Elliot and Jennifer were both present at the event, setting up and overseeing everything. We also had two server's who made it all so special and we didn't have to worry about anything.

It's the work of chef Elliott Moss, a Florence native who spent two decades building his reputation in Asheville, where he earned James Beard nominations for Best Chef Southeast in 2013 at The Admiral and again in 2017 as co-owner and pitmaster of Buxton Hall Barbecue. He came home to open this place with local partners Tim Norwood and Cooper Thomas. He's since also been recognized by Southern Living for the Florence spot. The whole hog is smoked over pecan wood in a custom pit right beside the dining room, sourced from local pasture-raised hogs. I had the giant pit-smoked pork steak -- slow-smoked, vinegar-pepper mopped, excellent. Sides were the BBQ hash and rice and the collard greens; the rice and mushroom gravy is also worth getting. Being attached to Seminar Brewing means a full lineup of house beers on tap alongside the barbecue. There are pool tables in the lounge for hanging out after eating, and soft serve ice cream to close things out. A serious pedigree behind the pit, backed up by the food -- whole hog barbecue, a working brewery, and a laid-back lounge setup all in one place.

The bartenders are incredibly friendly and possess the perfect blend of professionalism and personality that makes the whole experience memorable. The food here is fantastic! The wings are absolutely phenomenal. They're perfectly cooked with a great variety of flavors to choose from. The pizza is outstanding with that delicious thin crust that hits the spot every time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but those wings and pizzas are must-tries! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with a great local vibe. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quality bar food and cold craft beer. They offer an impressive beer selection, featuring over 75 different domestic and craft options. One of the things I really appreciate is that it's a smoke-free bar, which makes for a much more comfortable environment. The prices are very fair, and the service is always professional and attentive. Whether you're a local or just passing through Sumter, Main Street Tavern is definitely worth a visit. Great food, great drinks, great people. What more could you ask for?

On the weekends it is moderately crowded with people playing pool and the games the have in bar. Truth or Dare Jenga is always fun. :) The only issue I have with the bar is the perceived cleanliness level. I am sure it is clean, but they have gross old couches in the front area and it always smells a little bit like a restroom. Good place to grab a drink or two after dinner.
