I used to love Teal. i learned so much about my hair from them. I even bought coloring from them during the covid shutdown which for me was a life saver. My hairdresser at the time even would check in with me during the pandemic. she decided to make a life change and move out of state. The salon never followed up with me or offered an appointment with another stylist. I am older maybe that is why as the place really caters to a much younger clientele Probably for the best as their price structure allows for stylist professional development (aka price hikes ) along with yearly cost of living increases making routine colors cost prohibitive for me unless I was willing to keep changing to new stylists which for me defeated the purpose of a solid stylist relationship. My appointment was with Erin and she was very patient and professional during the entire session. I went in with a picture in mind, was also apprehensive of how it will look on me. Found this salon on google maps for salons near me. I was visiting the area and wanted a quick style. My first trip in - I Came in for a quick consult, and had my appt the following day. The ladies here are all fabulous!!! I wish there was better signage outside- something to say hey turn here my First time in I passed it. But once I arrive the parking is ample- easy in and out. The Salon was super cute and clean. Everyone was friendly- welcoming. They always offer a cold beverage. They even had these adorable gift bags just a little thank you. This alone made my day. So thoughtful- and just that little extra thing that makes them above and beyond other places. My actual visits: 2nd and third time here I came for a wash and style- saw NIKKI- she was awesome. Super friendly easy to talk to. Loved my style. She just gives the best head massages after/while shampooing.... I wish they were longer lol I spent just at an hour here both visits. Before even coming to Teal, I called and explained my hair situation. I am Type A Hard Core Ridiculous about the happenings of my hair. After some words about the stylists available at the time I needed (I was trying to get in within 3-4 days) and their ability to work with Asian hair types, I was referred to Jessica. With apprehension, I took the appointment. Teal is located close to Drum Hill, but not quite. Not being "from" the area, The salon is in a plaza next to an industrial-looking set of buildings. Said salon shares its lot with a few other local businesses, but there are a few spots in front designated specifically for Teal clients. I found this to be a very unique touch indicative of the salon (touché). The waiting area is nice. There are complementary drinks, via Keurig (I have one at home so I wasn't too crazy about it, but it's a nice touch) and fruit infused water, and random snacks/candies. There are also a number of magazines you can thumb through while you wait for your stylist. Jessica walked and motioned me over to her chair. There, we spent some time going over her experience working with Asian hair (Granted, Lowell has a hell of a lot of Asian people) and what I expected out of our session together that day. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and we went from there. She ended up giving me the same look I came in with, but at a shorter length- AND I LOVED IT. (I know what looks good on me and I kinda stick with it. I'm a creature of habit, what can I say?) Walking out of the salon, I felt like a done up shih tzu, but once the bended ends relaxed, I looked so much more "me." I will mention that I'm chatty and I'm used to stylists who chit chat back. I would say that 60% of the time, Jessica was quiet... and I kinda had to prod her to make conversation. After a while, I just gave up and shut up. Maybe she was trying to gauge me as a new client? Yesterday was my first time at TEAL with Lydia for a women's cut. The studio was half full and leaves 30 mins before and after each appointment to sanitize the stations. They also sanitize the hair washing station right after every use. If any good comes from COVID, this is one of them... Lydia took the time to cut my hair (and then trim again so it fit my needs), blowdry, style, and gave me a wonderful scalp and neck massage. Not sure why I've waited this long to write a review for Teal... Better late than never! I've been going to Jessica for about a year now and I've loved every single appointment. We've done partial balayages, deep conditioning/shine treatments, all over color and, most recently, chopped off 8 inches of my hair to donate! I still remember my first appointment (partial balayage) when Jess sat with me to talk me through the processes, what my expectations were and even potential costs! This really stood out to me because it showcases that the stylists and staff at Teal really care about their clients. Appointments are always a breeze as they offer online booking for most appointments (except color since those appts require more of a consult to determine the amount of time needed). They even keep a card on file to pay with so I've never had to pull out my wallet (except for tips, of course). Aside from the logistics, the space is gorgeous and welcoming. I'm always offered coffee or water and it really makes me feel at home. All the stylists and staff are clearly highly competent and trustworthy. If you don't believe me, I encourage you to check out their Instagram accounts. I have been driving about an hour and a half just to have my hair done here, and will continue to do so. First time customer and possibly will become a regular. The salon décor is beautiful and they work with an excellent hair product line. Beatrice did a wonderful job at cutting my hair and giving me a partial foil. The process did take a long time (4hrs) so don't go if you are in a rush. The salon is in a small street, off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip. Ensure to call about the parking situation before heading there because the ladies did had a conversation about their cars getting tickets and what not. Christina did a great job on my hair. I have really dry damaged hair from bleaching it on my own in the past and she gave me a lot of great tips on how to get it healthy again. She did an amazing job on my partial highlight. It looks so natural! I also got a trim and my hair feels healthier already. I also love the way the salon is decorated. It feels very upscale. I have been seeing Jessica here for a few years now and I will not go anywhere else! I have thick, curly hair and Jessica always knows how to cut it perfectly and make it more manageable for me. Wow. Where even to begin? Okay, so I'm not the best wedding planner... I called Lypor around the 8th or 10th of October, and I was getting married in less than a week on the 14th. It was a little last minute, but I had her in mind after seeing samples from her website and style. I thought she'd be perfect... and she was absolutely! She did amazing work on my maid of honor, bridesmaids and me. She gave careful attention to detail in having the hairstyles complement each other. My bridesmaid and I both had our make-up done, and we're the types who never wore make-up - but we loved it! She's understands how to get the look we were going for just by asking us our preferences and styles. And since we all have different personalities, her total confidence and control was just what we needed that morning before the wedding. Sooo amazing! I had bern box coloring my hair for a while now and needed some serious help! Christina was the stylist that did my hair. We fixed my box color disaster and put in some caramel colored highlights. I also got a cut too. I have never loved a cut and color this much. Teal was available and quickly put together a reasonable plan that made for a wonderful day. I went in for a trial and Lydia's skills became clear immediately. She was able to replicate my hair from a picture, and did a great job with my makeup. I felt so relaxed and the stress of not having a great stylist slid off my shoulders during that appointment.
