​this is the worst bank I have ever had the displeasure of banking with. I had made a mistake and…read moreallowed a charge through my account for a monthly payment which was a total of about $1000. The monthly charge was maybe $100 if I remember correctly. Well, this purchase was not in my name and at the time, I thought it would be okay until I stopped getting the payment each month from the buyer so I called my bank to issue a stop payment. I had done this at least five times and had been told they couldn't. So every month, they would charge me NSF fees. I refused to use that checking account until they did their job and stop these payments. Well, they let these make believe charges add up. 40 and 40 and 40 and so on. Then they closed my checking account. No matter how many times I called to report and request that.. Nope.. They decided to take these FEES and turn them into a personal loan. I HAVE NEVER got a personal loan from these crooked people. NEVER. I have NOT signed no document to get a loan. These are THEIR bank fees. I then demanded they investigate this problem. Guess what? I had no calls from them but I have received about 8 calls a day from collection agencies. They now say I owe them over $400 for a personal loan that I NEVER received. These are fees for something they failed to stop! I even offered to pay the first fee if they can stop. They refused. I'm now on the phone on hold for 45 minutes so I can let them know, I WILL be seeking legal counsel. This shit is NOT legal. There is no fucking way we sign documents that say fees will turn into personal loans. What a scam company. NEVER BANK WITH CIBC. I hope this business goes under. What a joke of a bank.

I thought banks were supposed to be safe to put your money in but obviously CIBC is not a good bank to deal with when your money gets stolen!! I would never recommend this bank to anyone. The receptionist just straight up ignored me standing at her desk for a good minute full well knowing I was standing there. She didn't even look at me even though she was aware of my presence. Anybody whose banked in the past knows very well she could've given me the routing number, instead she points me to the teller line where I've been waiting for the last 10 mins just to get a damn routing number. Thanks again for the awesome customer service.
