My friend refered me to this school and I can not speak highly enough of it. Within the first week they noticed my sons gifts, and strengths and encouraged me to develop them. They also warned me when his behavior changed and he was acting up. They teach children on a full level ahead so as a 3 year old they were teaching them on a 4 year old level. They wanted the children to be PREPARED to graduate from their school. Their programs were truly excellent and christian based not indoctrination but introduction and structure, including wearing uniforms. They taught the children so much about black history I was astonished and proud to have these principals introduced to him in such a loving way. This is an excellent school and I strongly recommend it to anyone.

But seriously - it was and I believe still run by Reverend Davis and his wife... I am a West Indian child (Trinidadian)..and was raised very strictly by my mum....and it was strongly enforced here.... I was writing cursive at the age of 4 ( I believe Ms. Walcott taught me)... and was very advanced due to my schooling here... and also from the extra work I was given at home....The Christian Learning Center scheduled me for advanced tests at the local elementary school - PS 235 - and I went straight into their "Soar Program" for the first/second/third grades.. (no kindergarten for me).... from there on...I entered the "Eagle" program at my other elementary school.... "Magnet" program for Junior High. and onto Advanced Placement classes in High School and of course continued on with college. I truly do owe my education to the start I was given at the Christian Learning Center... and I am still in contact with many of my classmates from here as we all stayed in Brooklyn - all very fine individuals that they have grown up to be. This school was so good - that my older brother sent my 2 nieces there (they are now aged -15/16) - both in accelerated programs in their respective schools. I do firmly believe that where you start has a strong effect on your life.... I have very fond memories of the Christian Learning Center...and I'm thrilled that they are still in business. And might I add - this is not simply a daycare - it is a SCHOOL. I had homework....and I remember working on multiple projects throughout the day....not just play. I do hope they are still the way I remember them to be. I even remember our cook - Mr Timothy.... he made the best cream of wheat in the mornings....lol..... and our lunches were home cooked food! No chicken nugget/french fries crap..... PS - Don't tell Reverend Davis that I got my first kiss on a cheek from a boy in his office.....lol... (and I'm still friends with that boy too! hmmph! hahaha) I would not hesitate to recommend them to any parent.

My son went here from 3 months until we had to move out of state at 10 months. The daycare has a live music teacher and baby yoga weekly, they take the kids on walks around the neighborhood and each day is PACKED with age appropriate sensory activities, arts & crafts, and fine motor development routines. The staff is very communicative and post pictures and messages on the app throughout the day. We were so sad to leave and honestly don't know if we will ever find a place quite like it anywhere else.

Parker's Place is a really special place. Children spend time in Prospect Park, nearby playgrounds, exploring the neighborhood, but the school also has a small dedicated backyard. Enrichment includes yoga and music classes. I highly appreciate that even in the last few years, Parker's Place has remained a haven of normalcy where kids can be kids who play, make art, and exercise (rather than virus-vectors).

We had hoped to enroll our son here but have decided not to because the school doesn't require…read moremasks for children. I can understand challenges with 2 year olds wearing masks but not ages 3 and up; and in fact don't know of a single other school that doesn't have children wear masks. It strikes me as sad that the school will require adults to wear masks but not children to protect their safety as well. The science is quite clear: masks work. When I asked the school about this, they claimed they have had no cases so are quite confident in their policy. I was pretty shocked to read that because it seems to claim that the policy of no masks works to prevent the spread of Covid. That's obviously luck and not science! I had high hopes for this school but during the pandemic have to choose safety for my child first.
