We as Christians miss a lot of information in the Bible by not knowing the Hebrew foundation. Our God is a Jewish God. After so many obstacles, the Lord led me here where I get to worship the way Jesus told us to and He HImself did. We do this because we love the Lord, not because we are being legalistic. The people are so friendly and kind. There is a leader who teaches Hebrew dance. We have Torah studies on Saturday mornings at 10am. Service is on Fridays at 7pm and we meet on Wednesdays at 7pm for prayer. Every year, Rabbi holds the biblical feasts either at the synagogue or at the Kroc Center. Great event for families.

Within walking distance of Waikiki hotels and steps away from the beach. There is also availability in the adjacent Ala Moana hotel. I especially loved how inclusive the services are and to see members of the tribe from literally all over the world, Ashkenazi and Sfardi, all gathered together davening and sharing shabbos with such joy. Thank you Chabad of Hawaii for making such a shabbos possible for us (and for so many others) while away from home. Now about the food specifically! The buffet of salads and appetizers included American and Israeli favorites, some with a Hawaiian touch. Gefilteh fish, cholent, baked chicken, roasted potatoes and vegetables. Desserts included cakes and cookies, with a favorite Hawaiian cream pie... (pause) daydreaming about it and losing my train of thought. It was a huge splendid kosher feast in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Not easy to do on the mainland, so we truly appreciate it even more knowing what it takes. We have spent shabbos here many times, both while stationed here and when visiting. This was another fabulous experience that was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. No matter what time of year we've been here, the shabbos services and meals, shiurim during the week and on shabbos, and community celebrations for chagim are all memorable and meaningful. It's small but well maintained…read more There's a small office for you to get omamori and the staff was so patient to walk me through as I was not familiar with them. Very peaceful inside. There are some street parking on N Kukui Street. I would avoid the other side of the temple (along the river) where there're gamblings and some people doing shady transactions.

As this shrine dresses up for the occasion many gather here for various reasons whether it's to pray for good fortune, health and happiness, you start with a purification wash first to then make your way up to right the priests and wring the giant bell to follow with the ritual for your offering and prayer which they will help you and once done make your way down for your amazake and purchase your omamori after you rid of your previous years charms. However, I am completely satisfied with Jumpstart. My daughter started halfway through the 2 year old year, and she is in the 4's class now. The enrollment process was quick and easy. The owner/director, Sherri, is very responsive, thorough, and nonjudgmental. All my daughter's teachers have been loving and great with communication (in person, through texts and calls, as well as an app). They also helped us a ton with potty training. The school itself is well located, ample parking, spacious airy classrooms, and lots of outdoor space. They have a good balance of play and academic curriculum. It is small and family-like. It is secular and not a part of the temple/synagogue. The school has followed COVID protocols to the T and remained open through the pandemic with only minor schedule changes, which is not an easy feat. As a single parent I really appreciate this preschool for keeping my daughter safe, socialized, and learning!
