I went into this pub by mistake in 2000. It was one of my favourite mistakes. My friend and I found a beautiful pint of Tetleys bitter, mild and other beers at fantastic prices and a great fire to sit beside. Before we knew it, it is was aftr hours and we lay down a few quid to take part in a lock in. Joined some guys at the bar and make some new friends, I left with a part time job, a few new people met and a place to visit when in the city centre.
I would say in 7 years, it hasnt changed. Beer is still great, the locals and staff friendly. Location means it is filled with allsorts of people, but mostly down to earth folk after a sandwich and a lunch time pint. Saturdays can be good when the terristial TV sport is shown and it is the sort of place students can meet locals without any fuss day or night. A rariety in Leeds, I feel. I have even taken ex-girlfriends, visiting friends from the south, my aunt and my dad to this pub despite having a London accent and mixing with all n sundry at the bar. A home away from home and I couldn't think of somewhere better to chill out for an hour if you are shopping in the city centre, midweek or Saturday.
