Alas they have announced the construction of a brand-new complex that I am sure will have a marvelous taproom. With all that being said, it doesn't matter about Parish's taproom. Their beer is so good I would drink it out of an oil pan while sitting in a port-o-potty. I have been to 420 breweries across the country including most of the ones on all the best breweries in the country list and Parish has my favorite beer, Ghost in the Machine. Ghost and all its variations and collaborations cannot be beat for hopheads like me. Parish could only make Ghost, and it would still be a 5-star brewery but there is so much more. Their limited-edition dessert stouts are fantastic, Canebrake is the perfect "everyday drinker", and their other hazies like Bloom and Atticus are phenomenal.

The omelettes were just plain delicious. Every adjective adjacent to delicious, add here! Service at the bar was efficient and friendly, the meals arrived quickly and the server was attentive. The building seems new, is clean and has two bathrooms for women!! Only thing that I'd change-get a cappuccino machine and offer authentic coffee drinks. Tip-everything is drowning in cheese. The food is so delicious, don't cover it up by getting all of that cheese on the eggs and other dishes. It just becomes gross, really. The restaurant is pretty quiet, except for the man at the bar having a loud conversation for a while. Not necessary and rude. Food 5 stars, but leave off the cheese. Plenty of parking is available. Can't wait to return when I'm in the area.

There is lot of good information about the area and other things to do. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area. There is a lot of information about George Rodriquez, a local artist made famous for his signature blue dog. Also, James Lee Burke wrote a series of books based on this area and there is a section dedicated to him and his writings. The salt mines and sugar plantations play a role in this museum as does the history of the peoples.

Especially enjoyed learning about Rodrigue's incorporation of Acadiana and his hometown into his artwork. The museum director, Marcia Patout, welcomed us warmly and enhanced our total experience for the entire museum. We also enjoyed the other exhibits including the salt mine, the sugar cane industry, the local steamboat history, etc. This is an absolute must stop for a day out in Acadiana.
