This synagogue is like a second home to me. I have been going there for over forty years now, and the congregation is like a family to me.

If you do happen to go, and your child is assigned to Ms. Thomas' class, run! She was my daughter's kindergarten teacher and she was absolutely horrible. Simply put, she should not educate children. She was lazy, and unapproachable. My children attended this school for 2 years, it is not worth the money and the retired principal Mrs. Jones AKA Lucifer Jones was worst than Ms. Thomas! I believe in providing feedback both positive and constructive, but it has been weighing on my heart to share my experiences with this school as a mom of 2 black children. I am so grateful to have found an awesome private school because I now know what's it's like to pay for mistreatment which is exactly how I felt at "HATEARAGE" Christian School!

This is my 3rd time attending as my sweetie's band is one of the music groups that perform each year. My sweetie's music was awesome as well as the other band that I got to see and listen to prior to their band performing. Upbeat tunes to support a good cause. The fundraiser had many rides and games for kids. There were also areas where various items were for sale. I scored some cute costume jewelry consisting of earrings, bracelet, and a necklace for $3. OK, for the food! There were some choices such as booths for Mexican food, Filipino food, and others. Of course I gravitated to the bargain $5 plate of Filipino food. See the photo: delectable lumpia, choice of either chicken BBQ or pork on a skewer, delicious pancit, and white rice. All cooked perfectly! Mad props to the church volunteers especially the Filipino staff at the food and ticket booths. This church fundraiser was held on the same day that Pacquiao and Mayweather were fighting and they could have been somewhere else but they were there at the fundraiser doing a great job. All the volunteers were so nice and hospitable. This event usually takes place once in May, so if you or your family are around the SFV area of LA this is a great event to take the family to enjoy excellent music, food, and family fun.

As a parent, I often felt that concerns raised with school administration, including Mrs. Monaco and Mrs. Tin, were not addressed in a constructive or supportive manner. In my opinion, communication with our family was frequently difficult, and I did not feel that our concerns regarding our children were given the attention they deserved. Rather than feeling like partners in our children's education, we often felt dismissed when legitimate concerns were brought forward. Over several years, we attended multiple meetings seeking assistance and resolution. We also met with our parish priest on three separate occasions. He was compassionate, understanding, and supportive of our son. Unfortunately, despite those meetings, we did not see meaningful improvements in the issues that prompted us to seek help. We made every effort to resolve concerns through the appropriate channels before reaching the point of sharing our experience publicly. Another major concern for our family was the academic preparation provided by the school. My daughter was an Honor Roll student throughout her time at St. John Baptist de La Salle, yet when it came time to prepare for high school entrance exams, she felt completely unprepared in math. We ultimately had to hire a private tutor to help her learn material that we believed should have been covered more thoroughly in the classroom. As a parent, it was frustrating to see an Honor Roll student struggle with entrance exam preparation despite years of private school tuition. In our experience, there was a significant gap between the grades students received and their actual readiness for more rigorous academic programs. Based on our experience and conversations with other families, I have concerns about whether students are being adequately prepared for competitive high school admissions. The final year was especially difficult. During a time when families were already dealing with serious concerns involving student safety and an ongoing investigation, the school's focus seemed to be on discipline rather than compassion. My son was required to serve a detention during Junior Olympics, one of the final graduation activities. Even after completing the detention, he was not allowed to participate in the remaining event and was forced to sit and watch while his classmates continued. Watching him be excluded from one of the last experiences of his middle school years was heartbreaking. In addition, despite repeated requests made both in person and through email, I was unable to obtain copies of my son's disciplinary records and student file. As a parent, I believe I should have access to information regarding my child's disciplinary history, especially when decisions affecting graduation activities were being made. A school should be a place where children feel supported, parents feel heard, and academics prepare students for future success. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. My hope is that the school, its administration, and the Archdiocese take a serious look at the concerns being raised by families and work toward improving transparency, communication, accountability, student support, and academic standards. After several difficult years, I am relieved that this chapter is behind us and that my family has moved on. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions as a parent of children who attended St. John Baptist de La Salle School. If I could give 0 stars I would

Mary is an incredible director, knowledgeable, professional, approachable, caring, and truly one of a kind. Most importantly, she is also a mom, and you can feel that in the way she runs the school. She understands both the children and the parents. She knows how to make families feel comfortable, supported, heard, and welcomed. The love and care she puts into this school is something very rare to find. One thing that always amazed me is that she knows the children by name. That personal connection says everything about the environment she has created. Bethlehem Lutheran School is not just a school, it feels like a family. I also want to thank Sandra, the assistant director, who welcomes everyone every single morning with the biggest smile and the most positive attitude. Her kindness and warmth truly brighten the school. The children adore her, the parents love her, and the staff clearly appreciates her as well. She makes everyone feel happy and comfortable from the moment they walk in. A very special thank you to Ms. Marcia, my son's Pre-K teacher. My son absolutely adores her. Every night he would go to sleep excited for the next morning because he couldn't wait to go to school and see his teacher and friends. That says everything. Ms. Marcia is gentle, patient, loving, caring, and truly one of a kind. She made such a beautiful impact on my son's life, and I will forever be thankful for her. I also want to thank Ms. Trisha, who was my son's very first teacher at the school. To this day, whenever he sees her, he runs to her for a hug with the biggest smile. That kind of love and connection between teachers and students speaks volumes about this school and the people who work there. Every single teacher and staff member at Bethlehem Lutheran School deserves recognition -- Ms. Lupe, Ms. Emi, Ms. Traci, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Rylee, Ms. Mckaylee and everyone else who works so hard every single day to create such a loving and nurturing environment for the children. Whether they taught my son directly or cared for him during supervision and daily activities, every person showed genuine love, patience, professionalism, and kindness. The school itself is extremely clean, organized, safe, resourceful, and family-oriented. There is a very high standard in everything they do from education, to communication with parents, to the way they care for the children emotionally and academically. Unfortunately, our journey here is coming to an end because my son is graduating, and it is emotional for us to leave. But we leave with so much gratitude in our hearts. Bethlehem Lutheran School is truly one of the best schools in the Granada Hills area, and I highly, highly recommend it to any parent looking for a loving, professional, nurturing, and trustworthy environment for their child.

It feels like a community and the parents are involved. There are great events for holidays like, Halloweeen, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, and Christmas. They have movie nights and lots of outdoor space for kids to play (this is very important for us!). The directory, Ms Mary, is caring towards the kids and her staff. She is very involved and is a great listener. My child learned his numbers and colors, mostly to the credit of his teachers. He is adventurous with his food and will at least try new foods if he is unfamiliar, and I think it's because he tries new foods at school. They also do amazing job at summer camp. They have various activities each week including water play, drum circles, soccer, magic shows, touch-a-reptile, and so much more. The kids have a great time during the summer! If there is anything I could improve, I wish there was more early childhood STEM learning. They do some already, like observing the life cycle of a butterfly, observing insects and nature, etc. And I wish there was more of that and others like-- mixing colors, doing science experiments, robotics, using microscopes, planting seeds and watching it grow, learning about shadows and light, etc. All in all, we've had a wonderful experience and look forward to the adventures of each school year!

Graduation is just around the corner and I will be very sad to leave but the four years I've spent here have been the best four years of my life. I've made friendships I believe will last a lifetime, have learned many different life lessons, and have been a part of a community that makes me feel loved and important. Bishop Alemany has so much to offer. Almost anything you can think of Alemany has. There are all kinds of sports teams from Basketball to Equestrian to Tennis! We have arts programs like Dance, Theatre, Orchestra, and Choir. You can start your own club like "The Disney Club" or "The Cool Kids Club." Our school is one big melting pot filled with students of different ethnicity, sizes, with different interests and even religions! That's an amazing thing because all are welcome and accepted in this school. We're all a family true to God and to each other! (Words from our alma mater) Our amazingly talented maintenance staff always keeps our campus looking clean and beautiful. The teachers at Alemany have helped me strive to become not only a better student but a better person. The Alemany Faculty and Staff takes real care of their students. One thing that definitely sets us apart from other schools is that Alemany has heart. We are a people of character enriched in faith and committed to promoting justice and peace. We take pride in being Warriors and we stick together. We have good sportsmanship and I must say for all the wonderful accomplishments we've had, our student body is humble. Being on the Varsity Dance Team, ASB, Choir, and Christian Leadership, my high school career has been a challenging and unforgettable ride. I could literally go on and on for days about this amazing school. Its a privilege and honor to go to Alemany and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I have a lot to be thankful for and I am very proud to call myself a warrior. GO ALEMANY!!!!!

Each of their experiences has been different, but one thing has stayed consistent: their confidence has grown and they've learned how to advocate for themselves. I remember when my oldest started as a freshman. He was nervous and trying to figure out where he fit in. He's part of the LGBTQ community, and as a mom you hope your child will be accepted for who they are. At VAAS, he was. The diversity here is real, and you can feel it every day. He joined the dance team, got involved in theater, and eventually became president of several clubs. Watching him grow into a confident leader showed me how much this school was helping him develop as a person, not just as a student. My other two children were excited to attend after seeing his experience, and I've watched the same kind of growth happen with them. They all have different personalities and interests, but they've each learned to speak up for themselves and take ownership of their future. As a parent, that means everything. What makes VAAS special is the smaller environment and the relationships with teachers and staff. Students are known by name, and the teachers genuinely care. I've had teachers reach out not just about concerns, but to share progress and ideas for growth. It shows they're truly invested. Both of my children who graduated from VAAS have now graduated from college, one from UC Irvine and the other from the University of Hawaii, and my youngest has already been accepted into college. That tells me VAAS really prepared them for what came next. One of my favorite experiences as a parent has been Digital Portfolio Night, where students present their own work and reflect on their growth. Seeing that confidence firsthand is something special. VAAS is more than just a school. It's a supportive community that prepares students for life after high school, and I would absolutely recommend it to other families.
