still wanting more. I won't be returning :( read more

A couple things: I hate to rate a restaurant that's only opened six months ago. I'm an expert on Mediterranean food so it's either a pass or fail. I'd categorize this place as more fast food than restaurant. People and service is really good. But we're here to rank the food. The lamb gyro was bland. No tzatziki (if that sauce was tzatziki, it is not.) Lemon soup was very generic. Meatball Feast dinner is a little bland. Caesar salad is not even close to having a Caesar taste. The Falafel gyro did not taste like a classic falafel. That said, the food was fresh, pita good, salads fresh, and very clean place. If you're not versed in Greek or Mediterranean food... you will probably like this. The food is not bad tasting but if you want Greek/Medi food... this is not it. Waited over one hour for our food, while people who came in after us got their food. They gave other people pita for waiting longer than usual, but never offered us anything. Went up nice 2 times to see if they accidentally overlooked us. Each time told our order was next. Only to watch 5 orders go out after our "order that was next." I don't know what I received but it was nothing like a Gyro I've had in the past at other Greek restaurants. I'm not sure it was lamb meat. There was some type of oily dressing on the pita. Could not even taste the taziki sauce. The service was fast and efficient. But this was not what I expected. Will not have to return to this restaurant again. read more

Amazing food! Their salmon, shrimp and chicken is better than most high end restaurants in my opinion. We are addicted to this place. We eat here at least 1 time a week sometimes twice. We have tried almost everything and love it all. Of course we have our favorite's. My husband loves the ceasar dressing and I love the balsamic The service staff cares and seems happy to work there They remember details about our food orders. The portions are large in my opinion.
