The Plain and boring facade of Teatro Verde is really deceiving. I walked by it dozen time without going in as I never realize what I been missing.... Since Teatro Verde's building used to be Mount Sinai Hospital, I love how they leave the outside of the building the way it was. They also does a great job in having the area divided into little sections, each have a theme or a colour scheme. This make it easy if you looking for something specific.... The atmosphere is kind of museum like and quite classy. I can get a gift for almost anyone I know from here... talking about selections. And it is always fun to browse around to admire their goods on display as they changes with the season and festivities! read more

A bit dear for this poor yelper, Teatro Verde is a repository for all tastes Lucullan. Need a Chinoiserie vase? It's only $750. Or you could pick up the latest issue of Visionaire for only $468. Yes it's expensive but still a worthwhile inclusion in your gifting safari. This two-storey store is the former Mount Sinai hospital. It originally cost $12,000 to build in 1922, but today you could flit through that on a couple of Swarovski bookends ($2,900) and an antique spoon chandelier ($4,900). OK, OK, I'll stop. It's a beautiful space and filled with all kinds of giftables ranging from home décor, beauty, books, art, and their specialty, elegant bouquets and flowers. Not everything here is priced to murder your wallet. You can find some nifty finds around the $50 mark, and you'll never tire or looking at their amazing selections. Teatro Verde is the most expensive but also the best in Toronto. They do tons of over the top bouquets and have lots of neat bases, garden stuff and home ware that you can't get anywhere else. I always recommend this joint to my guy friends when they want to get something for their lovers. I usually call over and ask for all white and green, $50 bouquet and it's never short of amazing! They wrap their bouquets in plain plastic with a simple thick ribbon in their signature green. The flowers are rich and thick and rare and gorgeous and they last forever. How have i not stumbled upon this heaven until a week ago? I must have been drugged. I thought it was just a garden store for people with...huge gardens. I was sadly disappointed with the service I received. I needed flowers for a holiday event and after sending pictures and going back and forth, I was told they can't do it in the style we want - the week before the event. I was told to refer to their Instagram page for their style. For the record, it wasn't far off from my request. And then after receiving an email saying I should just get a refund because they cannot help, there was no professional closure to the matter - I was simply passed off to Customer Service. I don't know if being in Yorkville makes them think they are above the rest but I can assure you that only makes them less attractive and makes me want to tell any potential customers to stay away. read more

It started with a non-rushed conversation over the phone with Michael, the owner and floral designer, and myself (no wedding planner!). The grace, artistic flourish, exquisite flowers, uniqueness, outstanding arrangements one expects from Teatro Verde, I wanted, but was concerned about thier modern look clashing with the loft look - but I got beyond what I hoped for, or could try and imagine. So disappointing!!! I am used to receiving gorgeous flowers from Teatro Verde every year from my daughter but this year it was the worst quality flowers ever!!! I sent them three pictures to show the brown roses that I had just received and did not even get an email back from them!!! They couldn't care less.... they had my daughter's money and couldn't care less that they had a customer that was very disappointed. The pictures showed the poor quality of the flowers and they were brown by the time I received them. A beautiful store with many fabulous gift items - unfortunately I will NEVER buy anyone a present from here. They have a final sale policy for ALL items. While I can agree that this CERTAINLY makes sense for cosmetics and other comparable products, unopened full-priced gift items are subject to the same strict policy. I think it is unreasonable to operate in large part as a gift shop but not accommodate any exchanges. read more

Favourite place in Yorkville for window shopping. Go in, enjoy the dazzling magazine-quality interior, and don't bother checking the price tags on the lovely furniture. However they do have a collection of pretty and amusing accessories at relatively reasonable prices which makes it fun to gift-shop. read more

Kudos to the owners for merchandising this place so well. Must say, everything in the store is marked up around 6x. You can purchase all of the accessories from a place called Abbott -- its nothing special, they aren't true 'exotic' finds. I only go here to browse for ideas, never to buy.
