I'm very honored I am writing the first Yelp review of this synagogue…read more To begin, the woman who answered the phone on Friday 3/2 was very nice , very knowledgeable and very excited to talk about their calendar. Because of her I made my own Challah that night, brushed up on my Hebrew alphabet amusingly sweetly by some children and met a lovely woman who patiently made the Challah possible. The service was perfect amount of time. The cantor has a lovely voice. The rabbi was engaged:) Thank you for making me feel welcomed! I hope to keep in the fold whether here or another synagogue. If you live in Stuart, this is the one for you!

Love this place! Been a member for 3 yrs. Excellent rabbi,…read morecantor and food. A few of my friends just joined after coming with me to services.

Where to start to write about this wonderful Conservative synagogue - first, it is on the liberal…read moreside of the Conservative movement, meaning that the services is somewhat edited, and there is incredibly wonderful music throughout the entire service. And it is egalitarian, a wonderful feeling of belonging and being part of the service rather than just a passive observer with no voice. The Cantor brings the prayers to life with his music. He is a creative writer of very melodic splendid music (not just Jewish music, but so much more) and has a beautiful tenor voice, making the music even more inviting to those of us who feel more pulled into services by the music. The recently retired Hazan with a three octave baritone voice often will join to sing a duet with the current Cantor. Making the music even more inviting is a man, also a composer and arranger of music, who plays a keyboard or a piano along with most of the music. I find myself singing the prayers not only during the service but sometimes at home as the music for the prayers is so splendid. Then, the Rabbi is quite intelligent, very articulate and manages to bring the meaning of the Parsha of the week into something relevant to today's world. There is an excellent Torah reader as well; he chants the part of the Parsha read each week beautifully. All of the members of the staff are caring, kind, intelligent people. So are the majority of the members, who are very warm, friendly and also very interesting human beings. As to the food, compared to many, many synagogues that I have been in - some with just a few tidbits, others with great volunteers making the food, the food served at Temple Emanu El after the services is just fine. Having a meal after services also makes Shabbat a real day of rest, as the staff sets the table, provides the food and cleans up while we just eat and talk. And, the after service meals help build the membership into a community, which in part is why Jewish law requires ten people present for certain prayers to be recited.
