I ordered takeout and got the grilled lamb gyro with pasta salad and chips. The lamb was soft and not dry, just a bit on the bland side. The gyro had plenty of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and everything tasted clean and simple. The chips were pretty standard and a small portion, and the pita itself was a little dry. For $15, the portion was generous and made for a filling lunch. It was a pretty solid meal and good value. I'd order again and try a different protein next time. read more

Oof, a bit of a disaster from the service perspective. Whole staff was goofing off in the back while I waited at the front register for several minutes. When the girl with the fake yellow hair and neck tattoo came out, she didn't know how to put in basic orders. And didn't know anything about the spinning prize wheel next to the register. Just really terrible customer service through and through and indicative of a generation of Gen Z'ers that have given up entirely on the concept of "take pride in your work." Stopped in for a lunch after an event at the Sports & Event center. I opted for the lamb gyro and it was SO good. It had a ton of flavor and had the right balance of items (lamb, pita, taziki sauce). It is counter service and the food is brought out to the table. The staff was very friendly and they also cleared the tables when you were done. Came here with my mom and ordered takeout. We were both hungry and quite tired after a long day at UF orientation. It is a clean restaurant and the menu is very straight forward, with plenty of your traditional Greek styled cuisine. The inside has a "Mediterranean" vibe about it with the decor and color scheme. The service is decent, a little slow though. We both ordered the lamb gyro with a side of the tomato cucumber salad. I opted for the roasted red potatoes instead of chips with my gyro. Along with our gyros, we ordered a Greek salad to split. The Greek salad was the perfect size and hit the spot. It was quite simple with greens, romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, Greek olives, red onion, feta, and a Greek dressing. It was really fresh, crisp, and healthy. Our gyros also hit the spot. The lamb meat was charred nicely and had good flavor. The tzatziki sauce was fresh and paired nicely with the lamb meat. The pita was soft and held the gyro together nicely. The tomato cucumber salad was also fresh and went very well with the gyro. My potatoes were not too oily, cooked perfectly, and had nice flavor! Overall, this was a pretty good meal. For a chain restaurant, Taziki's has some really solid food! Fresh and delicious, I was surprised at the quality. I got the chicken gyro sandwich. The chicken had nice char from the grill but still stayed really moist and tender. The addition of the tzatziki sauce really added a nice touch of freshness and crunch from the yogurt and cucumbers. I'm also glad they didn't overload the pita with lettuce and tomatoes, allowing the pita to maintain its texture without becoming soggy. Finally, the basmati rice side dish was surprisingly good. A nice hint of lemon and parsley, the fluffy rice was the perfect pair to the gyro. This place is definitely a good place to go if you want some fresh food fast :) read more

So this past weekend I went to Taziki's for a bit of lunch. I had been in the mood for some thing new in town, so drove around the new Butler area to find a place, and this place stuck out at me. First off, the place is clean and brightly lit, with plenty of seating, including some outdoor seating. It is counter order, so you go in and and make your order at the counter, but they deliver your food to you afterwards when it is ready. I ordered a lamb gyro, which means a gyro, some chips, and a fruit cup, but no drink for some reason. That came out to a bit over ten bucks after tax. Now, let me say that the chips and fruit cup are a nice addition, but not something that is needed, and sometimes you just want the wrap. The gyro is not all that big, but tasty. However, I know of other places in town where the gryo you order is somewhat larger, just as tasty, the meat is more authentic (I didn't see a loaf rotating on a spit for any of the meats available, which means that the meat was sitting in a bin in the grill area wating to be grilled off on their flat top), and to top it all off doesn't cost as much. It was nice for a change of pace, but I probably will not be going back since I know of other places in town that are simply better. read more

I ordered a Greek salad with lamb. It was ok. The service was fast. Not the authentic taste that I was looking for.

Ordered takeout for the first time from Taziki's. Chicken gyro, shrimp kebab, their version of Tzatziki sauce, hummus and veggies, pita, and a couple sides. Hummus was excellent, and the accompanying sliced yellow squash, zucchini, and cucumbers were nice, clean, and fresh. Tzatziki sauce was an oddity. I ordered both a large side and 4 small sides (I blame my brain fog out of the hospital). While the small sides tasted like proper tzatziki, the large side was seriously lacking in garlic and salt. Also, the fact they appeared to have run it through a food processor isn't great texture wise but didn't impact the flavor. The Greek pasta salad was perfect. Know how many places will overcook the pasta so that it's mushy, or undercook so that it's rubbery? Taziki's was just right, and the feta and vinegar and veggies blended together deliciously. Shrimp kebab was superb! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the veggies grilled nicely. Gyro I couldn't eat. Sucks to be me, but lamb anything is revolting to my taste buds, and unfortunately the chicken either had some lamb lurking or it was cooked on the same grill as the lamb. Potato chips on the side were from the bottom of the bag, more crumbs than chips. That said, there are exactly two (2) places in Gainesville whose gyros containing lamb are absolutely delicious to me: Sandy's Place, and Dave's NY Deli. Both their gyros do indeed contain lamb in a mixture with ground beef, but the flavor and seasoning is such that the lamb's gamey taste doesn't stick out nasty all by itself, but rather nicely complements the other toppings and the beef. Taziki's might want to work on this for us non-lamb folks. Overall a good experience, especially considering they likely got swamped by a surge due to Gatornationals. read more

We stopped at this restaurant to compare to a restaurant back in our home town with same name. The outside still looks new and built. The inside is kept clean. You will order when you first work in. You will self serve your drinks. Then you will seat yourself. They will deliver the food to your table. The good was above average. The portion size is bigger than average places. The good tasted fresh made. This place lived up to the expectations the other location set. We look forward to visiting this place again in the future. read more

I was on the lookout for some good Greek food and this seemed like a quick option. The service is quick and it is a semi self serve since you order at the counter, they bring the food to you and then you leave your garbage and they clean it up for you. I ordered the special on Wednesday, which was the spanakopita wrap and I was looking forward to it since I really like spanakopita. I was not expecting anything fancy, but I just was not expecting their portions to be so small. The wrap was the width of my two fingers with just one long piece of chicken and some lettuce and cheese. It came with four pieces but it definitely did not fill me up, even with the sides. I expected more for ~$10. The meal came with potato chips and my choice of a side, of which I chose the potatoes. The potatoes were seasoned well and pretty good. I'm not sure if I will come back, considering how I was still hungry after. read more

It felt so good to go back here again. Omg my go to salad never lets me down and is always made/cooked to perfection! I order the Mediterranean salad and I top it with salmon and it's thee absolute BOMB! I'm a salad girl who enjoys a BIG salad and they just know how to do it! The salad is super filling and doesn't make you feel full but very satisfied and good! I love tazikis the place is never crowded when we go, it felt good to go in and not feel suffocated or bombarded by many people. I also had a piece a baklava and OMG it's certainly a fave of mine but I rarely indulge because it's a lot of calories but weekends are for splurges and i certainly got one but I ate it before the food came, lol. There was a new guy who was learning how to take orders and ring up people and he was very nice. Staff who delivered our food and took our food(after we finished) was super sweet and had a mask on! So decided to order from this place again... to my dismay. Ordered from the Taziki's's app it's self so I imagined it would be a better non 3rd party experience. and the delivery driver didn't even bring my order he literally just showed up with an appetizer, he didn't speak English so I spent 5 min telling him he didn't even have the entrees I ordered. and when I called Taziki's the girl on the phone expressed to me that all she could do is refund my money because no one was available to bring it back to me. I told the guy that delivered it he needed to go get the rest of my order. So I hope he returns with it currently unsure... And when I spoke to the girl on the phone she said she tried to tell the guy and he forgot it, so there's nothing she could do about it because she is too busy. And that if he shows back up I could get my food or else I'd just get a refund. Basically could care less. For a $50+ meal... What the hell kind of customer service is this!?!?! What a joke! It's so sad because we really like this place but gainesvilles restaurant is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update the guy shows up with one meal ( not 2) and it was someone else's order!!!! the completely wrong order and when I called back they tell me that's not their problem because I had it delivered, that was the whole reason I ordered a delivery. He's like if you want to come up here and get it yourself blah blah blah. No I ordered it fucking delivery for a reason it's your job as a restaurant to get it right.
