The area is protected against dunes by a wall build during the Mussolini area. The archeological park consists of to sides, seperated by a small river. The "upper" side contains three ancient greek temples, where one of them had bee least three times bigger than the other ones. The "lower" side, which has one more river bordering the ancient city wall, has two more temples but also contains the ancient city center. This one had been constructed in a right-angled scheme. Nowadays some of the tunnels below the city wall may be still used to enter this historic side. This ancient hot spot contains a toilet each at upper and lower side, also there is a chargeable service with stretched golf cars.

Here there are two main areas and the park is large. The temple was the highlight but there is much to see and learn. Do it if you're on Sicily's west coast and like historical sites.
