On our last day, we stumbled across this little grocery store in the heart of Mainz and it was honestly one of the better ones we found! Like most European supermarkets it was small with winding aisles, but this one was super clean, easy to traverse, and well stocked. We took it all in and then concluded with purchasing some still water for the evening. The only reason it's four and not five stars is that like most places finding cold water was hard and it was unfortunately the same here. Totally a cultural thing, but I'd love the option for some chilled beverages.

They don't have exactly everything, so Edeka or others are still in the repertoire but this is a solid place.

Anything and everything is either sold here or at Baumarkt (similar to America's Home Depot). The food court is fantastic, some of the best pommes of our trip were had here. There is an entire walls of coolers of sausages. It was mind blowing! Candy aisles nearly made me weep. I must have bough half a cart load of Milka, Lindt and Haribo. My sister is fortunate enough to do her regular shopping here, but as an American on vacation, this was a fun trip.
