This is a short span vertical lift drawbridge over the Tensas River....cool ass looking bridge! Seriously, it's a drawbridge and they always look cool! It is located on US 425 and is where you transition from Concordia Parish to Catahoula Parish, LA or vice versa depending on your direction of travel...Thankfully when they 4 laned US 425 from Vidalia, LA to Rayville, LA this bridge was in good enough shape to keep... Bridge was built in 1971 when, I guess, they used to have more barge traffic on the Tensas River.... The Tensas River merges with the Ouachita River a little further south near Jonesville, LA in Catahoula Parish and the 2 rivers become the Black River...
