I met up with a friend on a Thursday evening. There were a few tables and a couch area with a few games. Tea Town offers a variety of teas, but also some cakes and street food. I'm sorry I couldn't start off Tea Town's Yelp page with five stars, but I want to be honest in my reviews. I visited on a Tuesday evening and there were a couple other guests in there when I arrived. The space is well laid out with a table of board games at the very front of the store. I also liked the baby blue couch. The first thing that hit me however was the smell. It turned out to be air freshener, but it wasn't fit for a food setting. It ended up giving me a headache as I waited for my peach black tea and waffle puff. I actually wanted the peach green tea, but they didn't have green tea. When I got my tea, there was a thick layer of foam at the top. The peach flavoring would have definitely paired better with the green tea. The black tea is way too overpowering. The real problem with the drink though is the boba. It was borderline marshmallow consistency. I didn't like it at all. The waffle puff wasn't very authentic, but if you just think of it as a sweet dessert, it passes. With a boba shop opening every week around here, Tea Town simply doesn't pass muster. I generously gave them three stars because they are new and still have lots of room to improve. My humble suggestions: make smaller boba batches so they don't melt into nothing, remove that air freshener, and have your menu items in stock! They will soon offer tea pots for friends of up to four to share in store - that could be a differentiating game changer for them. I wish them the best of luck. read more

We ordered the Mango Sago, Halo Halo milkshake, and the street food platter. The drinks are fantastic, but we waited about 15 mins for them. At that point we asked about the food and the girl, who was extremely quiet and hard to hear, said it wasn't even started yet. We asked how long it would take and she said another 10-15 mins. We were the only people in the store besides a woman who had come to get a Doordash order, and a few people who were there before we came in. At no point were we told how long it would take until we asked. We ended up just getting a refund because we needed to be somewhere. read more

This boba place is a new and the store is really cute. The store has a layout similar to others with like 10 or so tables and some games + WiFi if you want to study or just hangout. The pricing seems on par with other boba places at around $5 a drink with toppings. I personally ordered the "Tea town recommended" mango passion fruit peach green tea with lychee jelly with normal sweetness. I didn't think it was that good as all I tasted was sourness from I presume was the passion fruit syrup. The best part of it was the lychee jelly I paid extra for. My gf ordered the Hokkaido milk tea was pretty on par with others I've tried. We also ordered their pancake which was pretty cool. One recommendation I would make would be if they would warm up their syrup before serving it. The pancake wasn't warm anymore if we dipped it in the cold syrup, so we stopped using it. They also do have a stamp card, however you need to ask for it, because don't offer if you don't ask.Overall it had a great atmosphere but maybe I would recommend trying some other drink than their mango passion fruit peach green tea. read more

A cozy place with nice ambiance. The service was friendly and fast. The place was clean and cozy. If you're into ube, this place has a lot of choices. I had the Halo Halo drink, which was delicious with the jelly and beans, though I wish it had a stronger ube flavor. It was pricey, but large enough could have easily shared. I go to this place almost everyday after lecture to study. The environment is very welcoming and overall a tremendous spot to hang out. Whoever made that playlist just makes you want to vibe lol. I highly recommend the Tea Town faves! The peach mango passionfruit green tea has the right amount of sweetness, and the proportion of tea to rainbow jelly is excellent. I've also tried the Okinawa Milk Tea a couple times and the roasted brown sugar tastes so good with the milk tea. The ube cupcakes and banana bread are made in-house and make the perfect pair to the Tea Town Coffee. Whoever said that the popcorn chicken was disproportional was lyin cause I got fries and saucy sauce with it! The baristas were wonderful and really helped me to select my daily boba. read more

Great local boba spot! We came by after lunch to get a quick fix of boba. I got their Lychee Strawberry and Passionfruit teas with jelly and poppings for about $6 each. After they said they had ran out they were making more while saying it would take 5-10 min. Not only we're we waiting for about 30 min not an ounce of guilt was showed by the staff. Fun Filipino drink and snack spot! They offer a variety of different food and I think you should try their Filipino specials if you are to come here- they serve some unique drinks other boba places would not offer. I really like their pink gulaman drink(coconut cream drink with assorted jellies). It was so creamy and satisfying with strong coconut flavors. The jellies add a nice flavor that compliments the coconut flavor well! I got it unsweetened because I suspected the jelly would have inherent sweetness that would be enough for my low sweet preference and I was right! I also tried their ube bread (With cheese in the middle) and that was great! It is light and perfect for snack or breakfast. There is so much more snacks they offer like fried chicken bites with egg puff and other Filipino baked goods. It does get busy and they do a good job keeping the line moving. Honestly I was quite disappointed with this place's milk tea. I am not sure if this is the wrong place to get boba, but it was not good. It did not have any tea flavor and the thai tea that I got tasted like powdered milk tea. The boba was okay, but nothing to be excited about. They are tucked away in a shopping strip off of Independence Pkwy and 15th St, with a huge shared parking lot. I ordered their Okinawa Milk Tea and Plain Wafflepuff. I am glad I opted for 50% sweetness for the milk tea because it was just right (I do not like overly sweet drinks). It also had warm boba, which was a nice touch, but it was a little too soft without enough chew. Sadly, the egg waffle was a disappointment. I asked for it to be extra crispy, and it was still not to my liking. It was bland and I would not get it again. Most of their menu items seemed to be priced reasonably. Because people have been talking about this place on DFW Eat and Garland foodies a lot, so we decided to come and check this place out. We came on a Wednesday, and there was nobody there but us 4! We got 2 bags of pandesal (one Ube and one Pandan); the breads were very very dry and barely had any cream cheese in the middle nor any flavor at all to tell the difference between the 2. We asked for 2 disposable plates so we can share the breads, they gave us a PLASTIC BAG?!?!?! Wth We ordered 4 different drinks: a Taro smoothie, a Wintermelon GreenTea with boba, a pink guava oolong tea with boba, and a brown sugar milk tea. They were all very sweet even though we asked to have 50% sugar. It took them 15 minutes to make our drinks, so by the time we got our drinks most of the ice were gone. The boba was too soft and didn't have any boba-like consistency. The Wintermelon GreenTea was literally Jasminetea with a bit of Wintermelon flavor. How disappointed! We had an order of waffle and chickens as well! The waffle was still raw, and the chicken was kinda over cooked!?!?!?! My gosh! Tea Town is a little far for me, so I'm not sure I would make a special trip to go here, but I would definitely come back if I was in the area. On my trip, I ordered a brown sugar milk tea and a taho. The brown sugar milk tea was really good, although I would have liked it better if the tea flavor was a bit stronger. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the taho since the ginger syrup had way too many pieces of ginger in it, but that's personal preference. I really wanted to like this place. I was so excited to come and purchase Filipino food and support a small business. I had seen several pictures and read some great reviews, so I had high hopes! However, it did not live up to my expectations. I went in with my family and ordered 4 smoothie bobas and bought some flavored pandesals and a mamon. Easy enough and sounds like a great experience right? First off, the person who helped us didn't even greet us to take our order. She was busy prepping drinks when we first walked in (which is understandable) and after 5 minutes, walked up to the register and just stared at me without saying a word (totally awkward and lacked customer service). So I placed our order and paid for the baked goods. There were 4 drinks ahead of ours being made, some food being fried up, and one lady that ordered after us. It took about 10 minutes to get the drinks out to the party ahead of us. We waited patiently. So I'm thinking, ok, we're next. NOPE. The employees then skipped our order and filled the order that came AFTER us. She had a drink and something fried. This was another 10 minute wait. FINALLY, they began making our drinks. It took another 10 minutes for our 4 milkshakes with boba to be made. I had the avocado with boba and it had absolutely no avocado taste to it. And, like another reviewer stated, the boba was too soft. My husband had the strawberry banana and he had the same opinion about it being flavorless. My kids had their drinks and enjoyed them. So in the end, we waited about 35 minutes to get 4 drinks. I got the pandan and ube pandesals and they were okay. Not much flavor and very little filling, although the filling was delicious. The mamon was slightly underbaked, but I did enjoy that. I wish they had sapin sapin to buy, but they didn't have it with the baked goods. The ginger syrup tasted like it was made with very old ginger and overly sweet.. just unpleasant to swallow overall. Oolong milk tea, hot - 0/5 (negative points if possible). It seems like a hot milk tea is often overlooked in most of these boba shops around Plano (understandably so, b/c of the weather). This place has an exceptionally awful hot milk tea. After my husband and I had a few Filipino BBQ sticks at Mauro's a few stores down, we went here for a sweet treat. My husband got a fruit green tea, and I got a taro milk tea with frothy coconut milk cream served on top. We both enjoyed our drinks, along with other items we added: a slice of sans rival cake and empanada pies (chicken and beef). There are many boba shops in Plano, but what makes Tea Town stand out is that they offer Filipino food, as the owners are Filipino (and very friendly too). In addition to the items I mentioned, they also offer siopao (meat buns), arroz caldo soup, ube cake, and Filipino street food like fish balls. They also have other sweet treats like egg waffles which can be served with fruit and whipped cream. The shop is very nice and clean, with a nice sized TV as well as board games to play with. Walked in a couple days ago and pleasantly surprised that the bubble teas are good. Love the fact that you can adjust the sweetness of your tea. They have 3-4 tables so the place itself is not big. I truly love boba, but what I love more than boba is sago't gulaman. I haven't had it in forever, so when I found out this place serves sago I had to go (pun intended). Drinking their sago made me incredibly nostalgic. You can also change the sweetness level which is fantastic because I have shifted my sweet tooth into a savory tooth as an adult. While I can't speak to their actual boba tea, I do feel like they have more to offer and are changing up their menu often. They even have Taho on the weekends and they started serving a Buko Pandan drink. They also have Filipino street food and snacks like fish balls, kikiam and siopao. They are perfect light bites to have with your drink. All you have to do now is bring your own chismis. It is a bit out of the way for me, but I'm willing to drive whenever I need my Filipino snack fix. Phone in my order before I arrive and was assured it would only take about 8 minutes to make when I ask. I ordered 2 avocado milkshake, jasmine green tea and 2 plain waffles. The drinks came out first and I had to wait a while for my waffles. When I ask about my waffles they told me they are taking it out but when it was handed to me the waffle weren't hot but cold.
