My husband and I have been living here since February 2023 (almost 4 months) and we absolutely love everything about this apartment complex. From the club house to every important amenity (i.e., washer/dryer, kitchen island, lots of windows, AC, a patio), Tempo is the best place to live near Hartford/Manchester CT. Jessica, Nicole, Stephany, and the rest of the team are always welcoming, organized, and on top of any issues tenants may have. I am currently a resident here at Tempo. I have to say the level of service from all staff members is top notch from maintenance to office staff to grounds and cleaning crew. I especially have to say Jessica Cardona (community manager) has been amazing. She is always available to help at the drop of a hat. She never gets upset when you may forget your key and it's 10pm on a Thursday evening (not that I've ever done that) or when you email her with silly questions. We are considering renting an apartment and although this was on the upper arm of what we were looking to pay ($2,170 per month) we wanted to look at the property as we expected with that price tag,the service, property and amenities would be amazing. I made an appointment to come in on Sunday. When I arrived, the girl at the leasing office barely acknowledged my presence and said in a monotone voice" how can I help you?" (While barely looking away from her computer screen.) As a note I was the only one in the office so they were not busy. I explained that we had an appointment to look at a two bedroom unit. She got the keys for the unit, and walked about 10 paces ahead of us to the building where the unit was. Now, I should mention that I toured another property about half an hour before this one. And there, it is less money, and they were more than gracious and were pointing out all of the property amenities during the tour. It was over 90° that day, she did not offer us any water or anything, just left us sprinting after her to get to this property. Also, no smile or anything. I would assume that they are trying to entice people to rent there which is surprising, because if this is how they treat people who haven't signed a contract, I really have no interest in finding out how they treat people who have signed a contract. The apartment did seem nice, but it was the largest of the two bedrooms and they did not have any of the smaller two bedroom units available to see. She started walking back to the main building, again, 10 paces ahead of us-making no conversation, and at that point we didn't know if we should just return to our car? We followed her back to the leasing office where I assumed she would show us the pool area, fitness center etc but she did none of that. She just gave us the pricing schedule and sent us on our way. We toured this place last month, and it was one of the most awkward human interactions I have ever had. Our tour guide/leasing agent was, I kid you not, a space alien trying (and failing) to pass as a human. We were communicated with sparingly, and questions were responded to with one word answers, very quickly, IF. AT. ALL. Nothing more awkward than an "I'm not going to acknowledge you" stare when you return one of these stilted answers with a follow-up question. This person knew English. This person may even have social skills. And honestly, I don't think she was distracted or having a bad day; she could just not be bothered. The floor plans are great, but no, they don't sell themselves. Lessees be wary. This place will not let you out of your contract even if you have to move 1700 miles for work! This is the first place that I've ever rented with without the clause. Since I came in while they were still building, I stayed at 2 different apartment buildings. The first building (200), I lived just above an apartment that likes to party. So much for the "quiet hours". The 2nd apartment was next to construction (behind and to the right of the building). It got so bad a few times that the building was shaking and the cabinets were opening/closing. Apparently, it was "safe" even though the apartment has a gas stove/oven? The appliances absolutely suck! If you are ok with washing the dishes every single day, this is the place for you! I've tried pods and all sorts of dishwashing soap, all settings and the dishwasher cannot clean anything and leaves a gunky residue. The washer and dryer are so loud and forget using fabric softener because it'll stain your clothes no matter how little you put. read more

We seriously liked the property looking online and the staff at the office were quite nice when we called for inquiries. But, when we applied, no word from management and we paid $250 for just putting in an application ($75 non-refundable application fees and reservation fee$100). I called and was told we needed additional income (mind you -- I pay far more where I live currently than this place charges). I asked how much additional income are they looking for? "System doesn't say" was the response then I asked if we would get our reservation fee back since I realized if they can't figured out additional income (I could get a co-signer). "No the reservation fee is also nonrefundable ). Unbelieveable. I would say it's not worth it to live or deal with a staff that is competent. And they are incompetent when I'm not living there yet. read more

Tempo Evergreen Walk might reveal itself as an upscale rental property, but it has been hell on earth in the past months. The management office is out of control and is not equipped to manage the facility successfully. It made sense that over the past 3 months, there have been 3 assistants that have left their positions. It was not until we signed the rental agreement that we became aware of the feedback from other renters, especially those that moved out. These current and past renters advised us not to pay attention to the positive reviews because many of them were ones that Tempo asked residents to complete. We have offered ample opportunity and daily communications to the local staff, the management company, and all those affiliated with this property for months, but they ignore the complaints. Jessica and the team know and have acknowledged that the rules are being broken daily, reaching beyond their control. They refuse to enforce the rules of NO SMOKING on the property, cleaning up after puppies, cleaning the common areas, and continuing the list. The Town of South Windsor Health Department and State of Connecticut Consumer Affairs advised us to stay on top of the management office/property management office to address/enforce their rules as Tempo is privately managed. They also advised us to keep communication in writing for records. There is constant smoking of all substances within the units. The smell penetrates through the walls and vents in every room. The facility looks beautiful outside, but they were poorly built, poorly managed, and not secure. We have reported the smoking incidents, which occur multiple times per day and throughout the night, and Tempo has done nothing to address the issue and enforce the rules. They mentioned that their attorney is addressing the problem, but it takes time, they continue to say without any details. It has been almost three months later, and no updates. Our clothes, closets, furniture, carpets, and personal assets are saturated with smoke. Less than one month of moving in, our apartment was flooded because Tempo refused to heat the other unoccupied apartment, which caused pipes to burst. Jessica was not forthcoming with the details until we hired an external Plummer to assess from within the unit. It took a month for them to fix the issue while our belongings were still inside the apartment. We have small children in the apartment, and they are up in the middle of the night crying out that they cannot breathe due to the smoke coming through the vents. We have tried to close the vents in each room and made modifications, but the smell comes in no matter what. If your children or anyone in your family has allergies or uses a medical device, STAY AWAY IMMEDIATELY. Tempo advertises that the property is a SMOKE-FREE campus, and it is NOT. Tempo announces that there is SECURITY monitoring the building, and there is NONE. We found that our garage remains open because the management office has access to the garage. Avoid walking on the lawn as dog feces are likely on your shoes. We pay approximately $2,800 each month, which is not worth it. We have had guests in the apartment witness the condition, and they are appalled with the evidence of the smoke. The realtors of South Windsor do not recommend Tempo because it has been a constant issue for buyers and sellers. We are in-between homes and work daily to locate a new home/rental until our building is completed. Please do yourself a favor and do thorough background work before you ever think to rent here. We wished we had listened to our gut before moving here after the sale of our last home. If there were an option of NO stars or negative stars, that would be the rating. We believe that everyone deserves a second or third chance to rectify the issues, but Tempo has received over 30+ opportunities to review our communications. We will add photos shortly. read more

My husband and I just relocated to Tempo. The apartment complex has everything we could want, all within walking distance. Which was paramount, since we are trying to save the universe, one footprint at a time. We have already taken advantage of the HUGE fitness center and great outdoor green area. Can't wait for more sunshine to open the pool! These are brand new units with all the space we need to start our, soon-to-be, growing family! The finishes here are to die for. All top of the line. I've never had a soaking tub before, but don't know how I lived without it! My husband and I can't wait for cookie exchanges so we can take advantage of the granite island and our stunning kitchen! My cousins, nieces and nephews can't wait to visit and have movie nights in the clubhouse cinema, walk to shop at Anthro and Gap, and play skeeball and billiards. I absolutely love living here . I have resided in the community for over a year and recently resigned my lease . Jessica , the property manager, is wonderful and hosts amazing community events in the clubhouse bringing together residents to meet one another . I hosted Christmas Eve in the past in the clubhouse and it was excellent having the kitchen and dining room accessible ...and the entertainment of the sports lounge and cinema was a huge plus for my family to enjoy. I have been a resident for 12 months and enjoyed the easy life. Well built, quite apartments with high end finishes. Spectacular club house with movie theater, game room, private dining, wine locker and large private gym. Summer pool hours could be extended and limited guest parking keeps me from giving five stars. It's a great area to live at, with the amenities given to you and having many options outside of the complex such as restaurants, shops, etc, it's a no brainer to live here. My only concern is the guest parking spots seem to be very limited, I have seen many spots that are taken by people that actually live there and there is never a spot for any guest I want over to park at. I don't want to be a stickler, but it would seem best if they had the guest parking spots all in the center of the complex and have the tenants near the apartments, that way there's more space for guest parking spots and I wouldn't have my friends to drive around for minutes upon end to find a spot. read more

Do not sign lease I lived at Tempo for over 19 months and had to move across the country for a job. I thought renewing my lease for a second year would count for something but instead: I have paid rent for the past 4 months without actually living in the Apartment and been charged amenities fees yet I do not live in CT anymore to partake in any of those amenities, I have been paying utilities including water and sewer. It is one thing to pay for gas and electric because those things have to stay running but I do not see why I still have to pay for water and sewer without using either for the past 4 months. The most egregious of all is that I have been expected to pay for April Rent yet the apartment has been re-leased. I have never heard of any complex holding a unit for a month and a half but I guess they are able to do that because they have me paying for the unit without living in it anyway. So be advised it is not worth the trouble. read more

My intention was to avoid writing a review for a place that I'd hoped to call "home"; However, my family's experience with Tempo has been very little short of exhausting. In October 2018, my husband and I moved to Tempo Evergreen Walk after we'd fallen in love with the South Windsor and surrounding area. We were greeted by neighbors that we came to adore and friends that we have come to cherish. We rented a Brio layout with vaulted ceilings, and we were fortunate enough to be the first residents to rent this particular unit. The appliances, the counter tops ... The apartment is nothing short of beautiful. The Clubhouse was also a HUGE selling point. My husband and I absolutely adored the movie room, and some of our most favorite times have been spent by the pool and grilling with our neighbors. We also spend about half of our time working remotely, so we loved the idea of having a media room if we felt the need to change our surroundings for a few hours. Our first interaction with the community manager wasn't great. First impressions can be important, especially as it pertains to the comfort of your home, and it was obvious from the start that the community manager was going to be a tough person to get along with. In November, just shy of a month from when my husband and I had moved into Tempo, we had an issue with our washing machine that required a part replacement. The maintenance staff at Tempo (at that time) was exceptional, and we had the part by the following day. Having a dog, my husband and I felt more comfortable if we were present at the apartment for when the part would be replaced. My husband and I had spoken with Tempo, and and we were on our way home from work when we received a call from the community manager. The community manager proceeded to shout at me on the phone that their maintenance staff does not revolve around our schedule. I tried to explain to her that my husband and I had asked maintenance if it would be OK to schedule a time for us to all be at the apartment together so we did not realize that we were inconveniencing the staff. When we arrived to our apartment, Tempo maintenance was not only friendly but also very apologetic as it was evident they too were taken aback by the community manager's behavior. Following this initial incident, my husband and I kept our distance from the leasing office. We tried to have very limited interaction at the clubhouse, and my husband would pick up any of the packages we had delivered as I personally no longer felt comfortable in the face of the community manager. Over the next few months, my husband and I found the leasing office to be less than responsive in many regards. For example, there was a span of about two weeks where my husband and I had submitted a few work orders that were never responded to. Every time my husband and I would call the clubhouse, we never received an answer. We will go days sometimes weeks without hearing anything back from the leasing office. When I was finally able to reach the community manager, she blamed her staff that they had not been printing work orders so that is why they were never responded to. One of the work orders was important because our balcony door was not shutting properly. The first time a repair was made to the door it looked as though a piece of chewing gum or tacky was placed by maintenance to try to cover the hole in the upper right corner of the door. I think this simply made the problem worse because this prevented the door from closing even more south than before in the hole still wasn't completely covered. There were mornings throughout the winter that my husband and I would wake up to frost on the inside of the glass of the balcony door, but we were told by maintenance that this was normal even though we submitted 2 to 3 work orders on the door prior to it finally being repaired. My husband and I actually had to purchase our own level to show Tempo maintenance that the door had not been installed properly and was crooked so each time the door was closing not only was there a gap but the weatherstripping was wearing from the door simply being opened and closed. It was definitely a red flag that something so simple to repair couldn't be and it took multiple work orders for the repair to happen. The very worst part is that the door still is not 100% repaired. You can still see a small gap in the door and you can feel the air from outside each time you pass the door. In July of this year, my husband and I came home from work one day to find that our apartment was incredibly warm even though we had left the air conditioning on a cool 68°. The thermostat read 74°. We tried lowering the temperature a couple of degrees and we turned our fan on as we assumed the vaulted ceilings were making it more challenging to cool the apartment down - especially with the extreme temperatures outside. About an hour later, the temperature in our apartment had reached about 78°.. read more

I would highly recommend living at Tempo. I renewed my lease for a second year. I read many of the posts and was surprised that people would be upset about DNA testing. If you are an avid pet lover you would want them to be safe. Think of the bigger picture! I especially love Tempo as is convenient for me, my two elderly parents and my pets. Jessica took the time to ensure that our stay here was comfortable. She goes above and beyond and ensures that there is a sense of community and residents do not feel isolated. We have the best summer parties, Christmas was fun and you feel like you are coming home than an apartment living. Above all let's talk about cleanliness and upkeep. I can walk into my building and the hallways are clean and refreshed. The neighbors are friendly and my dogs have an upscale park to play. I would highly recommend TEMPO to everyone. We have lived at Tempo for a year and a half and I expect we will be renewing our lease for a third year. This has been a great place to live for us. We have 2 dogs and the pet friendly environment here is great. The proximity to shops and restaurants at Evergreen Walk is a huge plus, and very convenient location to the highway as we both have long commutes. The property manager Jessica works tirelessly to ensure this place is run smoothly and has never been anything but friendly and super responsive to us. Rent is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. If you want cheaper rent in this area, then you will have an older apartment and probably more inconsiderate neighbors. People who have complained on Yelp about the garbage rules and fees for pets, etc. obviously didn't live here before these things were put in place. The fees and dog DNA tests are there for a reason. People do not pick up after their pets unless you hold them accountable. People don't put their garbage in the bins unless you hold them accountable. If you have bad habits and don't like to be held accountable for being a citizen of this community, then don't live here, I would rather not have you as a neighbor anyway. read more
