They are really new in town. It's Thai food, we had to go. That stuff is delicious. We were seated nearly immediately. They got us for drinks pretty quick. It's on us, it took us a while to go through the menu and figure out what we wanted. We made our orders and they came through quickly. The food was piping hot, very freshly made, and very delicious. I asked for extra spicy, but I think they NERFED a little bit, or my deep and abiding love of hatch green chilies has made all other peppers seem weaker to me. They were attentive, kept their drinks in good condition. They were friendly. I think they're just working on experiencing what it's like to be running it so it's like they're trying to get there SeaLegs. Not that they're doing anything wrong, it's just like watching a baby deer walk for the first time. It's a little wobbly, but it's clearly getting better every time it does something. Owner is first generation and seems to really his stuff. Definitely want to come back to this to give it some more culinary exploration. read more

What a lovely place great food and service we have been there twice when in the Dayton Troy Ohio area. I have the fresh spring rolls and the fried vegetables along with Combination pad Thai. My wife loves the tee nee Thai noodles with shrimp it's to die for. Cute inside and out smells great and they get your food right away with more than you can eat in one sitting so you might have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. read more

Food was excellent. We got Basil Chicken, Drunken Noodles as main entrees. Split chicken satay and spring rolls. All tasted so fresh!! Spice level 2/5 for basil chicken and 3/5 for noodles. 3/5 was not offensive at all. I'd do a 4 next time to see. Now we did not know the basil chicken was basically ground chicken instead of pieces. Did not love that but it was fine when you mixed in the rice veggies and sauce. By itself it looked a bit strange. Perhaps if you order you might try to ask for their pieces of chicken (like what came in drunken noodles). Not fried but small chicken breast cuts seared on a flat top and delicious. Ambiance: I just walked in but this is not a date night place in my option. It still looks very much like Al's with a paint job and some new booths. I grew up here and remember when it was a Long John Silvers. I would say the food quality is exceeding the space. I think they should occupy Basil's downtown and would be AMAZING. This is a new Thai place in Troy. We did lunch here to try it out. It's pretty good! I had the Mixed vegetable lunch Combo with tofu at a heat level 4. Heat was great, veggies and tofu was also great. The rice was dry (maybe cooked yesterday?). It came with a spring roll and a cream cheese ragoon (no crab). They were both fairly oily but both tasted very good. My SO had the Red curry with chicken lunch combo. She said it was also very good. My daughter had the Pineapple fried rice lunch combo. We've tried coming once before and the restaurant was packed and there was a line. Tonight, there were only three other tables and two arrived after us. They greeted us right away and told us to take any table. They have a nice menu with "traditional" Thai restaurant items. My daughter loves bubble tea so she had to get the Thai milk tea with bubbles. Unfortunately it was not the traditional boba pearls--it was like a clear gummy...and she did not enjoy those. The Thai tea was good though. We were REALLY interested in the chicken satay and that was a great choice. The chicken was thin, tender and perfectly seasoned and the peanut sauce was a huge hit. My daughter got the kids chicken pad thai. Their spice level is 1-5. She had hers at a 1 and it was good for you--she doesn't like spice things. The portion of the kids pad Thai was about the same size of the dinner portion BUT half the price so that was nice. I ordered the tofu pad see ew add bean sprouts and spice level of 3. The spice level was enjoyable--I could have probably gone with a 4 because I really enjoy spicy foods. My tofu was mushy so that was unfortunate. My husband got the combo pad Thai level 1. Biggest disappointment is that the combo is suppose to have chicken, shrimp and pork--however there was no pork and he only had 3 shrimps. Overall we were happy with the food, the service was very good and the atmosphere was neat. They have several TVs and one of them were playing recordings of street life in Thailand so that was cool. The cost was a bit high BUT we all had leftovers so two meals per person is not bad. When they bring the check it has your total AND it shows a CASH payment amount. Ate here on a Friday night, so super crazy inside and carry out. That made service back up, but our food was really good. Big portions, everyone was taking food home, which helps with the price. The restaurant was very clean, people were very nice. Will definitely eat there again. read more

Troy's newest must visit!! We enjoyed our first, but certainly not our last, visit to Tee Nee Thai. We tried the Pad Thai, Northern Thai Curry, and Thai Basil. This was my first and last visit to Tee Née Thai. I was excited at the promise of a Thai restaurant close to me and when I went in the smells and sights were great. I watched as heaping plates were served to dine-in customers as I waited for my food. The Thai Basil with rice and beef was ordered off the lunch menu. I was surprised by the $17 meal cost, however if the food is good and the portions acceptable I have no problem paying for quality. I was handed my bag of carryout containers after only a few minutes and headed home for an exciting meal. When I opened the bag, I had a 3-in bowl with maybe 10 pieces of soggy lettuce. There was a bag with a single small cream cheese wonton and a small fried roll of some type. For the main course, there was a plastic container with two sections. The first section was 4"L x4"W x 2" deep. In that space was my Thai basil with beef, filled to a depth of 1". The rice section was 2x4x2 deep and was packed. Now the food tasted fine however I ordered a heat level of 1/5 and its was so hot I couldn't eat more than two bites. It is obvious that I was shorted a considerable portion of my food, as I would not pay $17 for the equivalent volume of a can of cat food if the food was wrapped in gold and sprinkled with diamonds. So, they couldn't spice my meal correctly making it impossible to eat, and they gave the folks who bothered to dine-in at least double the amount of food I was given. I do have eyes, you know. I would've brought family and friends, clients and distant relatives to dine here, but not if they are going to overcharge for poorly seasoned food in what is the equivalent of micro-portions. If you want to give this place a try, do it quickly as it is clear to me and others I've spoken with that this place won't be here very long. Sad really, vegetables ares cheap and a few pieces of meat and soggy lettuce don't and shouldn't cost $17 anywhere, ever. read more

My first visit I ordered the Crispy Spring Rolls. They were definitely yummy and hot! My entree was the spicy fried rice with chicken. I like some "heat" to my food so I ordered the level 3. It did not disappoint! Very flavorful and met my expectations. The serving size was generous. My second visit I had the Pineapple Fried Rice at a level 3 again. This also was a hit for me. I can't wait for my next visit! The service was great and I have no complaints. They kept my water glass full, thankfully! The ambiance was as I expected. It's been multiple food establishments over the years so the inside seating area was similar. It was VERY clean and the tables were wiped and ready for the next guests quickly. If you're looking for linens and candlelight this isn't for you. If you want great food at decent prices you won't be disappointed! I would highly recommend this place! read more
