This sushi spot is top notch. It's on the pricier side, but if you're looking for quality sushi, planning a date night, or trying to introduce someone to really good sushi, this is the place. My partner and I live nearby, so we come pretty often. Our usual order is the assorted nigiri, seared salmon carpaccio, blue toro carpaccio (more of a special occasion splurge), two orders of edamame because we refuse to share, and the salmon collar. The miso soup always hits and even the water tastes fresh. The space is small, so there can be a wait if you come on a busy time, but there are shops nearby to walk around while you wait. There's also parking inside the plaza plus street parking nearby.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of this sushi spot. We came in for dinner on Easter and the food and service did not disappoint! Servers were very attentive. Prices for food and drinks were very reasonable. We ordered baked salmon ( a dish i always order at all sushi spots). Okonomiyaki? Sp? And a few dishes togo for kids at home. I will definitely revisit. Cute spot for a date night or family dinner. Overall I was pleasantly surprised.
My second time to Te-Buru was just as wonderful as the first. Service was top-tier, lovely seating, and infused water. They have the best Miso Soup I've tried and it was not salty. I ordered Scallop Carpaccio, Hot Night Roll, and Mango Tango Roll. Everything was fresh, delicate, precise, refreshing, and delicious. The rolls were so fat and satisfying that I was unable to finish following the carpaccio.
What a gem! I was in the area and yelped sushi restaurants--this one was nearby, so I rolled the dice and I'm so glad I did. It's a small restaurant with music playing and a great buzz--everyone was busy in the best way. The staff was incredibly attentive from start to finish. We asked the host for recommendations (nothing spicy), and we couldn't have been happier with what we ordered. You start with complimentary miso soup, which was a nice touch. Then we ordered the garlic albacore roll and the jungle fever roll--both were sooooo good. Truly unique and packed with flavor. The crunchy garlic adds just the right crunch without being overpowering....I couldn't get enough! I usually get bored when sushi is just a slight variation of a California roll, but these were anything but that. We also tried a Korean peach-flavored wine--on the sweeter side, but absolutely delicious. Our server was beyond sweet. She noticed my mom's purse on the floor, picked it up (no bad luck!), placed it on her chair, and even spent a few moments chatting with her. Such thoughtful service. Can't wait to come back--highly recommend!
So happy to have found such an amazing spot while visiting Long Beach! We showed up right when they opened and they immediately seated us, asked if there were any dietary restrictions, and gave us time to enjoy their miso soup! I ordered their pork tonkatsu while my partner ordered the crunch roll and the tempura udon. The tonkatsu had two pork filets perfectly fried with the crispiest breading I've had, super savory salad, and a bowl of rice! For its price, it comes with a lot of food and kept me full for the rest of the day! The crunch roll was also nicely prepared and tasted incredible! If you're ever in Long Beach, you need to try this spot!
Came here with two of my college friends to catch up over dinner since we were in the area and craving sushi. This spot had good ratings and wasn't too far, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded, and the overall vibe was casual and comfortable -- good for hanging out and chatting. I ordered the chicken katsu, which was pretty solid. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and came with a good portion of rice and sides. My friends ordered a few sushi rolls, and everything looked fresh and well-prepared. We also shared a bottle of soju, which made for a fun, relaxed meal overall. Service was straightforward -- our waiter was friendly, checked in a few times, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. Nothing particularly stood out, but no complaints either. Overall, a good experience with tasty food and fair pricing. Definitely a nice spot to grab sushi or Japanese comfort food with friends if you're in the Long Beach area.
Really glad we have a great Japanese/sushi restaurant that isn't just casual in this area of Long Beach. It's a big bummer that the Greek cafe that was a staple here is gone, but this is still a great restaurant to have in its place! Came on a Saturday night and there was no wait (although it got a lot busier by the time we left). Ambience inside is really nice, which you wouldn't really be able to tell just driving past this place--there's a big projector screen playing sports. Water is lemon and herb infused, and you get free miso soup right off the bat as an appetizer. There's also a limited amount of seats at the sushi bar right in front of where they're making it. Also love that there's plenty of outdoor seating with heat lamps! The sashimi tasted pretty fresh and high quality and fresh and honestly the price was pretty reasonable as well. The menu is quite big and has a good amount of non-sushi choices for someone who doesn't like raw fish, if needed. Definitely want to come back and try their Katsu dishes. Would definitely be back if I wanted some sushi or Japanese food and wanted something more upscale than just casual dining. Highly recommend!
Our server was very fast, nice and hospitable (didn't get her name but she was a lady wearing all black). She checked up on us frequently and even fixed up our table as we took pictures of our food. The restaurant itself was clean, well decorated and felt intimate. The food was great. The fish on the assorted nigiri tasted fresh and were good sizes. The soft shell crab tempura were nicely sized also, exceeded expectations. Oysters are always good. Fresh and seasoned well. Unagi bowl came with so many things, definitely gonna come back for it again. Great experience overall!
After an awful experience at Juicy Dumpling, we had to find something good. The A-hah! Service is on point and they were very tentative. Food was prepared and ready quickly without sacrificing flavor and quality! Katsu is a must have and the uni is amazing. The okay has to be the Bixby. Don't get me wrong, all of the fish is super fresh and amazing, but Bixby needs texture, maybe some crunch. The shut up has to be the cilantro in the Salmon lovers. Cilantro took away from how good the salmon was. I'm going to have to order this one without cilantro next time.
This is a cute little casual sushi place in Bixby Knolls. The staff is super welcoming as you walk in and are very attentive throughout your stay. A friend and I shared the 15 pc assorted sashimi board, edamame and a side salad that was big enough for two. We each also had a beer and I had a negitoro hand roll. All was under $90, which I think is pretty reasonable. Everything was super fresh and the beer was nice and cold. Pros: *You get miso soup and a jug of water for the table as soon as you are seated. *Convenient parking *Outside seating w heaters available Cons: *We felt like we were being rushed to order when we arrived. We were approached every 2 minutes to see if we were ready, when we were not. They ended up getting the point, but it was a bit frustrating at first. *Restrooms are outside of the restaurant. Overall, although, it did not become my new favorite sushi place in Long Beach, I would love to go back and try more of the sushi and rolls.
Te-Buru has some of the best sushi in Long Beach. Their scallop and toro nigiri were our favorite bites of the night; however, all of the rolls that we had were flavor bombs as well. Not only did they taste good, but they gave solid quantity for their price. I'm glad that we have a local option with very good quality sushi!
Some friends and I stopped in for a nightcap. It happens to be first Friday which I was told it's like a street event. People out and about and restaurants participating. Basically a regular night except more people out and about enjoying themselves and some restaurants with music. Assuming... Anyways, they're open late so we just wanted to pop in for a beer. It actually took a while for someone to actually come greet us. We wanted to be outside but we were told that they were short staff. Ended up seating inside which was basically outside with the open air feel. It's a sushi restaurant, which the menu did look great. Ended up just stopping in for a beer which our friend told us they had a matcha beer. I personally don't like matcha but did have a little taste and it was quite nice. Very odd to have matcha and beer together but it did work. It just resembles green beer like it's Saint paddy's Day. With our beer, ended up getting some oysters and the sushi nachos. Presentation was both really nice. Oyster already had all the dressing on it so it was easy just to enjoy it as it was. The sushi nachos, with spicy tuna was great. All seasoned and mixed well with everything and served with wonton chips. Food was actually really good nice. Service was great even with short staff. It's a nice cool spot with both inside and a nice patio. Also, matcha beer was quite good.

We were so sad when our neighborhood Sushi restaurant closed after 30+ years. But, when one door closes another one opens! Te-Buru is our new favorite Sushi spot. Always welcoming, fresh fish, clean and huge portions. The staff is getting to know us as "regulars" and service is excellent. We love the spicy cookie rice (see photo) the house salad, tuna sushi and yellowtail sushi is outstanding and melts in your mouth, and I LOVE the Onion Escolar. They have fresh flowers on the table and refreshing lemon/mint water. Highly recommend! read more

Here are our 5 Star FAPS: Food (F): We loved the chicken and tonkatsu plates! It comes with a dressed sales, rice, and two pieces of sliced, thin, and appetizing katsu. We also got the tempura. It had a crisp and light batter. It was also a large size which made it perfect for sharing! Ambience (A): Clean and comfortable. They have a projector also playing on the wall. My friend and I wanted to catch up for dinner as we haven't seen each other in a minute and he mentioned Te-Buru, which was our halfway point. Te-Buru blew me away! From the moment I stepped inside, the inviting ambiance and attentive staff set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The infused water, a delightful blend of mint and lemon, was a refreshing touch that immediately signaled their attention to detail. They start you off with a classic miso soup, and their menu offers an array of options that is sure to satisfy anyone in your party. We got the sushi nachos, which oddly enough was very satisfying, moreso than I expected. Following that we had unagi (which was delicious) and premium sashimi. The sashimi was fresh and delicately placed on the plate with enough for two people to share and enjoy fully. The price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of sashimi we received. Te-buru is a Japanese restaurant that has amazing and fresh fish, with excellent service and great ambiance. The chirashi bowl was beautifully crafted with excellent cuts of salmon, salmon belly, tuna, tuna belly, yellowtail, and more. I like how they included wasabi on individual pieces of fish in the bowl. The udon is not your typical udon. It has a heavier, more flavorful spiced broth. If you're a fan of the classic udon, this might not be for you. I loved this rendition though! The chefs were super kind and gave us two cucumber wrapped sushi pieces on the house. It was delicious! Went in for a late dinner (10pm). Dining in- Miso soup to start and they have infused water on the table (mint and lemon). The service was great, rolls and entrees came out quickly. To drink I had a bottle of jinri plum soju which was good (it is pictured with the house roll). The restaurant is decorated nicely and has TVs (don't recall what was on). Parking - they have a dedicated lot that is shared with neighboring businesses and street parking is also available. read more

Cute and intimate spot at night, love it!!! The yellowtail collar was our favorite. The cream crab croquette was great as well, 3pcs cut in half. Bixby No Rice Roll was a bit odd of taste, good but wouldn't order again. Service was attentive and kind, our food was paced well -- but I can see it being slow for larger orders. It was clean and well spaces out inside. Prices were fairly decent for what we ordered, though the rolls are a bit on the higher side. Will be back again! read more

Food is amazing! They offer a complimentary Miso soup and lemon infused water. Sushi comes out fast and fresh. The Short Rib Galbi might take a little longer to cook, so order that first. The staff are sweet and attentive and it's a cute little spot. It's not big and it gets busy pretty fast but they do have outdoor seating. read more

Our waitress was very attentive and even offered more ginger which I LOVE! Our favorites were garlic albacore roll which came with fried garlic on top that elevated the flavor, as well as jungle fever roll which had truffle in it. Finally got a chance to try Te-Buru this past Saturday Oct 16 Honestly loved it ! everything was 10/10 down to the delicious water, we got to try different items even ordered seconds on the Salmon nigiri it was so fresh tasting and buttery. We also got a seaweed salad , crazy roll , and gyozas everything was so delicious and will be going back this week . The ambiance was amazing and our waiter was the sweetest. read more
A late night sushi option in Long Beach?!?! Yes, please. We were very excited to see this place open on the very same corner of all this other great food activity like Ramen Hub, SomiSomi, and Sala Coffee & Wine. There are hardly any late night food options in Long Beach outside of fast food chains, so Ramen Hub used to be our only hope when coming home late from a show. Stopped in on a Friday night around 9pm and the place was bumpin' both with people and with club-volume techno music. The sushi was fresh and there were the traditional Japanese customs of group welcome "Irasshaimase" and "arigato" when we were leaving. I appreciate that. A lot of sushi bars skip that. The fish was fresh and the rolls were reasonably priced. We got out of there under $40 which was nice. Huge chunks of salmon in the salmon roll. Very impressive. I will say the music is way too loud. It is a distraction and you have to shout over it. I get that it is all part of the late-night, it's-a-party-in-here vibe, but they can turn it down by 1/2 and we will still get that idea. read more

Even on a Friday night at 8p wasn't super busy. Good for us. Service and seating was prompt. Nice outdoor seating too. So I have been wanting to try Te-Buru for quite a while .. welp today was the day finally!! I walked in and was greeted right away by a very sweet young lady and I requested a menu to order for take out.. sushi chef also helped me .. I order Gyoza, Spicy Tuna Roll, & Bake Lobster Roll.. Great representation and quickly prepared to perfection. So good I ate all my food (my pictures do don't look as great as in person but trust me so good) . Definitely plan on going back. A not so hidden gem in Bixby knolls. Very friendly staff and inviting ambiance. I had the Tokyo Hambagu which was like the perfect comfort food, very flavorful. I also ordered the tempura appetizer plate and it was like a meal in itself! The vegetable pieces were massive and portion size excellent. Instantly One of my favorite places for tempura. read more

This is one of the cutest sushi, restaurants that I've been to. It feels low-key, but the ambience, food/Food) presentation, service, cleanliness, and the fast service are all great, here. This was my second time here, and I loved it even more. We had a variety of food from Nori, sashimi, cut rolls, and so on. We will definitely come back for a third time and more. There's never a wait here, and I'm so surprised because it's such a good place. Well, we usually come for a late dinner, so I guess that makes sense. Can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu. read more

Love this place! The atmosphere is nice. The service is great. The staff is friendly. There's a small parking lot, so no hunting for street parking. Last but not least, the food is so delicious. We've gone back for more, and look forward for our next date night out there. read more

This establishment is a must try, a hidden gem. They stay open pretty late and I mean who doesn't crave some late night sushi. Definitely one of the best sushi spots I've tried. All of the food I've had here has been refreshing, the fish especially is really fresh. The service here is amazing, always smiles and they're very attentive. I've come back six times now and every time I've had a positive experience. They're consistent and concise. I absolutely adore the sushi, the presentation and flavor is immaculate. I live for the Salmon Lover and the Atlantic roll. Adequate parking, and I appreciate the music they play. Although a bit pricey, but worth it. Overall they have a great vibe here. Solid sushi spot with decent pricing. Here me out, a lot of sushi spots you pay an arm and a leg and the food is meh. Here you pay a decent, price for this day in age, and the fish is good. Friendly staff too. We both did the lunch special and each got an appetizer. Total came out to $70. Staff was also very friendly which was a plus for us. And there's like 2 poke stops you can collect stuff at while you wait lol read more
