Subtracting a star because I always end up feeling hoodwinked by the app promos. The app never works or manages to complete an order when there's a promo going on (tried this on like 3 different holiday promos now), and usually complains that it can't verify the pricing even when it recognizes the promo. However, if you come in and order via the kiosk, the promos won't even be recognized and a lot of times toppings are missing from the list even though you can clearly see drinks being made with that topping by the workers as you are ordering. Seems like the only way to use a promo is to order with a human, but the workers are often so busy that they don't come to the register and point you towards the kiosk. I love the drinks and that they now have snacks (even if the fries changed to be skinny fries), but they really need to stop pretending to have promos and then have all of their technology fail you out of it so you can't get it. read more

It's been a while since I've been to a Teaspoon and since we got a gift card for Teaspoon, I decided we should probably put a dent into it. In short, I was a bit disappointed with my drink. I'll come back but it's primarily to finish the gift card and maybe get my rewards. L O C A T I O N Teaspoon is located off of Calaveras Blvd in the shopping center with the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market which is closer to 880. It's a sizeable parking lot but this place can get busy and full during peak eating times as there are a few very popular restaurants here. I found a parking spot not too far away. I N S I D E It's not a large space but they do have some seats if you're looking to meet up with someone. It's nice inside. M E N U The menu hasn't changed too much over the years. I feel like it's missing some standard tea flavors but they do have some specialty fruit drinks. Today I ended up going back to the tried and true House Milk Tea and I added grass jelly. No added sugar nor ice so there was a bit of space at the top of the drink but it wasn't exhorbitant. My memory of Teaspoon seemed to clash with what I got. I drank my drink and sadly the tea flavor is very faint even feels a bit watered down. But you can taste that this blend does have bergamot which is generally a sign of some kind of earl grey. The lactose free option for milk was okay but it definitely didn't make the drink creamy which was a bummer. So it was definitely more on the watery side of milk teas. S E R V I C E I walked in and two folks were in the store and just talking to each other. I went to the kiosk to order my drinks. There's a way to enter your phone number to claim rewards but there's no way to create or add yourself to their rewards system unless you download the app which is a bummer. I used to have their rewards program but I guess they moved everything to their own app. Since my data in the store wasn't great, I ended up signing up after and luckily they still had my information. I just wish my order had been added to the account. Oh well! My drink was made fairly quickly as I was the only person there. O V E R A L L I don't gravitate to Teaspoon for drinks and I think after this experience, I can say I just am not a Teaspoon person. But will I come back? Sure cause I still have a gift card. Maybe I'll stick to their other drinks and not their milk tea. read more

The staff were fast, friendly and the place was clean, with some chairs and tables for you to use, while you wait for your order. Cute little Boba store in Milpitas. There are a couple tables in this locale if you choose to enjoy your drink there. It had a nice varied menu and the service was quick. My drink was delicious. The tahin mangonada boba was flavorful and the flavors meshed well together. I preferred to not stir it up and leave it as is which I preferred. Looking forward to returning. read more

I went into a Teaspoon today for the first time. I noticed the large signage outside the front door. Highlighting the banana series drinks that are available for a limited time. The honeycomb banana latte caught my eye. It looked delectable in the photo. I went inside and saw the digitized menu that was sizable and easy to read. So many to beverages to select from, snack options as well. They have a selection of teas and several coffee drinks. Multiple choices of toppings to add too. I decided on ordering a featured drink. I was torn between the crème brûlée coffee and the honeycomb banana latte. I had in mind that banana flavored coffee could be too adventurous/extra. I went with the gut and was not in the wrong. I found it to be like a delicious treat. Banana flavored milk, with Vietnamese, coffee on top of the ice, with final topping of Dalgona crumble candies. You can have your choices of milks, but it comes with whole by default. Very satisfactory, to me and quite decadent. I also ordered a cookies and cream mocha donut. Tasty and very chewy. The Customer Service was wondrous, the young lady named Lunna was patient with me and very pleasant. The service was swift and I felt welcome in the store. It was very clean, with a serene atmosphere. Lovely low fidelity style music playing. All in all, I can say that coming back to try more drink/food options, is a must. The price points aren't terribly lofty. On par with (or a tad lower than) the other types of tea shops. I recommend. read more

Teaspoon is a chain with multiple spots around the Bay Area. I find the quality of their shops to be standard across the board and pretty consistent. So you you like them, you can count on this place to hit the spot every time. Objectively though, I find their drinks to be fine but nothing that I'd ever crave. I have only gone here our of convenience or because Teaspoon is one of the shops that participate in outside dining programs where I can get airline miles for purchasing in addition to my regular credit card benefits. So really, my impetus for coming was to try and rack up more airline miles. They have a touchscreen for you to place your order. You can also order at the register, but they tend to be understaffed so the staff will be making the drinks rather than tending the register. You really have to flag them down if for some reason you want to make a special request or want a paper receipt for instance. (The machine only emails you a receipt.) read more

This time, I went for one of their signature drinks, and it was spot on! Shoutout to the kind server who let me know the mango silk drink couldn't be customized for sugar--saved me from ordering something I might not have loved that night. Pretty decent tea overall, compared to others in the area at least. There's usually a pretty long wait as it stays pretty busy so I recommend ordering ahead. Though pick up can be a bit of drag because staff are usually chatting it up in the kitchen. Its hard to get their attention when picking up an order, as they dont always leave it out, forcing you to try to interrupt staff conversations to ask for your drink. (This has happend to me almost every time) The seating area is very tight which makes it difficult to lounge there, definitely more of a pick up and go type of place. One thing I noticed though is the customer service is lacking. For example, I've been coming here for over a year & I've never once had a nice interaction with the cashiers. I do like that they have some different drinks that you don't see in other shops though, like a guava drink. This one next to Grocery Outlet Milpitas is very convenient and staffs are usually friendly and on time fulfilling customer orders. Love it here. I finally revisited after nearly five years. $10 House Milk Tea combo 50% sweetness with the honey BBQ fries was perfect in taste. $10 plus $5 Lychee Tea combo 50% sweetness's with the chicken karaage was perfect in taste as well. Not too sweet. Just the way I like it. Not a huge spot inside either, but they have chairs and tables inside with a kiosk for self ordering. It was very quiet before 12 noon. I got $3 off my entire order from using their app to order first time. With T-mobile dining rewards, I will get 10% cash back on Tuesdays plus additional 5% cash back by using a dining/restaurant rewards linked credit card. Not bad at all. I got their seasonal hojicha option. I didn't like that they didn't allow you to do no ice as an option. By the time I got to drinking it was watered down by this. The flavor was very subtle I wish it was more stronger in the hojicha. Everything is an add on and an additional charge including the milk substitutes and toppings. The base price is reasonable, but in the end you end up paying much more for it. Small place with limited seating inside. As far as boba places to go it's say price wise this is acouple dollars more than the average store. read more

Located in Milpitas, parking is plentiful and easy to find. The interior is small. Golden Brew (5/5): flavor was perfect but I did get less sugar. I know this franchise does exist in SoCal but it's not as easily accessible for me or it's in a place where there's like 15+ other competitors within a 10 minute drive, so I have never really had the urge to get something from Teaspoon. Since the other boba place in the Great Mall already sold out of almost everything that was unique, I saw that Teaspoon was in the vicinity and that it's possible to mobile order from their site for pick up. 1. Caramel Cream: -It's an organic milk and iconic honey boba swirled in handcrafted brown sugar syrup. -I reduced the sweetness of this drink to around half but it's still exceedingly sweet. Tastes like any standard brown sugar milk tea. Not Tiger Sugar level but not a Quickly/Tapioca Express level. Somewhere in between at best. -Boba was bit slimier and softer than what I would like, but it does have a decent honey taste to it. 2. Toffee Black tea: -I got this at 0% sugar for someone who doesn't consume sugar and it created a very interesting grape taste to it that I have NEVER detected before in a toffee tea. Perhaps it's the combination of that, the black tea, and having no sugar that really enhances a taste you usually don't get. Overall not bad. 3. Macarons (3 pieces): -I got the rose lychee, caramel, and matcha. All three were pretty good macarons with a good chewy texture. The matcha was the least sweet of the bunch (favorite) and the rose lychee tasted a bit more of rose with a slight lychee after taste. At this point of the day they were out of stock of some of their other macaron flavors. Not bad, but a somewhat lukewarm experience. Potentially might have ordered the wrong thing so if I'm ever back, I'll try switching it up. read more

My favorite drink here will be the liquid gold because of the balance flavor between oolong tea and creama that gives a refreshing taste. This Teaspoon is located in the Calaveras Plaza Shopping Center. This is usually a pretty busy plaza, especially on weekends and weeknights. Parking may be hit or miss, but there is usually parking further away in the lot. I was originally ordering at the register with the employee because I wanted to make a special request, but I did not know that Apple Pay / tap did not work on their register, so I had to shift to their self-service kiosk. The employee was nice and told me that she will still put my toppings on the side, as I originally requested. I originally ordered their Creamy Jasmine with honey boba, grass jelly, and rainbow jelly (toppings on the side) at 50% sweetness level and with less ice. I forgot to specify the cream / milk choice at first, but when I ordered on the kiosk, I selected their house cream (which is an additional charge). After shortly ordering, my drink was ready with all 3 toppings in 1 separate cup. I did not think much about it and did not try the drink, but when I was driving, I had a feeling to just try it, which I did and it tasted like she used their default cream / milk choice, which is their classic (lactose free) one, which I do not like / prefer. I believe that she did not read my order and made it as it was ordered through her, instead of when I ordered it on the kiosk. I tried calling them multiple times, but no one picked up the phone, so I ended up just taking the L and going home because it was not worth getting off the freeway to turn around and go all the way back at that point. My drink was alright, but it would definitely had been more enjoyable / tasted better, if the house cream was used instead - I also paid extra for it, so that kind of was a bummer. Overall, I appreciated that the employees here did try to accommodate requests here because not a lot of boba shops does so - I bumped up my rating for them to 3 stars, instead of the 2 stars I originally gave them on my last review regarding my previous visit. read more

I had visited Teaspoon while I was on a waitlist for another restaurant in the plaza. This location is pretty small but has a few tables to sit at. Teaspoon has a points system allowing you to collect points for each purchase that can go towards free drinks. They made the drinks pretty fast & it tasted exactly how I imagined it to be. The drink has been pretty on par to other Teaspoon locations I've been to. The Jasmine was creamy and at 75% was still sweet enough. Their egg pudding was also pretty good for those that enjoy this topping. You can definitely taste the "egg" flavor.
